Wedding 5/13/23. Sweetness Cake Bakery was the only bakery I looked at for my wedding desserts! I had seen pictures of Danielle's wedding cakes online, which were all beautiful! When I researched reviews on the company, it was clear SCB was reasonably priced and worked hard to give the couple exactly what they wanted for the wedding. We had an introduction call with Danielle where we developed a rough plan for what we wanted for the desserts. We then had a cake tasting, where SCB provided our choice of three cake/frosting combos. We tried a traditional mix, a slightly unusual one, and one with fun/out-there flavors - there were so many options! All of the cakes were delicious! For our wedding, we decided on the red velvet cake with caramel frosting, and Danielle tailored the cake to specifically what we were envisioning. We also did a dessert table with brownies, lemon bars, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, and s'mores marshmallow bars. Danielle worked with us to figure out which desserts would work best for our venue given the outdoor location and the proximity to water (such that certain marshmallow flavors were not recommended). Danielle then coordinated with our venue for delivery and set up of the desserts with SCB stands and plates without us needing to be involved at all. The reactions from our guests were universally positive - everyone loved the cake and thought the presentation was amazing! We heard for days after the wedding about how guests had smuggled treats into their bags to take home! We are so appreciative of how wonderful and easy Danielle made the whole process! I originally ordered a 8" round French vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries, 3 dozen cupcakes (combination of red velvet, devil's food chocolate, and lemon), and 4 dozen cake pops (combination of red velvet, devil's food chocolate, and lemon). Guess what my mother decided to invite everyone she knew from the start of career so the headcount grew from 60 to 100 real quick!!! I immediately emailed Danielle and informed her of the new party size and she promptly responded and agreed to make 7 dozen each of the cupcakes and cake pops! She also delivers and when I say she is the biggest lifesaver! Earlier in the week I strained my lower back and was in excruciating pain on the day of the celebration. From start to finish it was wonderful working with Danielle! She helped us bring our suitcase and globe cake from an idea to reality for our wedding in July 2013. I met with Danielle twice in person to discuss the design and the flavors. My fiancé and I love chocolate and we love to travel so it was important for us to have a cake that represented us. After the design and logistics were talked through Danielle made three types of chocolate cake for me to try and she brought three different frostings (dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, and milk chocolate buttercream) and mixed berries so that I could taste test the cakes and literally make my cake the way I wanted it. She also had a lemon cake there with raspberries and a vanilla buttercream frosting to taste for the globe. My fiancé lived in Germany at the time of the tasting so he could not partake. Danielle offered to make a mini version of our chocolate cake for him to try. That was just 4 weeks before our wedding. It was very kind of her to do that. She was always willing to meet and was flexible when we needed to change the time of our meeting. Danielle made the process very smooth and painless from beginning to end. She delivered our cake to our venue, which was very helpful. She also offered to bring a separate dish of mixed berries for our vegan guest and she arranged with a local baker to pick up some vegan whipped cream to bring as well. I emailed the bakery on very short notice (less than a week) about making a custom cake for my nephew's 2nd birthday and Danielle answered almost instantly. She made it very easy to finalize the plans within 48 hours and was extremely accommodating. Her prices were quite reasonable as well. I was expecting an additional charge for such short notice on the cake but she did not charge me extra (she even includes delivery in San Jose area) and worked with me to get the cake I asked for, not to mention the cake was delicious!
