Squad Goals!

Just one visit in and everyone has been so professional and awesome! Update: Yesterday was my fourth sitting and I feel like Dr.Gershfeld genuinely cares for his patients. His procedures are painless and he goes the extra mile to ascertain that the procedure is performed in the most conducive means while being easy on us. I can safely say that Dr.G is one of the best healthcare providers I have ever worked with. Thank you for being such an awesome practitioner, sir.

I'm obsessed with their work and I'm completely happy for my big event in the Philippines !!!!!!

Dr. Gershfeld, Carla, and Carrick are PHENOMENAL!!!! I came in for a cleaning and then ended up with my DREAM smile. Their team is impeccable and made my smile happen in miracle time. I wanted my teeth perfect for a huge event in the Philippines, and they exceeded my expectations with my results. I don't even know where to begin. Dr. Gershfeld is always easy to talk to and communicate my dental goals to. Carla is the sweetest and always makes my dental plan and expenses easy to understand. On top of being an supportive team, Dr. G's eye for perfection is amazing. And on top of that I never feel a thing. His injections are barely even felt. He has light hands and it always feels like every procedure is a little one because he's quick and makes it seem painless. I've had 16 teeth worked on and they made it happen in record time. Carla is amazing with communicating what and when I need work done and is great with follow up. After every procedure is done. Carrick makes sure to sit by me and listen to any concerns I have. I'm very particular so if there's anything that I am concerned about they are very attentive to it. I have already recommended them to my friends and family because I trust them with my smile and they deliver. I'm always complimented on my smile and I have the Dr. Gershfeld team to thank!!!! I have never felt like a dental team has my back as much as they have. Watch my link below to see a sample of their work :) This is me on my trip happy with my new smile.

Nice clean office. Open and airy feeling, not claustrophobic.

I did my research before choosing where to get dental implants because it's a big investment. My…read moreregular dentist even encouraged me to shop around. After comparing two other offices, Calabasas Smiles was significantly more reasonable in pricing -- and that stood out immediately. Dr. Michael placed two implants at once, and the experience was far less painful than I expected. I've had local anesthesia before where the shots were the worst part, but this time it was noticeably easier. Everything felt efficient, calm, and confident. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. Kristen (the blonde office manager) was warm and welcoming, and Leslie assisted during the procedure and made everything feel seamless. They were helpful as a whole team, and that really matters to me. Today I just feel a little sore and bruised, which feels completely manageable. I'm very glad I chose them and would absolutely recommend coming here for a consultation.

In all of my life, I have never been to a worst dental office…read more If I had not paid for my implants up front, I would not ever come here again. In my first visit I was scheduled to see the dentist on a Monday for surgery. The Sunday night before the surgery he canceled. And since I had already requested a day off from work for this, I lost a sick day. At my work, once the day off has been approved it cannot be reversed. But this happened again when I was scheduled for a deep cleaning. It was supposed to be on a Monday. They sent me an email the Sunday night before my visit to cancel it. Another sick day lost. We only get four sick days a year. Fortunately, a week later I was able to schedule a deep cleaning with my old dentist and did manage to get my deep cleaning done. Another sick day lost because these deep cleanings are painful and it takes time for me to recover. Then two weeks ago I was supposed to get a teeth whitening. When I was there, I told them that I was concerned because my teeth are very sensitive and normally this sort of thing causes me a lot of pain. I asked if I could be numbed prior to the treatment. The dental hygienist said that it would be possible but only the doctor could apply the numbing. And the doctor was not there. She said that she would ask if there was something else they could do. Then this other dental hygienist walks in - a real Mr. know it all. He starts by calling me 'Buddy". I don't like to be patronized so that discussion started the wrong way. Then he went on to pontificate about teeth sensitivity and why I my teeth should not be so sensitive. Finally, I interrupted him and said, "But everyone is different. And my teeth are especially sensitive." He dismissed that by saying that in my case, "Applying numbing to my teeth would be 'too much'". What does that mean, "Too much?" Are my teeth going to all fall out? Am I going to have a heart attack? I don't think so. I have had my teeth numbed for this sort of thing before. Obviously, he did not know what he was talking about. He just wanted me to get the whitening done even if I had to suffer through it. I left demanding my money back but lost another three hours of sick time. Then today, I went back to have some more work towards having my implants put in. My appointment was at 4 PM and I arrived ten minutes early. But I waited until FIVE PM and the doctor had not shown up yet. I had to reschedule. Another three hours sick time lost for me. These people do not care about their patients. At all. They smile and they are pleasant but all they care about is making money. If you are smart you will go where the dentists provide quality care and service. I wish that I had never heard of Calabasas Smiles. I am going back to my old dentist. He might be more expensive but at least he is very professional.

