POST WEDDING UPDATE: After the cake tasting and deciding on using Ma Petite Maison, we asked Negar for a contract (she calls it order form). After a few weeks, we finally got it. It did take some effort (several emails and voice mails). A couple of weeks before the wedding, I wanted to know where/when the flowers from the florist should get delivered so that she can put them on the cake. When I didn't hear back from Negar, I contacted my florist and she responded immediately that I don't need to worry. Negar delivers the cake to the venue, and the flowers are added there. Phew! So my only negative comment is that communications is not great, but persevere because the cake will be worth it! On the day of the wedding, seeing that beautiful cake on the table, it was just what we had imagined. We got great advice from Negar that we should order only enough cake for about 75% of your guests, and sure enough, that was plenty. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it tasted just as good. It was so moist, and you can really tastes the strawberry flavor in the filling. It was just as we remembered from the tasting. We had so many compliments on the cake. So don't give up if you can't reach Negar. She does everything herself, and is a totally sweet person to work with. The cake will be worth it. read more

This is a very overdue review for my all time favorite baker. Negar is one of a kind and the best in the wedding cake business. Negar made my wedding cake in December 2021. We started with the cake trial which was a lot of fun. We were able to try a ton of different flavor combinations until we found our favorites. We settled on two different combinations. Once we had our flavors, we met with Negar to talk about our vision. My husband and I gave Negar complete creative control and we wanted our cake to be fun and different. What Negar came up with absolutely blew us away. The flavors, the height, the colors and assembly of the cake... wow, wow, wow! The wedding cake was the talk of the wedding and my 98 year old grandmas favorite part of the day. Negar gave us a wedding cake to remember! It's very evident how much experience she has in the wedding industry because I was able to tell how much she could empathize with my needs as a bride and would do whatever she could in her power to make things easier for me. I met Negar (MPM owner) December 2019 ish when my sister and her fiance took me as their plus one to their cake tasting. She welcomed us into her beautiful home and we first went over wedding cake pricing and what she recommends for servings based off guest count and what not. This was really helpful in knowing budget and the tiers helped us figure out how the design could look. The samples were cupcake style with icing on the side and everything was amazing. Super moist and fluffy cake, light and very flavorful yet not cloyingly sweet frosting (perfect for asian palettes). From that meeting I knew I wanted to poach her for my wedding. Which I did. 2020 when covid hit my sister had to post pone her wedding twice and MPM was super understanding and worked accordingly. They finally had their wedding May 2021 and the cake was stunning. Cake was delicious and people kept commenting on how it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. Flash forward to my wedding March 2022, Negar was fantastic to work with. She made cake tasting boxes to take home due to covid (2 so my husband and I could each get one) and everything tasted just as good. It was really hard to pick. We ended up with chocolate and Oreo cream and almond cake with honey cream. A month before the wedding we had a call about how many servings, what the design should look like, and that was about it. We gave her guidelines but mainly let her take artistic liberties and she really made an amazing piece of art. At the wedding everyone loved the cake design since the flowers were hand painted on versus traditional flowers placed on and the cake was perfection. Again loads of comments on the cakes being the best they've ever had. There is a reason why she is the highest rated wedding cake vendor for the bay area. Her work is top tier, she executes perfection, and she's worked with every wedding venue in the bay and has good relations with all of them. She even moved houses to somewhere closer to the freeway just to make her work trips to venues that much easier showing how dedicated she is. On her page there a few people commenting that she isn't the most responsive but that's what happens when you have loads of clients and potential clients while making magic happen. She responds to emails within a day and is good with phone and text. Please be patient and you won't regret it. When I first met Negar to get a sample box, she was so nice. We knew we wanted her to make our wedding cake. In March, I emailed her our inspiration cake which took her almost a week to respond (maybe she was busy). I really wanted to work with Negar / Ma Petite Maison Cake design for my wedding. I had worked with Negar to design a cake, drove to her place to purchase a sample box, and worked with my fiance to finalize the cake tier flavors and icing, however at the very last stage (where we would finalize the contract) Negar went silent. Understanding that we are in the midst of a difficult pandemic and unbeknownst to her current schedule and demands, we gave her time to reply. One month then two months passed. Negar is MEGA talented and a dream to work with.   Attempt 1: She made a baby shower cake for my wife.  I didn't really have any ideas in mind but she worked with my friend, they decided delicious butter cream Cake and it was so delicious. Attempt 2:  ...with the first attempt experience we would love to(of course) go with her for our daughter's 1st birthday celebration and she did a fantastic job. I have never seen like that before for a birthday party, we have already seen her talent with cakes but this time she also set up desert table which is top notch. we can't even expect how creatively she did that with $$ we spent. Final words: She is super creative, and works tirelessly to make a dream cake having two toddlers onboard. That tells us how dedicated she is.
