This flashed up in my social media. It's on Colfax and we were lucky to find a parking spot right in front of the shop. We wanted to go after dinner one night but it closed at 8 so we went mid-day the next day. What's nice for next time is it comes with a lid so easy to grab and eat later if you want to have an after dinner treat. We decided, heck, let's just eat cake for lunch. I love the concept of building your own cupcake cup essentially. Have never heard of this idea so had to try it. They have SO many topping choices that it took us a minute to decide. And lots of good cake flavors. I ended up getting a medium (which I would've been okay to have a mini). I got Funfetti cake (it was delicious). I got strawberry frosting, lemon lavender drizzle, pretzels, and blackberries. You choose the cake, the frosting, and 3 toppings. I also got an oatmeal cream pie. Ok... so if you love cake/cupcakes - this was delicious! I want to go back and try different flavors. The oatmeal cream pie was also SO GOOD! I love this small local business so I'll definitely be back and they do full cakes so great place to also support and order from. read more

This place is INCREDIBLE and one of a kind. The concept is similar to Cold Stone, but in cake form. You choose your cake batter flavor, frosting flavor, and then whatever toppings you'd like. The people working were so friendly and super helpful. They also had multiple gluten free options! There's not a ton of room inside to sit and eat, but you can get your cake cup to go and walk around the neighborhood. Parking can be a little challenging in this neighborhood, all street parking. read more

Such a neat concept! Perfect for when you're craving cake, but don't want to buy an entire one. I got the strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream, and it includes 3 toppings, so I chose the lemon lavender drizzle, fresh strawberries and toasted coconut flakes. I was really impressed! The cake was delicious and ultra moist. The buttercream was a bit sweet for my taste, but that's subjective. The toppings really pulled everything together and overall it was a neat experience. Friendly staff, quick service. It is a small shop so be aware of that if you're coming with a group! Definitely a to-go spot for when those sweet tooth cravings hit. read more

My friend found this spot for us to try on our Denver trip. I hadn't heard of this place so I was so glad she added it to our list to visit! The staff member was one of the happiest, most positive people I'd interacted with in a long time. Just talking with them made me happy too, and I didn't even have the cake yet! I got a mini BYO cake: yellow cake, maple vanilla frosting, & peanut butter cookie crumbles/macadamia nuts/blackberries. Cake was super moist. Frosting was perfectly mapley & a perfect thickness! I wish I got more on cookie crumbles because the bite I had was so yummy. The berries and macadamia nuts were good too. Such a fun treat! The mini was a perfect size. After my friend and I ordered our cake, we found out that we could've chosen two cake bases- so pro tip if you want to have two different cakes, just ask! The shop had examples of their beautiful full cakes on display. There is a small window bench if you want to eat your cake there. read more

Having been to City O City and Off the Bottle Refill Shop a few times, I had been meaning to try this all-vegan cake bar on the same block for a long time! I got the new smores flavor mini cake cup and someone else in the store was buying the birthday cake pictured below. The cake cup was so sweet and delicious, a truly perfect pick-me-up. The staff member was super friendly and told me that she had loved going there so much that she had to join the team! The store itself is small and super cute, with merch like shirts, totes, stickers, and more. It's a carry-out place, and I can't wait to order a cake in the future, and I'll most certainly get desserts here for my future wedding . This cake was so yummy!!! Crumbly but not as bad as many gluten free vegan cakes/pastries are. The strawberry layer was my fav. The aesthetic was on point with my Lover themed bachelorette party (though my friend who organized was disappointed they added so much yellow when she sent them inspo clearly lacking yellow, so maybe be super duper specific to make sure it comes out just how you want.) can't comment on pricing but was ready for pickup right when we stopped by the place! read more

I was vegan for a quick second in my early 20s, and I once tried a vegan chocolate cake that swear tasted like beans. While I'm not vegan now, I tried a bite of the cake bar at one of RiNo's markets and was so impressed by their vanilla cake with vanilla icing that I had to go check them out! They have tons of treats, but the most fun part for me? The make-your-own cake bowl so you pick a base, icing, and up to three toppings. Even if you're not vegan, this bakery is fantastic and everyone should try it! I know I'll be a long-term customer. read more

