A few minutes later she appeared with my plate, all I can say is WOW. The shell was fluffy and not over cooked but cooked just right. There was the right amount of fillers inside and all very well cooked, not crunchy and not raw. She checked up on me during off chewing time to check on how things were. Paid $56 (excluding tip and driver fees). Food surprisingly came hot for pizza and we had a lot of left overs from the four of us. Pizza toppings were generous and their cheese is top quality. I decided to give this place a second chance and ordered a veal parm because I was really craving one. Big mistake. What showed up looked more like a science experiment than a sandwich. The bread was so stale I could've used it as a doorstop, and the veal was so thin and rubbery I honestly thought I was chewing on an old flip-flop. If there was any actual veal in there, it must've been hiding because I sure couldn't find it. It instantly reminded me of that old Wendy's commercial "Where's the beef?" Except here it was, "Where's the veal?" And the answer is: not in this sandwich. Look, I get that taste is subjective, but I'd challenge anyone to call this edible, let alone enjoyable. Calabria is your typical neighborhood Italian and pizza place. Generous portions and good service make for an enjoyable meal. I would say the food and prices are similar to an Olive Garden. I met up with friends for an early Saturday evening meal. We were seated and our server came right over. The server's pacing and attention was good all the way up until the bill. I noticed on the way out that by then the restaurant had really filled up. All the tables and booths were full as well as the bar area. I opted to pay $2 to add the Greek side salad to my chicken piccata. I got a salad plate sized mix of lettuce, cucumber, and peppers with lots of black olives and feta cheese. I could almost fill up on this. Next I got the chicken piccata. The chicken breasts did not appear to be seared so it seemed they were counting on the sauce with tons of capers and the capellini pasta to do the heavy lifting. I had plenty to take home but was not that excited about my leftovers. My friend got the personal Popeye pizza that was studded with spinach and mozzarella. It was as small as a personal pizza at some restaurants, about 10 inches. Overall I had been anxious after reading some negative reviews on Yelp. It was OK. Nothing special but not terrible. $29 for a glass of white wine, Greek salad and the chicken piccata. The company of my good friends was priceless. read more

We arrived mid afternoon and everyone was seated in the bar, so that's what we did. Our server was quick to bring us menus and drinks. The menu is varied, with appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, pizza, etc. I settled on an original stromboli, which I seldom see on menus. My stromboli arrived timely, and looked great. What a hidden gem. We stopped in to have dinner and we really enjoyed the restaurant. The restaurant is in a strip mall type of area with plenty of parking. Once you get in they have a bar area, high top tables and a regular dining area. For starters we had the antipasto which was excellent. It contained all of the normal offerings, Italian meats, burrata, olives and peppers. Then for our meals we ordered a cheese pizza for the kids, I had a meatball grinder and my girlfriend had the chicken Marsala. The kids enjoyed their pizza, which by the way, it is hard to find good pizza in Florida. The grinder hit the spot, plenty of mozzarella and the meatballs were good. First off the service was very good. That was about all that was good. The food we had was terrible and prepared with zero love and it was prepared with a lack of concern. I had the Veal Marsala, it was not pounded, it was not pounded thin, the meat was tough, it was not tender at all. Look at the pic, I thought it was chicken at first. Those are basic steps totally missed in preparing this dish. My wife got the Grouper Francaise and it was loaded with breading and very very little fish and tons of breading for $30 plus she found a bone, and she said it tasted "fishy" . Why sell these dishes if you don't take the preparation of these dishes seriously?? My opinion is go to this place for the pizza and possibly the wings. read more

I recently returned to this spot upon visiting clermont I rarely write reviews. but I couldn't let this bad experience slide! out charming waitress was informed of my food allergy, garlic! I mentioned the horrible reaction I'd have if ingested! I ordered a cold antipasto salad, eliminating the marinated mushrooms and anything else garlic related. she offered a choice of salad dressings. I went with balsamic vinegar my plate arrived with a bowl of dressing. thought to be the balsamic dressing poured it over my salad only to realize it was a pesto sauce. all pesto is made with garlic. they had to make me a fresh dish. in the background u could hear a discussion between the waitress and other unseen staff having a heated conversation about the dish. I got the same dish with the right dressing. I'm eating the food ad as I get down the bottom of the plate I see cloves of garlic in my food. I'm mortified! I picked them out and set aside. called the waitress over who looked just as stunned as I was. only then after asking for a manager did they get serious about the issue. at this point Im told that the toasted peppers in the dish are marinated in Gallic. yet they still let the dish cone out of the kitchen. they also mentioned that their pesto sauce isn't made with garlic. I know that's not true. It was horrible to not be taken serious when a person Informs u a food allergy. A manager should be dispatched to ur table immediately when told. They only came over after the fact and while semi apologizing. They started rambling about their insurance. It was such carelessness and disregard. With night of agony that was completely avoidable. Sad to see this Resturant that's been stable in Clermont for over 15 years to be falling by the wayside. Saturday 1:30 and the place had only 7or 8 patrons in the bar side ( other side closed). Many of the tables have napkins folded under one leg to balance them. Our server Megan was prompt and friendly. The salad we got was not what was ordered and when we pointed this out the salad was quickly removed and returned with the same offending contents picked off the top of the salad but not removed from the bottom of the salad. About 10 minutes after 2 meat & parm meals were brought to the table the third meal had not yet arrived. Megan came out and told us that they make the wrong meal. 15 minutes later the chef brought out the meal and apologized for its lateness ( but threw Megan under the bus and basically blamed her for the wrong order.) The Large Greek Salad at $14.00 is a nice fare for 2 people. The Veal Parm and Chicken Parm at $22 & $20 respectively served with spaghetti and marinara sauce were nothing to write about ; neither massive size nor great taste. The soft drinks are $2.50. Bread served with butter premeal was tasteless not like the garlic bread they served in the past. The owners who used to always be on site were nowhere to be seen today. Does anyone know if there are under new management? Their location in the 50/455 shopping plaza makes it an easy place to get in and out of, but with service and meals like today's visit; I don't feel that we will be comming back any time soon. read more

I have been here many times now. This place is pretty good for Italian food. As close to New York as you can get. My only critique is the pizzas are a little too salty. Last night I had the lobster ravioli in a vodka creme sauce. Very delish. Would definitely order those again. We have gone to Calabria many times for their wonderful Calzones. Last night the entire meal was not good at all. The bread they serve before the meal was over cooked and actually almost burned on the top.na couple pieces were hard as a rock. Why would they even serve it? The Calzone I had was so garlicky I could hardly eat it all. The crust part was also very thick and " bready". Others at the table had the same complaint. Needless to say several of us were very disappointed in our meal. I can only hope it was an "off" night. We also noticed that the kitchen area was very noisy.....loud talking and laughing.....disruptive for people dining. All in all it was not a good experience. Calabria is a good 50 to 60 minutes from home, but a previous experience over a year back was so good that for a special celebration, we decided to go back.
