I've had local anesthesia before where the shots were the worst part, but this time it was noticeably easier. Everything felt efficient, calm, and confident. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. Kristen (the blonde office manager) was warm and welcoming, and Leslie assisted during the procedure and made everything feel seamless. They were helpful as a whole team, and that really matters to me. Today I just feel a little sore and bruised, which feels completely manageable. In all of my life, I have never been to a worst dental office. If I had not paid for my implants up front, I would not ever come here again. In my first visit I was scheduled to see the dentist on a Monday for surgery. The Sunday night before the surgery he canceled. And since I had already requested a day off from work for this, I lost a sick day. At my work, once the day off has been approved it cannot be reversed. But this happened again when I was scheduled for a deep cleaning. It was supposed to be on a Monday. They sent me an email the Sunday night before my visit to cancel it. Another sick day lost. We only get four sick days a year. Fortunately, a week later I was able to schedule a deep cleaning with my old dentist and did manage to get my deep cleaning done. Another sick day lost because these deep cleanings are painful and it takes time for me to recover. Then two weeks ago I was supposed to get a teeth whitening. When I was there, I told them that I was concerned because my teeth are very sensitive and normally this sort of thing causes me a lot of pain. I asked if I could be numbed prior to the treatment. The dental hygienist said that it would be possible but only the doctor could apply the numbing. And the doctor was not there. She said that she would ask if there was something else they could do. Then this other dental hygienist walks in - a real Mr. know it all. He starts by calling me 'Buddy". I don't like to be patronized so that discussion started the wrong way. Then he went on to pontificate about teeth sensitivity and why I my teeth should not be so sensitive. Finally, I interrupted him and said, "But everyone is different. And my teeth are especially sensitive." He dismissed that by saying that in my case, "Applying numbing to my teeth would be 'too much'". What does that mean, "Too much?" Are my teeth going to all fall out? Am I going to have a heart attack? I don't think so. I have had my teeth numbed for this sort of thing before. Obviously, he did not know what he was talking about. He just wanted me to get the whitening done even if I had to suffer through it. I left demanding my money back but lost another three hours of sick time. Then today, I went back to have some more work towards having my implants put in. My appointment was at 4 PM and I arrived ten minutes early. But I waited until FIVE PM and the doctor had not shown up yet. I had to reschedule. Another three hours sick time lost for me. These people do not care about their patients. At all. They smile and they are pleasant but all they care about is making money. If you are smart you will go where the dentists provide quality care and service. I wish that I had never heard of Calabasas Smiles. I am going back to my old dentist. He might be more expensive but at least he is very professional. read more

I was pretty nervous leading up to the surgery, but Dr. Shad was extremely professional and provided the highest quality care throughout the entire process. I went to this dentist for an implant of a molar. worst experience of my life. I was there for 3 hours every time I had to come in. First they tried putting another patients crown in my implant, I stopped that after 20 minutes of the assistant grinding on it. my implant was done completely wrong, the screw kept coming loose, I finally had to go to a different dentist to put in a longer screw and pack material on top of it so it wouldn't come loose again from chewing. also note, the assistant seated my implant, which is the dentist job, but I only saw him when he was trying to get more work out of me. read more

I've been way pass due on my Dental check ups. Let's just say Pandemic threw everyone off our Health Care check ups. So, I finally made it to this new Dental office. I'm always nervous to go into a new medical provider, weary of the over charges that can rack up very easily. I knew for a fact I was going to need some major cleaning and god knows what else they may find. When I walked into the office I checked in & was greeted right away. I immediately felt a warm and inviting welcome which put me at ease instantly. I must of waited no more than 10 minutes and the Dental assistant Karina got to work with me right away and was so sweet with me Then followed the beautiful Dr. Rebecca, she examined my teeth explained my options, answered all my questions and concerns. She was so patient and thorough throughout my entire examination. And as I mentioned, that I was in desperate need of a major teeth cleaning. I was told that I maybe accommodated If there was time, but I didn't hold my breath. I was just happy to be able to get an appointment within 24 hours. Once Dr. Rebecca was done with her exam, I was given the good news that they would be able to do my cleaning on the same day. I would just have to way a few minutes. I was beyond excited and very thankful that they were able to fit me in and didn't mind waiting at all. Adrian, is the Awesome Hygienist! He is such a cool guy! If you are looking for a trustworthy, safe and gentle dentist you should go to Calabasas Smiles. I have been a patient for years and I'm someone who is particularly afraid of the dentist. Dr. Payam Khalepari ("Doctor K") and his entire staff are so patient with me and do everything they can to calm my irrational fear of the dentist. They always go above and beyond to make sure I have a pleasant experience. This doctor cares about his patients, we are not just insurance billing for him. He cares about our teeth and our health. He will never recommend unnecessary work. He will be 100% honest with you. I was especially nervous about going to the dentist during the pandemic but Dr. Khalepari installed a special air filtration system in the office that is used in hospital operating rooms to suck out the air to prevent patients from being infected with anything during surgery. This air filtration system isn't something he was required to install, he just wanted to go above and beyond to protect his patients. Everything is very sterilized between patients and I felt so safe during the entire visit. My teeth always look great after a cleaning by Jackie! Jackie is so kind and patient with me every visit. She remembers me every time and she does a lot to make sure I'm comfortable. At the end of my visit I'm given a warm lavender scented towel to wipe off my face and it feels like a day at the spa rather than a teeth cleaning. I imagine they went out of their way to make it peaceful as well when the interior was originally designed, because it was almost spa-like for a dental office. The service was just as great.
