Love this place! Their cupcakes are delicious and a great dessert for a birthday or special occasion where you have to share with others. They have small and big cupcakes and have different flavors depending on the day. Definitely try the s'mores one!

While I'm hardly the cupcake connoisseur, I would attest there are few things in life that are as sweet and satisfying as the ones from Celebrity. Nestled in the heart of Rice Village, they remind me of my time back in NYC where I saw mini cupcakes all over the city (#1). Over the last dozen years, they've made quite the name for themselves here in Houston. The shop is small and thus the takeout game is where it's at. I would recommend calling ahead of time to book or ordering directly from their website for pickup. The cupcakes that standout for me are their carrot cake, vanilla bean, and hummingbird (sweet bananas with pineapple and cream cheese). The raspberry linzer bars, lemon bars, and brownies are underrated and deserve a lot of shine in their own right. While foodflation is in full effect everywhere, it's especially felt here. At $55 for a dozen cupcakes and $30 for the minis, my wallet hurts every time I walk out of here. Thankfully the service is quite good and the parking is usually not too full despite only having a handful of spaces. Their mini cupcakes are a nice changeup from the regular cupcakes, but even the latter feels a bit smaller than the pseudo baseball sized standards. All in all, this is a good bakery and a quality cupcake destination. I think as long as expectations are noted ahead of time, a good time can be had by everyone (#2). ___________ (#1) Courtesy of Baked by Melissa: https://www.yelp.com/biz/baked-by-melissa-new-york-3 (#2) Especially those with a sweet tooth.

Cupcakes are so tasty. Highly recommend this shop especially for the mini cupcakes and I will be back!

I stopped in after having lunch nearby. Several of the day's options were still available. The person checking me out was great in helping me choose. The place was small, but fun to see the cupcakes on display and the baking activity and racks behind the counter. And the box is great - built in holes to keep my treats from rolling around while walked them back to my place. An easy walk from around Rice, and very walkable on a nice day from the nearby medical facilities.

A hidden gem inside Rice Village. I decided to come to Celebrity again cause it was super close by and one of my coworkers was celebrating a birthday. Thought a dozen mini cupcakes would be a nice surprise for everyone! I came on a random weekday morning and there was no one here - the display cases were full of large normal size cupcakes; with racks of fresh cupcakes behind the counter (both full sized and minis)! When you order, they grab from the trays instead of the display to ensure you get some of the freshest ones! I told the lady to select a variety of a dozen minis for me and I purchased 2 large cupcakes and a rice crispy treat for myself! Yum!! That rice crispy treat was exactly what I wanted! I tried one of the mini cupcakes and the chocolate was moist and the frosting soft! Very flavorful and delicious! The carrot cake cupcake was delicious - lots of nuts, not too sweet, and super moist! I didn't eat the raspberry lemon one until a day later and it stayed fresh, in the box in room temp, and was delicious the next day! I enjoyed these way more than the Crave cupcakes cause I think they're way more moist and a lot more flavorful! The coworkers agreed and enjoyed these a lot better than Crave and Sprinkles as well! Love this place - the only place to buy cupcakes for your special occasion!

So yummy! Discovered this gem b/c my bestie had brought me a box of mini cupcakes for graduation. I've been hooked ever since! Flavors rotate daily. In my opinion, Friday's & Saturday's are best to make orders b/c they have a ton of delicious flavors. I recently got the box of mini dozens. I love getting the minis because they are perfect to sample lots of flavors without breaking the bank! It costs around $22-23 for the dozen. I usually order online from their website & pay ahead to make pick-up easier. My favorite flavors are the Chardonnay lavender strawberry & Strawberry lavender grapefruit. I also really loved carrot, apple, and fleur de sol (sp?) flavors. The shop is cute but pretty small. It's located outside the Rice Village area with plenty of parking in the lot. It's more a grab & go kind of venue, but would totally come back again to try more flavors!

Celebrity Cupcakes has always been one of my favorite cupcake place. They have regular and mini size cupcake. See store website to see their daily flavors. Although this place is a trip into town from Cypress, I made sure I got my cupcake fix. Red velet is their most popular, so I definitely ordered two. Banana and Vanilla bean. They were all my flavorite. My daughter and I shared the banana flavor cupcake for the first time and surprisedly it was really good. We are not a banana person, but it was so moist and the cream cheese frosting had a nice touch to it. We also ordered the mini smores. It must be one of their popular cupcakes, because we got the last one! Chocolate cake with a graham cracker crust topped w/ toasted marshmallow. Must I need to say more?

Very cute dessert shop! The cupcake aesthetic is A++ and the taste is solid too. My friends and I got the dark chocolate (standard), apple (fav! The inside was moist and cinnamon-y), red velvet (great, but you can't go wrong with cream cheese icing), and s'mores (thought I wouldn't like it but the marshmallow icing was surprisingly good and not overly cloying). I have to be honest and say that I prefer the decadence of Crave cupcakes a little more, but Celebrity is a great option if you're in the area!

Two gluten free red velvet, strawberry Chardonnay lavender, strawberry truffle.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Since we were already in the area after breakfast at TJ's Filipino Cuisine, we finally got the chance to stop by and try their baked goods for ourselves. We arrived early, so the bakery wasn't too busy yet. The bakers were busy prepping more goodies in the back while my cousin and I browsed all the Filipino baked goods we really miss from back home in the Philippines. They even had suman, sapin-sapin, biko, and other kakanin, which was nice to see. I specifically looked for the chicken empanada, and my cousin wanted to try the ube white chocolate chip cookie. We also saw different kinds of siopao and planned to come back later to buy some before heading back to San Antonio. We tried the ube white chocolate chip cookie first, but honestly we weren't totally satisfied. It tasted more like a regular white chocolate chip cookie with purple coloring and didn't really have much ube flavor. I also tried the chicken empanada. My cousin didn't like it because it was sweeter than expected--we were both expecting it to be savory. There seemed to be caramelized sugar in the outside of the pastry, which probably added to the sweetness. I still like it, though it was definitely sweeter than what I'm used to. Red Ribbon's chicken empanada is still my favorite. Later that day before leaving Houston, we came back for the siopao we planned to take home. We finally decided to just buy a couple pieces for ourselves, heat them up in the bakery, and try them fresh. When we saw the price for a four-pack, we were honestly disappointed. It felt expensive for the size. The siopao wasn't huge, and while I like the dough, there wasn't much chicken filling inside. For the portion, taste, and quality, it felt overpriced. Overall, it's probably not worth making another trip back for us. We did enjoy the cassava ube suman, and I like the chicken empanada, but not enough to drive all the way to Houston just for those. If I live nearby, I might come back to try other baked goods, but based on this visit, I'm not sure the rest would impress my palate. I still give them credit for cleanliness and customer service, although we did notice fruit flies on one of the shelves and reported it. The staff was friendly, and the bakery itself was welcoming. At the end of the day, since they're a bakery, the expectation is great-tasting, quality, mouthwatering Filipino breads, pastries ", and kakanin. While some items were enjoyable, overall it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us.
