Body looked great but that was just about it as I soon discovered. First thing was driver's seat wouldn't raise or lower so they kept the car for 2 weeks on the pretext of fixing it. Little did I know the real reason they didn't want me driving it back to Nevada that day was because 1) I would have had to fill the gas tank and seen that the tank level sensors weren't working as would only register between empty or 1/2 full, 2) the car would have overheated as radiator wasn't functional , Ac condenser bad which I would have discovered on way back to Nevada if I even made it that far- and would have returned the car that day before the check cleared. On delivery 2 weeks later after being unloaded from car shipping trailer- the battery was dead and had to be replaced. The gas tank registered empty and when I filled it- it only came up to 1/2 full. Repairs needed immediately- radiator, AC condenser, gas tank had to be removed to replace sensors, rough ride so new shocks then discovered it was the bushing ends that needed repair. New tires as tires bad and new headlights as likewise bad. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. 11k spent on repairs but final insult recently was when instrument cluster failed and I had to pay 2500 for a new cluster and to have it cloned to old one. Suddenly an air bag light was present- the shop discovered a piece of paper in the old cluster when they pulled it that was covering the air bag warning light explaining why I suddenly had an air bag light showing with the new cluster. Don't know if El Vista did that or they bought the car at auction that way but I do know they knew all the other mentioned things were bad as had the car 2 weeks going over everything so were aware of all the issues. Also they never fixed the seat which they used as a reason to prevent me driving the car home that day.. Very sketchy auto sales. Don't buy from them. I'm now in process of getting air bag issue fixed after already putting in $13, 500 into car for repairs to date and that was not counting the initial $6,995 cost to purchase car. Unusual is this location has tons of asphalt and better selection of parts than some bay area…read morelocations. Currently lots of Chevy S10 trucks and mid 90s in great condition. I was very surprised to see all the asphalt here. 90% of it including the major walkways. Most PickNpulls are all on gravel. The major problem is its easy to loose sockets and screws that you might drop. Also its a bit slower to walk on and to maybe roll something heavy on. Currently lots of Chevy s10s with really great interiors. I'm not sure why but they weren't all picked at as most other locations would have been. Got some visors - in better condition than mine. Had been looking for years - never found anything decent. Mine are saggy and my passenger side has the mirror cover broken off - no longer. Also got a minor thing that was missing from my truck - a tail gate liner. Went to check the w123 340d. It was fresh on the lot. Grabbed a dashboard cover but really wanted the cluster which was already gone. It was a 4 speed with blue interior that was in great condition. The driver seat looked almost perfect with exception for one tiny portion of piping. These seats tend to wear like iron but after 40 years they are getting rare. People snap them up fast. Took a look at the domestics. Saw an Achieva and a similar year 94 Grand AM. Those are basically the same cars - but the Oldsmobile had a much better interior fabric quality. I never looked inside one of those - but remember them all over 30 years ago. I can't remember the last time I saw one on the road. Prices are ok. If you a coupon shopper - there is a toolkit reward and certain parts are on sale at certain times.
