Craft taqueria was outstanding! I came here after a day of hiking and craving tacos and boy did it delivered. The tacos were deliciously fresh and full of flavors. Ordered Carnitas and steak. The carnitas surprised me with a mix of sweet and savory but all the ingredients truly complemented each other. Fried yucca w garlic aioli was delicious too. The yuca fries were crunchy outside and soft inside just how I like it. As far as drink goes, they have frozen margaritas on the menu. A variety of flavor as well as other cocktails. We ordered mojito waitress comes back saying cant do mojito have no mint. Ordered frozen apple tamarind margarita...have no apple tamarind. Fine I ordered passion fruit. Comes back w margarita on the rocks because they only make the traditional frozen for now. I mean I think these things should be communicated to the server so they can tell us before we order. They were nice enough to not charge me for the passion fruit on the rocks for the inconvenience. That was nice. In the end I did order the tradiobal frozen and it was really good. And strong. We have been here so many times over the last few years and every time it gets better The expanded space is awesome and the bar is definitely a welcome addition. The mango chamoy marg is perfection and go down a little too easily. My husband and I ordered chips and guac and shared an order of octopus tacos. We've been here a number of times, thanks to a recommendation by a vendor at The Piermont Farmers Market. So it's high time* I tell you all about it. Tucked away in a strip mall, with signs of wear and yester-year, you'll find this great place, pumping out incredible Tacos and food of the like. Everything here is made in house, and it shows. Just the flavor of the chips alone; bursting with corn flavor. You don't even need the salsa. But you'd be short-changing yourself. From mild to spicy, where flavor and heat dance together. On our last visit, besides Chips & Salsa, we ordered the Spicy Milanesa Torta & "the best thing you'll ever eat" -Handmade Short Rip Arepa- The Torta was very good, but extremely spicy. Could have gone lighter on the fresh jalapeños, but the Arepa was exceptionally good. A fine recommendation by Ayden, who was a one man army that day. Running drinks, taking orders, serving food, bussing tables. Yet....took the time to talk to us about food, high end time pieces, life and the smooth tunes on the sound system. I'd rate Craft Taqueria four and a half stars. Located a short drive for Harriman State Park. This restaurant made for a great stop after building up an appetite on a hike. Very casual atmosphere, so we didn't feel out of place in more athletic attire. I had the spicy milanese chicken torta while my wife had the fried cauliflower tacos. A bit pricey with the torta pushing $20 and the tacos at 3 for $17. I didn't have much of my wife's tacos, but I believe the tortillas were pressed in house. The torta was absolutely packed. It was a ciabatta style bread which was pressed to be crunchy yet still doughy and absorbant on the inside. Chicken was fried with an ultra crispy exterior. Lots of toppings like a black bean spread, cojita cheese, sliced avocados, and a spicy sauce. I was full after half the sandwich. They had a few craft beers in cans, some macros, and some wines. They had some happy hour specials too. Service was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. They have one single occupancy restroom which was spacious and handicap accessible. read more

I've gotten takeout from here awhile ago and also recently stopped by in person for dinner; it was pretty empty and the service was excellent: friendly and attentive. During dine-in, my friends and I shared the Crispy Cauliflower Tacos and Harvest Tacos, the 2 vegetarian taco options on the menu. Both excellent, but the Cauliflower tacos were a real highlight: it had a wonderful mix of textures-- the soft taco paired with the crispy cauliflower. The cauliflower was bursting with flavor and the orange sauce on top was delicious. The Harvest Tacos were good too, though its texture was a little too soft / mushy. Nonetheless, it boasted delicious and bold flavors. Ay Dios mío! Mexican food is my favorite but I am often disappointed because most of it in Rockland County is really bad. I went to San Diego in 2021 and hadn't had good Mexican food since I got back from that trip. Yep, that obnoxiousness just came out of my mouth. Friends have been getting me to try this place for a while but I kept putting it off because I live in Nyack and was I really going to travel to New City for what I assumed would be mediocre Mexican? We tried visiting a few months ago when we had family court but it was Monday and they were closed. I am back in court for jury duty and finally got to check it out. Well, I am so sad I waited. I immediately went for the birria tacos because those are hard to find in this area. They were so good. I wish they had given me a room to myself to enjoy them. The beef was flavorful, the Oaxaca cheese was melty and stringy. My only quibble is that the broth was a tad bit too salty for my taste. The portion was huge. I was going to also order some rice and beans but I knew I would be overdoing it so I restrained myself. But I will be back with more people and we will be ordering a lot more. read more

