I can't wait for my next manicure! I've come here about five times now, and I look forward to every excuse to get my nails done at this salon! I'm generally an introvert, so I tend to get easily overwhelmed at many beauty parlors where there's a lot of talking involved. Here, it's very laid back and very efficient. Everyone I've gotten to meet at this "Calabasas Nails Spa" is incredible and has a wonderful eye for detail and attentive service. I've personally had the pleasure of having my nails done by Lee, and Mimi! These lovely ladies are so gentle, impeccably thorough, and quick! They also know their craft incredibly well to make recommendations regarding color and other decorative elements! I always come in for the same treatment, Gel-X Extensions with CatEye Polish. It was thanks to Lee for pointing out that darker bases will help the CatEye effect stand out more! I've yet to try them, but I see a lot of folks come in for the foot baths and they do look really amazing. I'm tempted to get a pedicure here at some point! I should mention that I am a serious nail-biter and am very sensitive to having my hands or feet touched, especially with any kind of metal tools involved. Most salons are not sensitive to this and tend to get very rough or abrasive with me, which is uncomfortable as you can imagine. Not a problem with this place! If you are in the mood for a quiet, serene experience, you will not find a better spa who cares more about comfort or beauty than here! My one comment to newbies: they are professionals and know what they're doing! They generally check in with you at specific stages, so don't feel the need to adjust how they're working on your nails. If I could, I'd give zero stars. I get my nails done regularly (every 3-4 weeks) and even when I'm traveling and have never had such a poor experience. To begin, I had a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure to Calabasas Nails Spa. When I made my appointment, I asked if I could just get a dip manicure for the cost of the certificate and they said it's fine. When I went to tip for my service, they told me it's $25 additional. Ok fine. It's not even 48 hours later and one of my nails has a bubble (never experienced this before) and another one broke (again, never had this experience with dip). I was visiting family and don't live anywhere near Calabasas (I'm in Northern California) and called them back asking simply for a refund of my additional $25, keep the gift card. I was told I can come in to get them fixed and when I told them I don't live in the area, they HUNG UP ON ME! What the hell? I would not recommend to anybody. read more

I do not recommend this business. I have been here several times over the past few months and I won't go back again. I have been charged two different prices for the same type of manicure so their pricing is not transparent. When I questioned the price increase, the receptionist just repeated the price. Be prepared as they only accept cash tips for their manicurists. Also, very few of the ladies speak English so communication is difficult. I recently had a gel tip manicure and it was a disaster. My fingers looked like she applied a man's sized nails - they were large, thick and chunky despite me showing the lady a photo of what I wanted. When I mentioned the problem, she seemed to be blaming me for the disastrous outcome. I would recommend making a different choice at just about anywhere. read more

Some months ago, I thought I had found a great nail salon close to our home. It is tranquil, without tv's blasting, soft music, clean and designed nicely and even though the pedicures weren't great the owner did a nice job on my gel manicure. But yesterday will be the last time for me. Tranquil is nice but silence is just uncomfortable. From the very first visit Mimi the owner was unfriendly and never spoke to me or anyone else. She makes zero effort to show kindness or appreciation to her clients. The few people who give pedicures ( she is the only one who does nails) never speak to customers or each other. It such an uncomfortable and weird atmosphere. You get the feeling she either hates what she does or hates the people who come in. I am friendly and tried to make conversation but without any response. And yes she does speak English, but as many others have said she is simply a rude woman with a terrible attitude and it became a place I no longer wanted to enter because the place feels so unwelcoming. The only thing Mimi ever said to me was accusing me of making an apt for gel and pedicure. When I made apt her husband asked if I wanted a pedicure and I said no. After defending myself she literally accused me again. Crazy! Also they don't post prices. Every time it was a more expensive cost. This time for gel and one broken thumb nail she charged me $50.00. It's been a while since I have given a review to this place. I was probably one of the very first ones to give this place their review since this owner. Customer service is great. The owner Ong and Mimi - nice couple. They are very accommodating. The salon offers bottled water, hot tea or coffee upon entering. They have different levels of services regular, delux, etc. All the girls there nice and friendly. They take their time to massage and they don't rush you to get done. They have a big selection of OPI, Essie, etc.. nail polish. All colors are there. Lyn is my go to. Jen is very good as well. I have had services with almost every single one of them and they are all good. I recommend this place. Clean place. If there's only thing I can suggest to the owners is to get an upgrade on the massage chairs. They were nice when they first opened, but it's been couple of years now. I went in asking them to do a ombre style fade on my nails. Instead of telling me that they did not know how to do it, this place decided to take my money and then leave my nails looking like they were just ten thick balls of paint that looks like they were done by someone who had never done this type of work before. I went in today late afternoon with an appt. for mani/pedi. Before I sat down I asked how much since nothing is posted. The man at the desk said $45 for both. I had a gift certificate for $30 which was half used and that was my balance. The certificate was about 4 years old (since I moved away after the first visit), but originally the mgr. said no expiration date, and there is none on the certificate. The lady gave me a mani/pedi it was ok nothing remarkable, but ok. She massaged my feet for about 3 min. and used the loofah to smooth my heal. (Which you get with any pedi.). I went to pay and he complained that my certif. is old, but he'll accept it anyway. Then he said That will be $55. I said so you're including my tip? He said no you still have to give her a tip and he kept $10 of my change for her tip on top of that. I said no you told me $45, then some woman came over (probably his wife) and said well she smoothed your heel that was $10 extra. I said that's always in a pedicure, she argued with me that it was not included. I said well why didn't she ask me and tell me it was $10 extra? To get to my point these people are dishonest, liars and should not be allowed to have a business privilege in the U.S. They don't post their prices, so they can surprise you when it comes to pay. I get my nails done every 10 days, and have never been treated like this anywhere else. IF I WERE ABLE TO GIVE HER A RATING IT WOULD BE 00000000 one star is way too much. read more

