Contacted CD for my daughters 2nd birthday cake. Super friendly staff and delicious cakes. What more would one want!? I was running behind it was 2 weeks before the party and I didn't have a cake ordered. After speaking to CD and emailing back and forth at that point I was down to one week before the party and it was the weekend this place was closed. Long story short I was able to order a cake with just a few days before the party and it was delicious. It was exactly how I wanted it to look the only problem was my daughters name was misspelled:( their work order showed double "n" in her name but the decorator already wrote out with one "n". To make matters worst I noticed it once I got home and was only a couple of hrs before the party. I did call to see what I can do about it and was offered to bring it back they'll be happy to redo the writing. Can't remember her name but she was super sweet and apologetic. Pulled up the order and apologized for the mistake. Note to self - check the spelling :-) I would still recommend them and will def use them in the future with spellcheck :D read more

I was so disappointed in this bakery. I'm baffled by all the 5 star reviews because I did not have the same experience. I called to place the order with Fatima since I live in Livermore and thought it would be convenient to order a cake locally. I felt like she was uninterested in assisting me as soon as I told her we only needed a 10 inch cake. It seems she's much more enthusiastic to take orders for wedding cakes and bigger orders. She was a bit abrupt with me when she told me I'd have to pick up the cake Friday for my event on Saturday. I just didn't get the feeling she really wanted my business. That was ok because I called around and went with Noland's cake shop in Pleasanton instead which is also family owned and operated. I love Fatema...and I love Cake Delight. She made our cake for our wedding on Oct 23. I told her what I wanted and she delivered....3 square tiered cake with buttercream frosting (i don't like fondant). It looked so smooth as if it were fondant. Outside was chocolate ganache piped branches with pink cherry blossoms. Gorgeous. The cake flavors were red velvet with cream cheese and vanilla with strawberry mousse. It was the most delish cake I've ever had. We didn't save our top tier because we want to go back next year and make a mini version of our cake for our one year anniversary. We ordered our cake from Cake Delight for my graduation party. The cake turned out beautiful and the flavors were delicious, but the ordering process was really bad. They charge more than $5 a slice, but would not provide a tasting for us to pick out our flavors. They require we buy a tasting box for $10. We got the tasting box, but they would not let us choose the flavors, but would only give us whatever they had leftover of. Because of this, I wasn't able to try the interesting flavors that they offered, which was a reason I was we wanted to go with cake delight in the first place. The fondant was perfect, the tiny hand-done flowers were amazing, the HUGE ribbon on the top was sooo pretty and the inside of the cake...man oh man... The cake handled well and we just finished it yesterday (4 days later) and the darn thing was still as moist as the day we got it! I hired Cake Delight (Fatema) for my wedding in August 2007. Her cake was probably the most delicious I've had to date. It was moist, chocolately, and not too sweet. I picked out the design from Martha Stewart and she copied the design perfectly. I couldn't ask anything more for my cake - it was absolutely perfect. For our wedding, my wife and I went to several different bakers before we settled on Cake Delight. The thing that most impressed us with Cake Delight was how moist and delicious their samples were. The other item was the owner (Fatima) was very easy to work with. My wife likes chocolate and I'm more of a vanilla kind of person. Since we got a 3 layer cake, Fatima suggested that we can have TWO different types of cake at our wedding! I didn't know you could do that and my wife thought it was a great idea too. We ended up getting one layer that was Marble Cake with a Chocolate ganache filling and a White Cake with a Raspberry filling and the butter creme icing. On wedding day, the cake look beautiful and exactly how the wife wanted it to be. It wasn't overly fancy, but it was perfect. A lot of people commented how much they enjoyed the cake and that they thought it was really cool they had the option of either chocolate or white. Many people said they want back and tried them both and had a hard time choosing between the two. Both my wife and I really enjoyed the couple of bites we had and this great cake just added to our special day. The pricing at Cake Delight was also very reasonable, I believe for the cake to serve about 100, we paid around $550 which was an excellent value. We were so happy with our wedding cake from Cake Delight! They were one of the recommended vendors from our venue, The Bridges Golf Club, and I'm so glad we went with them. I generally am not a huge fan of cake, it's often too dense and rich for me, but I loved their cakes, it was almost hard to choose. We went with a three-layer cake, with the top two layers red velvet with a cream cheese filling, and the bottom layer a marble cake with chocolate ganache filling. The cakes were both nice a fluffy, with richness from the filling and frosting. I like that they skip the fondant and use a buttercream frosting, which definitely tastes better! I e-mailed Cake Delight a little over a month before a party and Fatema quickly e-mailed me back. Upon the initial e-mail, she was able to tell me her availability and estimate for the cake we're looking for. I e-mailed her with pictures of the cake I wanted and followed-up with a consultation to finalize the design and do cake tasting. The consultartion went very well and I walked away with the design, cake flavor, and price. Upon pick-up, my husband immedieately told me the cake looked too good to eat! Everyone loved the design and it was exactyly what we had sketched together. She's also very generous with her portions. The cake was supposed to be for 60 people but it could have fed 100! The bottom tier was 4 layers with filling! The cake tasted delicious. I ordered the Red Velvet and Chocolate cake with oreo filling. The party was 2 days ago and I am still eating them. They are delicious!! I rate them 4 stars because they don't deliver or accept credit card. I am always going for convenience so delivery is really a must for me. We found Fatema through our wedding venue that listed Cake Delight as a preferred vendor. We met with Fatema a few months before the wedding for a tasting and in the 30 minute meeting we had chosen 2 flavors and the design of our wedding cake. Fatema was extremely easygoing and a joy to work with. Our wedding was to have a damask theme and Fatema just happened to have a display cake with the exact design we were looking for. Knowing the damask pattern is an intricate one, we were prepared for quite a price tag, but Cake Delight's prices are extremely reasonable. We also asked Fatema to make a smaller birthday cake for a best man who's birthday was the same day as our wedding. Both the wedding cake and the best man cake were so delicious! We chose red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the marble cake with the chocolate ganache for the wedding cake and a white cake with fresh fruit for the birthday cake. On our wedding day, we were so busy greeting guests and dancing and posing for pictures that the cake was practically the only thing we ate, but it was worth it! The cake was moist and delicious and the buttercream frosting so smooth and creamy! We thought with the intricate design of the damask, our only option was fondant (which neither of us like) but Fatema is a master of buttercream and the cake looked as smooth as rolled fondant. I needed a cake quick and the staff who answered my call didn't ask the size of the cake I needed (smallest size) or try to check their schedule and see if they could accommodate my order - they simply said I didn't meet the advance notice requirement. It does not state on the website that one must order at least 7-10 days before the event. Guess they have enough business that they can turn away customers. The next cake business I tried was Bev Tanaka, and she actually checked her schedule and said she'd get back to me to see if she could help me out, which seemed like much better customer service. The same cake was also a quarter of the price that Cake Delight charges! She even offered an option not on the menu - a marbled (with vanilla) red velvet rather than just the plain red velvet, which she tells me has been a hit. If you need a last minute cake, I'd highly recommend her over Cake Delight, even though it seems others have had better experiences with them than I have. read more