This place has proven to be exactly what I was hoping it'd be - a place you go when you're tired of…read morehaving your teeth ruined by lesser dentists, and you just want the best work possible, and you don't care what it costs. Of course, I actually care GREATLY what it costs, and I've searched high and low for a reason to NOT like this place (so I'd have an excuse to bail and go somewhere cheaper), but I keep coming up empty, and I keep coming back for more work. This entire practice is like a well-oiled machine. Starting with the entrance, which forces patients to find their way through Pan's Labyrinth before reaching the front door. I assume this is a measure to weed out lesser patients, who will invariably get lost along the way and perish. If you make it through the labrinth, you'll emerge into the Echo Chamber, where you'll find the front desk. Here you'll be met by the front desk staff, who are all extremely friendly and equally competent. The main front desk girl (I call her that, I hope she doesn't mind) actually carries the title of "Treatment Coordinator," and she's part of that well-oiled machine. She'll approach you, and she's very attractive, and friendly, and has a great smile, and then BAM! - she hits you with a clipboard saying they'll fix your teeth in exchange for your firstborn son. I don't mind though - I actually respect the hustle. And make no mistake, dentistry IS a hustle. To me, it inspires confidence that this dentist is smart enough and competent enough to surround himself with attractive, friendly people. That's just good business. And it projects a good image. One of a young dentist who is thirsty and wants to succeed, and who truly believes in his vision. As opposed to the average dentist, who has given up on life, and has a literal 1 in 50 chance of committing suicide (look it up). As far as what their vision is, it's simple - they've taken a nice building, in a nice area, and filled it with brand new equipment, using all the latest / greatest technologies, and they're banking on them being skilled enough, and patients in the area being well-off enough, to cover the higher prices necessary to pay for all those amenities. And I'm a believer. This place feels more like a NASA clean room than a dental practice. I think the chairs even have heat / massage functions, and they appear to be upholstered in top-grain leather, reminiscent of a BMW interior. There are actually 2 dentists at this practice, or so I'm told. I've never actually met Dr. Joelle. I picture her as a Godfather-like figure, sitting behind a desk somewhere in a dimly lit room, calling the shots. You know, "shots," as in Novoca- nevermind. I won't speculate as to who wears the pants in this relationship / practice, but I find it interesting that Dr. Shawn does all my dental work, while Dr. Joelle (his wife) is the one whose name appears on all the financials. Unique to this practice is the fact that you can pester them via text any time of day, and they'll promptly respond. It feels sort of like having your own dental concierge. If you're planning on having your teeth whitened (it's called Philips "Zoom" whitening), I highly recommend scheduling a teeth cleaning first, in the same visit. That way they'll be motivated to get them as clean as possible. In the words of Dr. Shawn, "we don't want to whiten the stains." They take before and after photos of all cosmetic work, so they have a vested interest in getting you the best results possible. They aren't afraid to use drugs here, which is refreshing. That's actually the main reason I bailed on my last dentist - he didn't use nitrous. If you're a sissy like me, and you faint around needles (I literally can't even look at them), nitrous is a must. It's also nice having a doctor who's willing to prescribe Valium or Vicodin when needed, instead of being so afraid of the DEA that they let their patients suffer. My biggest gripe is the cost of crowns - $2100, vs. $1200 elsewhere. That's a big difference! At least they're CEREC crowns, which means the crown is done in a single visit. There's no horsing around with temporary crowns, or return visits. They have a CNC machine that mills their crown in-house from a solid block of material. It isn't as well color-matched as traditional, handmade, lab-sourced crowns, but the one-and-done aspect makes it worth it.

When I arrived I was greeted by two remarkable women receptionists. They were as friendly, personable and knowledgeable as I could have asked for. They answered all my questions and made me comfortable which for me is extremely difficult because I am deathly afraid of dentists, because of some bad experiences I've had in the past. I was ushered into an examine room where I was greeted by a lab assistant who took x-rays with a handheld devise I was more more comfortable with rather than the large machines I've always been frightened of because of my fear of radiation. After the x-rays were completed four medically clad people into the room. They were all very personable and friendly and again made me at ease. Dr. Sean did everything necessary to prepare the implant explaining every detail to me as he evaluated and prepared me for the implant after having previously placed a temporary device onto my tooth. Everything was completed with a half hour and I made an appointment for two week to have the implant done. Each of these people were extremely knowledgeable, comforting and pleasant. The cost of my services and the implant was very reasonable after I had done the cost research. I received services from soup to nuts and couldn't have been Moore pleased. To make this even better the offices were state of the art, beautiful and warming. Thanks Dr. Sean, Dr. Elehad and staff for this marvelous experience. Steven Eichberg, Esquire

Recently I have been on a health journey and wanted my mercury fillings removed. Dr Ahdoot carefully reviewed my X rays with me, walked through the plan in a thoughtful and thorough way, and made sure I felt completely comfortable every step of the process. During the procedure he was meticulous about making sure I was fully anesthetized, and he removed the fillings seamlessly. His staff is equally kind and attentive. They are gentle, communicative, and make what can often be an anxiety provoking experience feel calm and smooth. I am truly grateful to have a dentist who takes such great care of me and approaches his work with integrity and intention. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for thoughtful, high quality dental care.
