Found this place after searching for a bakery that wouldn't break the bank but also delivered on quality not only hype--Caked Up achieved it! I stopped in after work and was greeted by the friendly staff at the counter, who helped me choose and answered my questions about their different fillings. All the treats are displayed in a glass case, and let me tell you, they taste just as amazing as they look. I went with the strawberry cheesecake, dulce de leche, and Samoa cookie cupcakes. I also got a massive slice of their Italian Rainbow Crumb slice(it felt like half a pound!)--so moist, soft, and packed with flavor. Not to mention, I grabbed a 1/2 lbs chocolate chip cookie and three doggie treats (my pup Abbie gives them 5/5 paws!). They even offer a 4% discount for cash payments, which was a nice perk. As you can see from the pictures, everything looks incredible, but one bite proved it's not just about appearance. The flavors are bold, the icing complements the cake perfectly, and the cupcake cream is luxuriously rich. I have passed by this place COUNTLESS times since I have lived in the area. I went to an event last week and they had cupcakes from Caked Up. They were delicious so I figured that I would finally stop in and try. So many adorable options ! Almost an overwhelming amount. I ended up choosing a Mallomar Cupcake, Half Baked Cupcake, candy corn cupcake, and a hostess style cupcake. They were all quite good. I will say that the chocolate cake was a little bit drier than I feel that it should have been. The vanilla cake was perfect. I do like that all of the cupcakes were filled into the center. My favorite of those that I purchased was the Hostess style. All of the cupcakes were thoughtfully decorated. 4 cupcakes cost just over $17. I was having a party for my wife's 79th birthday on Monday evening and needed 48 cupcakes. Cakes Up is closed Sunday and Monday so we were told to pick up late Saturday. Being our first time there, we were impressed with the variety of cupcakes in the showcase. We bought one Oreo cupcake and it tasted wonderful. When I asked how much 48 cupcakes were, I was told $266. When I asked how much 36 cupcakes would be, I was told $166. (Someone needs a math lesson) We ordered 36 cupcakes, 24 Oreo and 12 another. I was assured they would be fresh if kept in the fridge. Saturday I picked up cupcakes, went right home and put them in the fridge. At the party we sang "Happy Birthday " and folks chose their cupcake. The OREO tops were all soft! They were basically ruined. I called Tuesday and was told that was normal of in fridge for 48 hours. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER ! My advice is to buy your cupcakes the day of your event or do not buy them here. read more

We as a society apparently decided 15 years ago that every day was some type of random, invented holiday (probably connected with the rise of social media). Last Thursday morning, I discovered I had stumbled onto National Cupcake Day. Out of curiosity I confirmed that there WAS actually a pretty legitimate spot to celebrate this hallowed occasion about 15 minutes from my office, so I trekked over at lunchtime to investigate and do my part. I parked across the street in a strip mall but it looks like Caked Up actually has their own parking lot behind the establishment - definitely would have been a little less chaotic if I had noticed that first. For some reason I always think that every other person in the universe must also be celebrating these holidays (I still get shizzle from my chums for dragging them out of bed at the crack of dawn on Presidents Day a few years ago because I thought there would be a line at Grant's Tomb. There was not.), so I was a little surprised not to see much action at a cupcake place on a cupcake-centric day of celebration. There were about three other customers in there but it was pretty low key. They have a nice set up; lots of pastry-like options to peruse and a pretty spacious storefront to look around. I went right to the front counter where the cupcakes were hanging out in all of their glory. I got a more chocolate-centric one for a co-worker (Hot Cocoa) but the Blue Velvet caught my eye and had to come back as well. The fellow behind the counter was very friendly and professional, and bonus points - knew it was a cupcake holiday. Way to stay informed. Each cupcake was about $4, which I thought was a pretty competitive price point in this day and age. It's a legit cupcake and you're also getting a pleasing optic for the Gram account if needed. I was a fan of the Blue Velvet. It was a LITTLE heavy for my taste (but honestly, I'm such a barbarian when it comes to cupcake - my go-to is a DIY funfetti from the box, so grain of salt) but definitely hit the spot. Also a personal palate preference - I like a decent cake to icing equilibrium, and photogenic cupcakes tend to have a bit too much frosting for me. I definitely scraped off some before consuming so I didn't end up with mouthfuls of nothing but icing. Definitely a fun little treat and I saw enough here to go back for more, though I'd like to investigate some of the other offerings on display as well. My initial impression was "meh they probably just sell pretty cupcakes but flavor is mediocre" but that was not actually the case. Their cupcakes had a nice sweetness and flavor! We enjoyed the carrot so much. What was supposed to be just "I'll just eat one" became "fine i'll eat them all" LOL cupcakes are pretty but they deserve to be eaten! We ordered their christmas cake too. It looked festive but I enjoyed the cupcakes more than the cake itself. Our pups also loved their pupcakes. Beautifully designed cupcakes and unique flavors. The maple bacon cupcake is my favorite. I respect the artistry and creativity that goes into the design and flavors, but I feel like they are overpriced. There have been times I've ordered cupcakes that have just been average. It seemed like they were refrigerated, because the cake itself was slightly dry, and the icing was not smooth. With that being said, I feel like there is too much icing at times and it is overly