A friend and I were craving dessert after teaching a workout. What a concept! You pick out your cake, frosting, and toppings. They also sell tons of fun things like ice cream, pastries, etc. I had yellow cake with cookies & cream frosting, caramel, graham cracker, and oreo cookie pieces. This is not a dry cup of cake. It tastes almost as though it is mixed with frosting, similar texture to the inside of a cake pop. It's smooth, moist, creamy, it melts in your mouth. I'm obsessed. My friend opted for more fruity options, lemon base, strawberry buttercream, lemon lavendar drizzle, strawberries, and strawberry oreo pieces. She has a ton of allergies so it was so nice to see a place using allergen friendly ingredients. It's a smaller shop, minimal seating but the bench by the window is comfy, super colorful and cute vibe. Both individuals that were working were so kind & helpful! We really enjoyed our trip here and will be back. Only downside is street parking but hey, that's downtown. Support small business! Support small, female owned, black owned, lgbtq+ owned business! Delightful little confectionary hole-in-the-wall near the capitable. (Read that as written...it's fun...emphasis on the first syllable.) We were in town to see a few of my son's LDS mission haunts, and stopped here to say hi and taste the treats. The mini cupcake cup is small, but packs a wallop! It would have been enough of my 3 person family to share...so rich and frostingy. My lemon based cup was fantastic. Because I had my own, I really did make it last a few days. Super nice people here. I have been here several times for a cake cup and have never been disappointed. They are always so friendly and even offered frosting samples my first time in. I am a huge fan of the carrot cake, which is extremely moist and well-spiced. I'm not vegan and don't typically go for vegan desserts, but the carrot cake is one of the best I've ever had. The frostings can be a bit too sweet and overwhelming, so I would recommend ordering light frosting if that is an issue for you. The price of the cake cup also includes toppings which I appreciate, and the cookie dough is very good. They also sell a variety of other vegan desserts which I have not tried, but they all look delicious. Definitely check this place out for a fun treat! read more

Soooo delicious! And I love that they're vegan and you can customize your cupcake. We each got a medium, but we probably should have done the mini. The medium is a decent size that it could be split between 2 people. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The shop is clean with lots of colorful decor. They have a display of other candies, goodies, and candles in case you need some for your cupcake/cake. Unfortunately, there's not really any seating. They do have a little window bench seat, but that's it. We took ours back home and ate them over a plate, especially with all the toppings! read more

My youngest is allergic to egg, so I came here for the vegan cupcakes for her 2nd birthday. I got the strawberry one with Oreo crumbles ($6) and the gluten free Funfetti ($6,50). The strawberry was really good. The GF one was dry and crumbly, not my favorite. My daughter loved both because she loves anything sweet. I really like the creative concept of this place with customizing cake cups, so I'll have to try that another time. I would totally recommend The Cake Bar if you're looking for a custom cake! I think their prices are fair, and they definitely take your budget into consideration to make a cake you'll love. I ordered a two layer, 6 inch vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream fosting and it was about $60 with the add ons I wanted! It comfortably fed 4 people with leftovers, not to mention it tasted so good (and I'm more of a chocolate person)! I ordered it about a week in advance. read more

