I'm happy to support small, local family-owned farms! Cal Yee is located in Suisun in Solano County, and I've been a patron/fan of their jumbo pistachios and dried apricots ever since my Fairfield-based then-coworker introduced them to me around Christmas time '10. Had a family friend visiting Sacramento for the first time from Texas, and I wanted to give her something "California" and "farm-to-table" and nothing terribly perishable or hard to transport in carry-on luggage (like olive oil or honey). I immediately thought of them for their fruits and nuts! Ikeda's Davis was my second pick, but not much on their online store. It was super easy and convenient to place an online order on the Cal Yee Farms web shop, and I went with the "Deluxe Gift Basket" (Item# 3001) which had: [Dried] Apricots, Pears, Nectarines, Peaches, Prunes, Tangy Peaches-Pear Rolls, Cranberries, and Roasted and Salted Pistachios ($55+S&H). Order placed on a Wednesday, email order confirmation received. I called the next day to ask about information regarding order-specific shipping speed/times/tracking, and the lady had shipped it out Thursday for Friday arrival in Elk Grove. Awesome! It did arrive on Friday in great condition. Apologies for not having a photo of the actual basket it came in. I've not yet been to the farm in person, so I can't comment on the ambiance of the store, but I do mean to check it out in the future. You can also order by phone. After years of hearing about this place I decided to finally go. My allergies have been hitting me hard and worse when I visit my boyfriend. So finally my boyfriend convinced me to try out local honey, at least a teaspoon a day to fend off my allergies. I remembered Cal Yee farms from other Yelp reviews and decided to stop by. Stopped in for some snacks this evening. This place never disappoints. I love to get the Mango with chili, such a good mix of sweet and spicy. Always a nice welcome from staff when you come in the doors. This place is really clean and organized. Today my fiancé and I got mango with chili, yogurt pretzels, a couple sodas, and a small bag of dried mandarin to try them out. I like that they have the .25 cent bag options, I think it's a great way to try something you haven't had before without having to buy the entire bag. They also have local honey! The lady that checks us out is always so friendly. I think this place is such a cute, well priced, hidden gem. My grandma showed me this place when I was in high school, and I rarely get a chance to come out this way, so glad I stopped by today. read more

Going on 69 years. This mom and pop business is putting out quality dried fruit and nuts. It's been several years since I took a drive up to Fairfield. Had to make a stop. Got my crystallized ginger for baking. Can't find it as good anywhere in the Bay Area. The walnuts and pecans were so fresh. Reasonable prices. Luck I'm off on Fridays otherwise I'd miss being able to come to this store since they are opened only Monday - Friday. Friendly staff. When my MIL pulled up to this place, she was wondering what kind of dump we were taking her to. The building is unimpressive after she was spoiled rotten by a trip to The Donum Estate so she had high expectations for everything. Well, the food here delivered. The shop is small but everything we bought was delicious! And the prices were so good too. She tried to come back a second time to get more goodies but we didn't realize the shop was closed on weekends. As much as I hate that they're closed on weekends and the place kind of looks like a dump, there's no denying that the food is delicious. My MIL has a sweet tooth and loved the persimmon rolls. I have been visiting Cal Yee Farms in Green Valley to purchase natural bee's honey for well over 20 years. Apparently, during the Covid-19 shut downs, some thief(s) stole all of their bee's hives, so now, California Yee must buy their bee's honey from somewhere else. My main benefit of consuming local bee's honey is the collection of the local pollens. I like to consume as many seasons that they are able to collect and to market in their big six-pound square plastic jars. For over the past month, California Yee has been out of the large jars and are apparently helpless to buy more from their source. I have spoken to them about self performing the honey production once again, but they have no interest and are apparently presently incapable. Unfortunately, due to their outsourcing, they no longer deserve my business as they are not producing Iocal bee's honey any longer. The bee's honey containers at Cal Yee Farms each have a Cal Yee Farms sticker on them which are 100% misleading and non-transparent as to its product's origin. I am happy to take my business elsewhere. read more

While lost searching for a spot to photograph the sunset, I decided to beat a track to this place as I really enjoy fried fruits and nuts. YES, this place is out in the boonies and I thought I was lost at first as the GPS stated I had already passed them. There is a big sign at the side of the road but this doesn't look like any shopping center you've ever seen. With your entry you'll probably wake up the four dogs but they are harmless. A friendly soul awaits you here, and for those who love photography, there's a great number of old trucks and cars, plus farm equipment to snap, plus the trees are simply amazing!!! Having lived in southern Spain for 15 years, I picked up a small bag of salted Squash seeds of which I've had a few since leaving Andalucia but didn't like them at all; these were great and flavored with a touch of anise. A long drive seemingly lost but well-worth it if you really want some great fruit products, plus a lot of family history. UPDATE 5 Jan: The one bag of salted Squash seeds I got? I've been eating them like crazee since purchase and am planning yet another trip solely to buy more. This time I'll leave the shop with at least three 1lb bags 6 Jan: Am still eating the last of these seeds. They are really good!!! This is a family run business offering the absolute best quality fruits and nuts, picked fresh from the vine or branch. Pricing is MUCH better than you can find in the stores. We liked the chili mangoes and dried pears. Even products which are not locally grown, like the freeze-dried vegetables - are sold cheaper than you can find in any store. The store is located about a mile north-west of Mankas Corner in Fairfield. It is very scenic and peaceful there, and you can make a family afternoon of it going biking and shopping at Larry's produce as well (which is nearby). read more

We love this place. It is a little dried fruit store out on the farm. The store has lots of dried fruits, trail mixes, nuts, olive oil, honey, and some sweets too. We like to make a trip down to Cal Yee Farms at this time of year so that we can send packages to a few friends and relatives for the holidays. All you have to do is ask for a flat rate box and load it up. They will take care of the rest of it for you so it's easy. They also have some gift baskets and the prices are very reasonable. This is a local small business that does just what big mail order companies do. But CYF does it a whole lot better, the product is three time better and the price is a fraction of what the big boys charge. If you go to Mankas Corner and/or some of the wineries in Susuin Valley, stop by Cal Yee's and you'll be happy that you did. read more

This is a great place to get seasonal snacks like pumpkin seeds, dried strawberries, and freeze dried apples. I like to come here before road trips to avoid eating chips the whole way. Yum. Like others said, it's a quaint little place down a country road.. Cute little business with super friendly people at the counter. They have all kinds of fruits, seeds, nuts, olive oils, etc. that you'd see in other similar places, and a few items that are a little unique. The mixed veggie chips are stellar. Nice little store selling dried fruits, nuts and other seeds, honey and jam. Very friendly staff. You can taste most items before you buy which is helpful. I wish they had their opening hours posted on their website but you can call ahead to make sure they are open. It seems they are open 7 days a week, I think until 4pm on weekends and 5pm on weekdays. I don't know if they are any cheaper than other places. They don't appear cheap to me but everything I have had from this place has been very good and it is a local business which I am happy to support. Also, they have a good selection so you may be able to find things here that are hard to find. I was a little disappointed that most things are not local. Though most dried fruits and most nuts are from California, hardly anything is from Suisun Valley. It seems that they mostly sell things from the Central Valley and don't actually make much themselves. But the honey is local and they sell jam from the Ericson Ranch. read more
