Finding this cafe was the highlight of my trip. I came back for 4 days straight and worked from the cafe, no need to try anywhere else because everything was soooo good. They have wifi for those who need to work remotely and the food was amazing. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Some of my favorites were the beet salad, the ham and cheese croissant sandwich, the Mediterranean sandwich, the apple mini tarts, and the tomato soup. If you're looking for a deal, they have a lunch special from 11 AM to 4 PM That includes a sandwich, a salad, a small pastry and a drink/coffee for $15. The employees are extremely accommodating and provide amazing service. I am allergic to eggs and lactose intolerant. They can modify almost everything based on dietary restrictions. I also tend to struggle with gluten (Im not celiac) but had no issues with their croissants. They use really fresh ingredients and everything's clearly made day of. Bought a big birthday cake last minute. Got it for a party of 17, it was a beautiful lavender cake. However the cake was so dry it was really kind of disappointing to the party a bit. I mean no ill will but I could not finish the cake slice I got with along other people. The lavender butter cream frosting was good but the cake portion was so dry it was really difficult to eat. We were craving dessert after eating at state of mind , and the spot was next door They have lunch items but also cakes and gelato . I tried a sample of the Oreo gelato and it was way too creamy, like had more of a mousse texture. My friend and I got two desserts that looks beautiful in the case but wow, I have not had cake that dry at a store ever !!! It tasted like if I had birthday cake and kept it in my fridge for 2 weeks. Came here for brunch on a Saturday and honestly it was a nice surprise. From the outside it looks like just a dessert/bakery spot but they actually have espresso drinks + a full food menu too which I didn't expect. We sat outside on the patio (lots of outdoor seating, not much indoor space) and it was a super sunny chill vibe. Parking was easy too which is always a win. Service was really friendly and quick. We ordered the BLT sandwich, chicken sandwich, and the cream cheese + bacon bagel. Everything was good, nothing super mind blowing but solid and hit the spot. Portions are a bit on the smaller side and prices are definitely on the higher side for what you get. My latte was actually really good though. Overall I'd probably come back mostly because it's close by and convenient for a quick brunch / coffee stop, not necessarily a destination spot for me. The patio at Marsh Manor is shared amongst the various businesses. We have come to this State of Mind location to eat multiple times and sat at the table in the corner between Lavender 'n Cream and State of Mind every time. Both my kids are old enough to want to run around a bit now, and sometimes (tonight) I'm just a little too tired to chase after them. The curmudgeonly man working behind the counter came out to tell us off for letting our kids wander into his shop the 3rd or 4th time they walked in. My kids didn't touch anything, and we were keeping an eye on them the whole time. The door to the business was wide open, and there were *no other patrons*. My daughter asked for an ice cream or cake from this business as dessert, and I said no, not today and not ever. I don't give my money to any business that treats me or my children disrespectfully. I don't expect everyone to find my tiny goblins cute (lord knows I don't always find them cute), but I also don't expect them to be treated like feral animals just because they dared to walk through an open door. read more

Hadn't been here for a while, but we were out of coffee at home and I don't give the chain coffee joints my money so I stopped by Lavender & Cream last week on the way to work. Always greeted with a smile, the owner emerged from the back and took my order... a medium coffee with cream and sugar, and I opted for the Egg, Bacon, Bleu Cheese, Avo sandwich on a fresh croissant. Little did I know it also came with a small side salad. A nice surprise. It was prepared quickly and I was on my way. I was in a bit of a hurry, so I ate in the car. First bite of the sandwich was savory perfection. Supremely fresh, buttery flakey croissant with perfectly cooked bacon and slightly runny egg. Both times, I've ordered a cupcake (I wanted to give them another shot today), and today I also picked up some dog treats for my mom's dog. I can't speak to how the dog treats are, but both times the cupcake has been basically grocery-store bakery quality. The cupcake is airy and fluffy, and while they give a substantial amount of icing, it is refrigerated (and super solid), making it difficult to eat. I was able to slide the entire solid block of icing off with my finger and broke pieces of it off to eat with the cupcake itself. This is a hidden gem tucked in the corner of Marsh Manor. I would call this primarily a dessert place that stays open till 9pm. In the morning, they have a solid espresso offering, and a variety of breakfast sandwiches. The lunch & dinner offerings mix flavors of Mediterranean and French bistro, and American offerings like spaghetti and meatballs. The sautéed mushrooms are out of this world! Good portion, sautéed with garlic and cheese, (emphasis on the garlic,). I will be going back for this dish for sure. But as mentioned, this place is dessert first. However, the chocolate swiss roll I had here was so bad that I couldn't finish it. I personally went to speak to them and the young lady that helped me was very nice, she cared and heard all my needs however she explained she wouldn't be able to give me a quote and proceeded to take all my information and said someone would contact me to arrange my order. I was having a sweet tooth and was trying to find a place somewhere near my work. I eventually found out about this place as I usually wander around the plaza during my lunch hour. I love the cute purple aesthetics and the fact that there are many varieties of cakes & pastries. As I was walking in and deciding what to get, I was greeted with a warm smile by a very sweet man at the cash register. He is also patient and attentive, taking his time as I am ordering. I ended up ordering a large iced latte and a chocolate cupcake. I really love how strong my latte is and the level of sweetness my cupcake has.
