Mind you I just got off the phone with a male saying that Morgan will be out with my cake shortly... I was very confused and felt very taken advantage of! Then came anger from what an inconvenience this has been because now I'm out money and a cake 30 minutes before my event! As you can see by the email, Morgan states she will give me a refund which she did not! Please, I beg, before you order from this place read the 1 star reviews, they're all accurate and we all want to save you time, money, aggravation, and potentially some tears. Morgan Miller - the owner of this "ghost kitchen/bakery" is committing fraud. There's no other way to explain it other than that. We ordered a cake for a birthday on May the 6th. All paid up on that day. The cake was to be picked up on June the 6th. Early this week Morgan was contacted and replied to our email and she asked if Saturday June 6 between 12 and 1 would work. Of course, we can make that happen. We didn't hear anything from her after that, confirming the pickup. Try calling the number? Goes right to voicemail. Try emailing? You might get a response but now it feels like you probably won't. Their Facebook listing has them marked as temporarily closed. So I hunted down some contacts, Alistair Clay was one of them, so I emailed him. He graciously got back to me and explained that it's stuff like this that made him leave the company over a year ago. If you can't do the order, just say so, don't go silent, or anything else, just say so. Will folks still be unhappy? Absolutely, but communication goes a long way these days. So, Morgan, if you're reading this, stop messing with people. People are putting their trust in you for some important days and you're putting a giant damper on them which is completely inappropriate. So I'll be reporting this page, and any other one you ever create in lieu of this one, because after reading all of these same kind of reviews you don't deserve to be running your own business at all. Perhaps when you grow up we can revisit this again. Edit: Morgan ended up getting in touch with me later in the day. I will say I've received a full refund without having to goto my credit card company. And while that's well and good she continued to double down during our interaction. Giving me an excuse about an employee calling out and her having to be at an event. That unfortunately doesn't excuse the utter lack of communication all week or even the day of. All she needed to do was contact us and say there was an issue. She's the business owner, she should be aware of all the pickups and events she had to do that day and handle it. She didn't. She still gets 1 star from me and I'd still warn every single person thinking of buying from here to not do so. Bottom line: if you're in the business where people rely on you for special occasions you ought to act like it and give folks plenty of time to make other plans instead of putting them in a terrible spot. read more

I had a terrible experience with Cakes Iconic. I spent $125 on a custom cake for my boyfriend for his birthday. They put a massive scorpion on the cake. It's legs were broken. The craftsmanship was terrible. I sent them photos of what exactly I wanted, including the proportions of the scorpion. They did not follow direction on that whatsoever . For reference, I will add the photos of the cake and photos of what I requested so you can see . The proportions were bad there was missing frosting on the cake and the whole cake collapsed into half. We drove with it on my lap slowly going home so much frosting was put on it that the weight of the design destroyed the cake it was sickening sweet. I sent photos to the cake artist with no response no remorse, completely unprofessional company. The reviews on here look really good so I was planning to buy my wedding cake from them. I was going to order a four tiered Wedding Cake after this experience there's no way I would ever order another cake from them again. I would give this bakery a ten star if I could!! We moved here from the east coast two years ago and have ordered many cakes from bakeries here always disappointed! Was giving my son an engagement party and found Iconic cakes here. The reviews were almost too good to be true but they deserve every amount of praise they get. My son proposed while repelling down a mountain and when I told them this they immediately said terrific how about a mountain cake with climbers . Not only was the cake spectacular but was so delicious, moist, absolutely perfection. We can't wait to try all their cakes - we had the almond raspberry cake. After a google search looking for a cake, I stumbled upon the Cakes Iconic website and ran into their "Signature Collection". They do custom cakes as well, but the signature collection is a myriad of cakes ready in 48 hours. This was perfect for a last minute birthday cake pick-up. The cake was so fresh, moist, and delicious. There were layers of Oreo crumbles in the cake and icing. It was so rich and full of flavor. My family loved it and will definitely be back to try another cake. I ordered it online and received great communication via text about pick-up time and if I wanted anything written on the top. The location is the Vallejo Food Pickup location which has a ton of restaurants under one roof. Morgan brought the cake out to my car for pick-up. I called to ask questions about placing an order for my friends birthday (The pick up date was in May and this interaction took place recently here in March. So plenty of time) and he told me to send an email with the cake description and any reference photos. I was told over the phone no deposit was required for birthday cakes (which wasnt an issue either way as I'd planned on paying the entire amount when I got paid as someone else was picking it up.) I sent them a very detailed email with exactly what I wanted; colors, wording, picture, size, everything I was told they'd need and more. I received an email back thanking me for the amount of detail and told me to pay the entire by the 20th and they'd place my order. I asked if it was possible to pay when I got paid on the 25th and have yet to receive an email back almost two weeks later. Not to mention the response I received also did not include where or how to make payment to begin with. So I after about 5 days of no response I called them again and was told she was making frosting and would call me back in about half an hour to which I never received a call. At this point I placed an order somewhere else. $110 was more than I wanted to pay to begin with but I was more than happy to do it because of how much I love my friend but if they don't want my money that's fine with me. After this experience I looked up reviews and saw I'm not the only one that has had issues with their communication. So again if they don't want my money that's fine with me but fair warning they may just ghost you too even if they do initially reply. read more