sweet. There have been times I've stopped by and been helped by some younger staff members behind the counter that seem like they could care less about their job or providing good customer service. They act like you're bothering them if you ask questions. I feel like the service can be better, especially for the prices you're paying for each cupcake. Went passed this cafe a few months ago after a doctors appointment and thought "what a cute place!" My cousin ended up mentioning it to me since she lives nearby and said I definitely had to check it out. So 2 weeks ago I finally did and I'm sooo happy I did. The decor of this place is beautiful. The flowers outside of the door give this store such a nice finish. The display of desserts left me stunned. There were so many cupcakes to choose from. I ordered the chicken and waffle cupcake, red velvet, triple berry cheesecake, and the tiramisu. My favorite was the chicken and waffle cupcake. It was just so tasty. If you get a chance definitely try this dessert. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake cake as a birthday cake. The cake had a pretty decor. I purchased a ready made cake for my son's birthday. I've heard good things about this place from co-workers, have seen lines outside the shop when I drive by, so I decided to try it. The cake itself was picture perfect, reasonably priced. My son wanted a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, so I purchased the cookies n cream cake. Service was quick and friendly. On to the tasting.... After the pomp and circumstances of singing and blowing the candles, I cut in. It was just as pretty on the in the inside. The icing to cake ratio was like 5:1. OMG this is one SWEET cake. People were literally cutting the icing away from the cake, me as well. Thank goodness I had no creamer in my coffee, it helped cut through ALL THAT SUGAR. Don't get me wrong the cake was delicious. The chocolate cake was firm but moist, the icing was definitely cookies and cream. Even my son, who loves a good chocolate cake left some on his plate because, "it's too much" and it wasn't a large piece. If you've got a major SWEET tooth, no worries come to caked up. Wonderful bakery and they make the best cakes! They have now made a cake for my Engagement party, Bridal Shower, and 30th birthday. They did an even better job than I could have even imagined. For my Engagement party cake, they made a beautiful 3-tiered Fall decorative naked cake with 3 flavors and every one was amazing! For my bridal shower cake they made an Alice in Wonderland teacup cake and it was amazing- people would not stop talking about it. For my 30th birthday they made a lavender cake with gold drip and a gold "30" made out of fondant. Each cake tasted delicious and they executed my complete vision of what I wanted. My sister got me a rainbow cookie crumb cake and chicken and waffle cupcake from their pop up store in the city. I was definitely impressed with both of these pastries. If you're a fan of rainbow cookies, the crumb cake is definitely for you! It's a bit lighter than the rainbow cookie hence it is supposed to be a crumb cake. The crumb cake was a about the size of my hand and super filling I must say. The flavors resembled a rainbow cookie and the texture closer to a crumb cake. Definitely a fan! I have been a patron of Caked Up since they opened and occupied half of the space that they are in today. Since that first bite to now, I love everything about this place. The adorable decorations, the sweet family that runs the shop, the beautiful cupcakes in unique flavors, the delicious rainbow cookie cakes, assorted cookies, giant macarons, beautiful cakes, and creative seasonal gift baskets. I come here so often that even during Covid, wearing a face mask- I was recognized, I will take that as a badge of honor. My all time favorites- The maple bacon and pancake cupcakes are the crowd pleasers to bring to a party for their novelty, but the true stars are ANYTHING with dulce de leche- the dulce de leche beignet cupcake and dulce de leche cheese cake cupcakes are awesome. The cookie butter cupcakes with biscoff are so good, and I wish they had them more, but then I would probably eat wayy more than I should! Their rainbow cookies are amazing but are not traditional by any means, think of it more as a finger raspberry chocolate cake, so good, and a great treat if you want to scale down on the full sugar rush of a cupcake. The chocolate chip cookies are delicious, but really shine when you catch them fresh out the oven. The shop has done great to keep covid level sanitary precautions, and enforce safe pickup practices. I heard about them when my sister moved to the area and I've purchased three different orders from here for birthday parties and they have yet to disappoint! A lot of times you find very beautiful decorative cakes that taste horrible but whatever they use is amazing. I've tried their strawberry shortcake and cookies and cream cakes and both were delicious everyone was raving about them. I have a very special story about this place. This is my son's favorite place, especially their chicken waffle cupcake. Him and his wife ordered from here for their wedding and have been ordering for every special event ever since. So when we had a very tragic loss in our family I wanted to bring my son chicken waffle cupcakes when visiting after we had said goodbye to our loved one. I called ahead and they said they had plenty of those cupcakes. I had a long day so when I arrived and they told me that they had ran out of the chicken cupcakes I panicked. I purchased his next favorite which were the pancake bacon, and Oreo cupcake but left disappointed. I also purchased one princess cupcake to represent the soul we lost. My daughter in law called and spoke to Kevin and explained the situation. Even though it was 4:30 in the afternoon he told her that he would make me fresh chicken waffle cupcakes if I could come back In an hour. I went back at 5:30, when they closed at 6 they had the chicken cupcakes ready, warm and freshly baked. Let's just say that this little thing made a big difference.
