Her cakes are so fresh, light, and flavorful. She only uses fresh ingredients. She uses Real butter in her buttercream frosting, not shortening. Once you have real buttercream you can't have the 'other' stuff. Maggie's buttercream is sooo smooth and creamy and just simply melts in your mouth. We chose the coconut cake with passion fruit buttercream filling and lemon cake with raspberry filling. She only charges an extra $50 for two flavors, awesome. The lightness and light sweetness of her cakes was the perfect match to our Chinese banquet. Her pricing is also very very affordable. She tells you exactly what you need based on your guest count and what cake design you were thinking of using. She is not opposed to using sheet cakes to cut the cost down also. When our wedding day came, our cake looked perfect. I only gave her a picture to follow and the cake looked just like the pictures with a little bit of changes because we wanted to use real flowers. (I've included a picture of the cake.) Maggie was the best and we have received multiple multiple compliments on our wedding cake. Pros: + Our lemon-cake with raspberry-filling tasted good. + She makes her own fondant, so it actually tastes decent. + She set-up and decorated the cake on time. + Maggie is very sweet. + She worked within our limited budget ($455 for our cake and delivery). Cons: -Maggie works another job, and this is her side-business. She was often slow at answering e-mails (3-4 day turn around), which can be frustrating during the wedding-planning process. - We went down an unconventional route and did not hire a florist for our wedding. I think Maggie is used to working directly with florists when decorating a cake, so it was a bit challenging to communicate about what would be appropriate flowers for us to buy. If you're interested, I'd set up an appointment with Maggie to meet her and try her samples.

Not only because I've always wanted to make a claymation video, but also because the pumpkin cake she made for us, really a chocolate cake shaped like a pumpkin, was the most artfully decorated pumpkin-shaped cake I'd ever laid my eyes on. Yeah, imagine it, a cake, shaped like, a pumpkin. Hand-carved out of sugar paste (kinda like marzipan), dyed a bright Halloween orange, and dusted with shimmery edible glitter, the cake could have totally been frame 27 of the Cinderella pumkin-stagecoach transformation. And the chocolate cake inside was moist, rich, and dense - just the indulgent way chocolate cake should be.

We tasted with her in July and there were a dozen cupcakes for my (now) husband and I to try. She made all custom flavors for us. He's a peanut butter and chocolate freak so she made about 3 different options of this combo. So thoughtful. My favorite were the ones with the raspberry filling-I still have dreams about these at night. We chose 3 different flavors for the wedding day. Our colors for the wedding were navy and orange and Sarah had such amazing attention to detail, she made sure everything matched. She ordered navy cupcake papers and edible orange pearls for the top of the cupcakes. She sought my approval and feedback with every detail. I reiterate, her attention to detail is unmatched. On the day of, I snuck out of hiding to specifically give Sarah a big hug before she had to leave. She was genuinely happy to see me-not just the obligatory "you look pretty" some of the other vendors gave. She was so prepared, she even came with signs for each flavor of cupcake so guests knew what flavor they were eating. And because we ordered an odd number there were some leftover she gave us FREE. So generous!! Post wedding, all my drunk friends and family loved the leftover cupcakes and even weeks after people were still talking about these. I absolutely loved working with Sarah and look forward to continuing to order cakes through her!

There was also no preview of the final product which could have been my fault not following up but we trusted them and that was a huge mistake on our end. I also prepaid as I didn't want to deal with that upon pickups big mistake as well as what we received was definitely not worth the premium. They were expensive. On top of that, the cupcakes were very dry, bland and the frosting was oily and runny. At least if the cupcakes tasked good it would've saved this rant. The communication overall was ok minus the no preview of final product. I understand they are a smaller shop but this is not acceptable and we will never come here again. I wouldn't recommend this place to my friend, family, Or enemies.
