Dr. Edmond Mgdesyan is super gentle and caring! Dr. Ed is amazing. His assistant is awesome. Very reasonable rates & absolutely zero effort to up-sell (which is very common among most dentists). Do NOT make mistake to underestimate the quality of work done by Dr. Ed when I said *very reasonable rates*. As a fact his service is top notch which you will expect in high end clinics that cost you triple the price. I can comfortably say, this clinic is ACTUALLY an high end clinic & you will be shocked with his quotes that compare to those cheap dentists. That is because Dr. Ed is very honest person & hard working. He puts his heart in your well being. I went there with some issues. Dr. Ed recommended extracting 3 teeth (2 of them being wisdom tooth), which I already knew that I needed because of my visits to other dentists, in recent past, which were not only expensive but scary about the quality. Dr. Ed's professionalism convinced me that he would take good care of me. It was absolutely painless experience. I was first scared of pain but he convinced me & on top of that, his assistant comforted me big time during the process. Now after 2 days of the process, I see that recovery is amazingly fast with no issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Ed's clinic to anybody from all my heart. First and foremost, the entire team at Malibu Canyon Dental is courteous, helpful, friendly and professional! I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Mgdesyan who has a low pain method of removing them, I didn't even realize when the procedure had been completed. They sent me home with instructions and complimentary gauzes. I made sure to follow instructions and within 2 weeks my wounds just about heeled I didn't experience complications as I was also given a syringe to spray/clean my wounds of any food particles to avoid infection. I don't have dental insurance, however their prices are reasonable. I am grateful to have found my go-to dentist after so many years of not having one. read more

Having gone to dental school with Dr. Mgdesyan, I knew I wanted him as my dentist. He is a clinical professor at USC and has been teaching for over 10 years. He has amazing clinical skills, and is extremely knowledgeable and current in the field of dentistry. Recently I had to visit Dr. Mgdesyan for some dental needs. He spent the time to listen to my concerns and was very thorough in his explanation of the recommended treatment. After answering all my questions we proceeded with the procedure. He was gentle and efficient throughout the process. I've been going to Dr. M for a number of years now and am only finally getting around to reviewing him (sorry for the delay). He's great. His staff is great (Seriously, I love chatting with my girl, Lucy!). My appointments always start on time (which has not always been my experience with other dentists/doctors). He's super friendly, and his "new" dental hygienist is also friendly and does good work. Dr. M is interested in all components of my teeth. I have (over the years) had a couple chips in my front teeth, and he has just "taken care of them" when he was in dealing with a filling. Dr. Mgdesyan, DDS is a very poor dentist! He did put in what he thought were good teeth, Not what you wanted, or what you asked for, but what he thinks is aesthetically pleasing! Then If there is any problems with the teeth, say fit or shape, he will not change them. He'll try to convince you that this is better than what you really wanted. Dr. Mgdesyan left his patient in pain and refused to fix them. He said he tried, but he never did what his patient was asking for! What did she ask for, you say! She brought in pictures of her smile and asked for what she was born with after another dentist broke her front tooth. Dr. Mgdeyan was recommended, and has lots certificates, and awards, it was impressive. BUT HE JUST DOES WHAT, IN HIS OPINION, LOOKS GOOD, NOT WHAT YOU WANT! God forbid that you want your front teeth a little longer than the others!!! I'm talking about 1/32 of an inch longer! Most dentists will fit the new teeth on the patient before PERMANENTLY GLUING THEM IN, BUT NOT HIM HE JUST GLUED THEM IN AND WOULD NOT REDO THEM WHEN ASKED, and he was told that these teeth were not what she'd asked for or was anything like the picture. He made excuses,and finally that these were better. Yeah, if you want to look like YOU HAVE perfect FALSE TEETH! Her smile isn't unique anymore! She HAD a smile that made more beautiful when she smiled. It's like when Renee Zwellweger had her unique nose "FIXED" Now she looks pretty, but is no longer her! She's beautiful, but no longer unique! He refused to refund her money, and would no longer work on her teeth!!! She had paid all the money up front, and we are taking about thousands! But worse, HE LEFT HER IN PAIN!!! Not the correct fit! WHAT CREDIBLE, ETHICAL, DECENT DENTIST DOES THIS? Coming from someone like me, who has been anxious and nervous about dental visits, i was initially scared and very hesitant to try out this practice my friends had recommended. I don't know where to begin. They brought me in, and right away the doctor calmed me down and made me comfortable. I have a feeling that these reviews are biased, as my experience was the complete opposite of what I've read and heard about this dentist and his office! I recently went in for x-rays, a consultation, and a REGULAR cleaning. Long story short, the cleaning was very painful and what I thought was a regular cleaning was charged to my insurance as a deep cleaning. I called the office and complained about this $1,200+ cleaning, as most cleanings are no more than $100, but was then informed that the charge was justified because it was a deep cleaning. However, no one including the dentist, the hygienist, of his other staff mentioned anything about a deep cleaning, nor did they tell me ahead of time that they were going to do such a cleaning. Further, I've gotten deep cleanings done in the past by other dentists and never have any of those deep cleanings been done in one day, let alone done without giving me a shot in my mouth prior to doing so. The hygienist only applied numbing gel on my gums prior to going to town on me, which can explain why the cleaning was so painful. Granted, I would have no issues about having had a deep cleaning and being charged for one if I was informed about it prior, but to find out about it after the fact it was charged to my insurance is unacceptable, not to mention very deceitful! Lastly, I found it very rude and unprofessional that the dentist could not speak with me and answer my questions about additional work needed with me in person. He was totally available, but instead chose to have his receptionist play messenger. I could literally hear her ask him my questions and him answer, so I feel like why couldn't he have gotten up to speak with me directly. At the end of the day, I'm so over this dentist and his office, and will not be referring anyone to them! read more