I ordered from the cake bar 2 days before my husband's birthday and was able to order customized cupcakes. The cupcakes were not only so beautiful but incredibly delicious and moist! I literally said "this might be the best cupcake I've ever had." They were definitely pricey but I felt like it was worth it for how last minute I ordered them and how incredibly wonderful they turned out. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful that I interacted with and helped make my vision of what I wanted come to life! I actually saw this place from a social media post and once I saw it was vegan AND GF I was soooooo excited! And THEN I saw you could "make your own personal cake" and I knew I had to go. My husband and I went in yesterday and I got a GF chocolate base, maple vanilla frosting, chocolate drizzle, coconut flakes and peanuts. OMG it was SOOOOO delicious! A vegan blessing for sure! The cupcakes are moist and delicious. It is the best sweets I've had in a long time. I have had nonvegans try solstice sweets items sold there and say it's much better than the originals. I was keen to come originally because I had seen there was the Vegan KitKats available in store, but amazed at the quality of the baked goods. I think I transcended to another universe with this first bite of cake. I was worried the Oreo-vanilla frosting would be too sweet, but it was the absolute perfect mixture of flavorful and tasty without being overbearingly sweet . Wow oh wow. Worth every single calorie!! Bravo! My review is for an order placed on a meal delivery service. I ordered a mini cake and was very impressed with the packing. If you can't tell, the shop places my order within a larger cup which kept it protected and unharmed; even after the delivery driver delivered the cup upside down. My cake was a lemon base with vanilla buttercream frosting and fresh fruit. Look at those berries!! I'm lucky if I can find berries that nice in the store. The flavor of both the cake and buttercream was divine. The cake was moist and dense (in the best way). If you did a blind tasting you would never guess this is vegan. Was looking for a fun spot to take my guy for a special birthday treat and stumbled upon The Cake Bar, and OMG I'm so glad we did! I literally can't say enough great things about our experience and can't wait to come back! From the moment we walked in we were warmly welcomed and stood in wonder at all the fun choices for our cake cup which is one of the coolest iterations of a cake I've seen in a long time. I was excited to check out the grand opening of this new vegan bakery. Although I'm not a vegan, I am a dessertaholic, so of course, I added this to my must visit places. The opening was great! As one of the first 30 guests in line, I was presented with a nice gift bag with some vegan and sustainable goodies. Located downtown, near other vegan restaurants, it is very convenient to pick up your favorite treats on the way to a party or for a pick me up on the way home. The store is small and vibrant. They have a wall of local vendors' items to look at while you wait in line. I ordered a cupcake cup with chocolate cake and vanilla coffee frosting. The bakery works with other vegan bakeries, which they display next to the cupcake. In addition to the cupcake cup, I purchased a vegan "Zebra Cake". The space inside Denver Central Market makes it easy to pop in and hang out for a bit. We tried a few things and everything was really solid. The Eggs Benedict on a croissant stood out, and you can tell they take their baking seriously. Their "Queens" (their version of a kouign-amann) are especially worth trying. They also use high quality, locally sourced ingredients, and it shows in the flavor. Go for the cake, but definitely stay for more.

The vanilla custard bun was simply the right size for me (I not too long ago had just had my late breakfast so I was still quite full from it.) Perfectly brown on some of the custard on top. This Portuguese style dessert is a staple at any bakery or dessert shop. It's moist and yet the flaky out layers made the perfect sound as I bit into it. As of this writing, I haven't had the baguette yet but I can only imagine how delicious it would be (as the kind lady upfront was telling other customer that.) For a great business like GetRight's, I do the drive to get to it from my southeast Denver home. It's my utmost duty to support them.

So it is a very convenient location for the RiNo area. Service: The customer service throughout the market is great. Over at Izzio Bakery, everyone is super kind and helpful while you're looking at their amazing pastry display. Even with a line, you're usually only waiting about 10 to 12 minutes for your items. Food: The food variety here is incredible. I tried the Sun City breakfast bagel sandwich from Call Your Mother and the hot honey was the perfect balance of sweet and spice on a toasted bagel. For a sweet treat, I went to Izzio Bakery for the Dulce de Leche Queen. The pastry case there looks like something out of a movie. The pastry itself was perfectly crisp on the outside with a delicious yellow vanilla cream and cinnamon on the inside. Overall Experience: Overall, I really enjoy coming here and trying new places. I could eat a thousand of these, they were the clear winner for us. - Sunflower Sourdough: Good, but not amazing. Though I might be biased because I make sourdough at home. It has a great sour flavor, but after three days the crust got so hard it hurt your mouth to eat. If you plan to use the bread within a couple of days, I'd recommend trying it. - Santiago's Flourless Tart: The perfect amount of sweetness with hints of lemon, vanilla, and almond. It was incredibly moist and delicious--I'd come back just for this. Reunion Bakery is located in the Source Food Hall in RiNo but will be moving to South Pearl Street at the end of the month. Reunion Bakery is a MUST-visit.