Yay! Under New management I'm so happy I found this nail spa the staff is professional and my nails are finally the shape I wanted and they do nail art. My regular girl left out of state and I love my nail art not everyone can do it professionally especially here in Calabasas you need to go other areas that specialize in nail art but finally there is a nice new clean place that uses HIGH-QUALITY products and you will see the difference in your nails how they last and it matters when you do them long term or even just for sanitary reasons .Highly recommend this nail spa if you are looking for quality and they take the time so it's actually relaxing atmosphere as well. People who are saying Lyn does an amazing job, obviously have no idea what a good manicure is. I need to find a new manicurist, looked at the reviews of this place and decided to try. I called for the appointment and ask to give me a manicurist, who really knows what she is doing, I need the cuticle clean, and apply gel polish perfectly, because I am very picky. So, they gave me Lynn. It was a disaster! She wasn't going to clean my cuticle, and I regret to ask her to do it. She has no idea how to cut the cuticle. Now the skin around my nail is all peeling. She shortened my nails with the machine, after the machine, they need to use the file to make them a nice shape, smooth and even. Nope, she puts down the machine, takes gel, and wants to start to put it on. My nails are all uneven, extremely sharp, and awful. So I tell her she needs to file them, clean my cuticle, and then maybe she can put the polish on. I wish I left right then. If you only could see how she applied the polish. It's all awfully sick, uneven, the edges not polished at all, the polish was running on the sides. The ends of the nails are twice as thick as the rest of them. As I said. I am very picky, I always have a manicure done, you would NEVER see me without a manicure. I couldn't even look at my nails. After spending $90, I had to go in less than a week and re-do them. I used to live in Beverly Hills and did my nails there. So I drove to BH from Calabasas to get my nails done. So far I can't find any place here that can do a good job. And I don't want to pay $160 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I don't recommend this place if you know what a good manicure is, you will be very disappointed. Also, they don't sanitize their tools. If you just want to wash your feet and have polish applied by a blind person, then be my guest. But this is the case for most of the nail places, unfortunately. It is very hard to find someone who knows what they are doing. read more

I absolutely love this nail spa! I have been getting my acrylic nails done by Mimi for about 10 years now and i always get compliments on how classy and beautiful my nails look. I like my acrylic nails to be thin profiled and natural looking and Mimi consistently styles my nails how I like them. If you can't decide on a nail color I recommend letting Mimi help you pick. She is phenomenal at analyzing your skin tone and selecting what will compliment you best. I left humiliated & with sore hands. My gut told me she had NO idea what she was doing, but I let her do her work anyway. This woman was ROUGH on my hands. I work with my hands, so they need to be in tip-top shape, daily. This woman contorted my hands into unnatural positions, filed my skin & cut my skin with her filing. I went with a friend who just had a baby & took the time to get my nails done in what should normally take about 40 minutes; took us 2 FULL HOURS. My hands are still sore & my original nail tech had trouble removing whatever they put onto my nails. Instead of completely removing my original dip nails, she simply added more to it & the nail polish looked like I had a 5 year old paint them with a crayola marker. The color was inconsistent, spotty & did not even match the available demo that I had to choose from. There was no rectifying the situation; she made my cuticles bleed & I could NOT stand another moment of her twisting my fingers to try & file off her own terrible work. I will never come back here; nor will I encourage my local friends in the area to come here. There is no regard for customer service; I stood at the desk waiting to be assisted while patrons stared at me & the man at the desk poured himself another can of Coke. What a nightmare experience. I came here two weeks ago for a dip manicure. The lady applied too much top powder coat, leaving the finished product with a cloudy finish. I was upset about it initially because with tip, it's $48 so I expect a good manicure. Then a week later, my thumb nail fell off without even doing any serious physical activity. I went to get it fixed and she fixed it for no charge. Then the next day, my pointer nail fell off and so did my middle finger. I've never had this happen with dip manicures.