Dropped in for lunch and this place is super casual and super cute! Someone recommended it and also said New City is a nice little up and coming town so we decided to give it a shot. First of all, owner chef Jeff has an extensive background working in NYC restaurants and the culinary standards are very apparent in this little taco spot. I started off with a red sangria and it was not only aesthetic, it was the best sangria I've ever had. We also got the traditional guacamole and tortilla chips to start and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the guacamole was. I ordered the short rib and oxtail birria tacos, and husband ordered the black Angus steak tacos that were cooked medium rare and loaded with guacamole. We did think the topping of guacamole was a bit much and took away from the perfectly cooked steak flavor but if you scoop some of that to the side you get a perfect bite. Our server was efficient and polite l, bathroom was clean, and the small restaurant wasn't too noisy or crowded. Since we were so full, we took an order of the arroz con tres leches to go. My wife and I tried this place out for the first time and we're convinced we found our new favorite taco spot. The food was amazing. We tried the chicken torta, chicken tacos, and steak tacos. Good food, good drink, I wish the menu online/delivery was the same as in store though. They have some interesting dishes throughout the different seasons that I would to try at home via delivery. The larger plates are cool, they can scale back the grease on the large plate Adobo chicken dish though. Definitely a place that we order from throughout the year, every few months or so. Nice to have their tacos when we have guests over because they are so artistic, it plates nicely and the flavors are more elevated than regular street tacos. I was visiting my friends new home and baby and they've eaten here several times and loved it. The restaurant opened in December 2019 just a few months before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. It's a Mexican inspired place with a menu that offers plenty of choices. Everyone was wearing masks, they are socially distanced and had a table set up outside for dining. It appeared they are mainly take out at this point. They are centrally located in a shopping center with ample parking. My friends added that the food is fresh and made to order. Guac from scratch. Really tasty and interesting lemon olive oil cake. Good service and friendly staff. We had the Baja wild Atlantic cod fish tacos, black angus skirt steak tacos, marinated shrimp tacos, nachos, guacamole and tortilla chips. Awesome flavor and the food was filling. I love, love, love their food. Everything I've tried is so good. Their specials are creative and changes often. The only negative is that you fall in love with a special then it disappears. When I first saw the menu online, I was a little reluctant to recommend this restaurant. I was going to the New City street fair and found that the parking lot for Craft Taqueria was a good place for us to park for the event. There are many places in New City to eat, and when I researched the recommended eateries, I found this as one for it's ratings and cuisine (we had a few cuisines to consider), and ultimately one of our friends who was going to join us suggested Craft Taqueria. I did write next to my suggestion of the place, "more expensive than the usual Mexican food", but being a foodie, price is not always the priority. The menu seemed limited, when we went in- it was not a large space, they were respectful, non-aggressive and even allowed us to bring a Maltese dog in it's carrier in with us. The menu offerings were not extensive, but the variations and combinations of taco fillings were very appealing. I even already judged that they know about flavor just from seeing those offerings. This was also my chance to see if Mexican Street Corn was everything it seems to be (liked for), so if they know flavor, they could very well make a tasty version of it (my wife and I tried it once- it was bland and overwhelmingly oily and unappealing). It was on their menu, so I asked if we could just try a taste of it, to hopefully get a good idea of what it can taste like, they accommodated us when we were given a taste- all of us wanted it as part of the meal. The the entrees came- "just tacos". Not your everyday tacos my any stretch: excellent flavor profiles, 2 vegetarian options amongst the 10 or so spoke to a "higher scale" dish... now the prices made sense. Worth every penny, we will go back one day and hope that any of you Mexican foodies out there can give it a try. read more
