I can't believe I'm just now writing a review for this hidden gem. I've been a faithful fan/supporter of this place for some years now... at least 7 years that I can think of. So yes, I've had almost every cake flavor they've put out. They used to have half off Tuesday, then $2 Tuesday, and now it's roughly $2.95 Tuesday (inflation... I get it). But the cupcakes (and cakes) here are divine. I've picked them up for all types of occasions (kickbacks, teacher appreciation week, housewarming, etc.) and people always ask "where are they located" once they take one bite! I tried my first cupcake from this location while i was pregnant and now I'm hooked. Lol I ordered through door dash but the packaging was great. Cupcakes weren't turned over and were very fresh!! Normally I hate trying red velvet cupcakes if my Mom didn't make it because some people put too much chocolate in theirs. However, the red velvet cupcake was smooth, not too sweet, didn't taste like chocolate and the icing was sooooooo smooth and creamy!!!! Just tried Cake Swirl for the first time. What stood out was the customer service and not in a good way. The cashier was not very customer friendly. If I remember correctly,she never smiled once. I informed her that it was my first visit. I didn't get a welcome or anything. Just crickets. Lol! I had to ask her about the cupcakes and prices. So definitely no service with a smile. Now, to the cupcakes. I ordered the pineapple upside down cake cupcake, a red velvet cupcake and a German chocolate cupcake. The German chocolate cupcake taste very good. The other two cupcakes were just okay. the upside down cake cupcake tasted really oily and it was crumbly. I feel that the red velvet was not that flavorful and it was a little dry. I also ordered some chocolate chip cookies they were not bad but they were not great. They were okay. I also ordered the peach cobbler. It was extremely sweet to me and the crust was too moist but my husband said that it was pretty good. Was there really anything that stood out that would make me go back? The answer is no. The desserts were on the level of okay. And definitely they need to be mindful of their customer service but I do understand sometimes people have a bad day but good customer service wins in the end even when the food is so so. read more

Finally tried this place after not having any succes when they were located in Old Town Spring. It seems they were never open during the opening times I stopped by. Anyhue, the new location is in the same shopping strip as Hanks, so I stopped in while I waited on my food from hank's. They had an array of dessert choices such as a watermelon cupcake, in which I thought was interesting- along a variety of other cupcake flavors, cookies, and cobbler. I must say that I was a bit disappointed that they did not have any samples to offer for new guests. The cashier at the front also seemed a bit unenthused about helping anyone further than what she had to. With that being said, I got a vanilla cupcake for my son and a slice Italian cake for myself. My son said he enjoyed his cupcake as he got quiet which was a good sign of that and my slice of Italian cake was not bad either. Although my suggestion would be to eat the icing WITH the cake, as the cake by itself lacked a bit in flavor. Cake Swirl has a nice assortment of yummy cupcakes with delicious cream cheese frosting. The cake is moist and the frosting is perfect.
