Excellent thin crust pizza joint located in downtown Clermont. Was drawn to this business based on the positive yelp reviews, which based on our experience was richly deserved. As we were in a bit of a rush, we ended up getting the ready-made pizza of the day which in this case was a cheese pizza. The pizza was well-made and quite tasty with plenty of cheese and a very nice textured thin crust nicely browned underneath, which is just the way I like it! During this visit, we ended up meeting and talking to the owner of the business who is an Expat from New York City. Obviously a sports fan where we had a nice long delightful conversation about baseball and the Yankees where my brother who was with me is a big fan of that team as well. His friendliness and outgoing manner really added to the overall dining experience where we will definitely be returning in the future this time, ordering a pizza with a tad more items to see if his more deluxe options are as good as the cheese pizza was! This little hidden pizza spot with two ovens and some early teens in the back making you pizzas will blow your mind. The pizza quality is phenomenal almost remind me of NY when you walk by for one slice of pie. They have a ton of options but for me the white pizza took the cake with a light drizzle of olive oil and huge scoops of ricotta you can't go wrong. So I've been looking forever for the perfect NY style pizza in Florida. Living in NY/NJ for half my life, I've been a snob on pizza. I am so glad to have finally found the NY pizza I've been craving for years in downtown Clermont. A huge rave for the owner Vinnie of Chef'n It Up Slice Bar. I stopped by to check it out and saw that the slices looked just like the slices back home. Tried the plain slice and it brought back all the great memories. It was so good I called my sister and bought two extra large pies to take home. My family were so happy after trying the pizza. Thank you! What a wonderful family owned business new to the downtown Clermont area. This is a cool food truck spot with EXCELLENT New York style pizza made by a true New Yorker. You order at the counter and there are communal tables to share with the rest of the venues at this location, all under a shade. We had the large cheese pizza and it was one of the better pizzas in the central Florida area. The sauce was tasty with a bit of sweetness and it was packed with melty mozzarella. We also had the homemade chocolate moose cheesecake and black and white cookies and they were devoured. The owner was so friendly and made us feel like family. They just opened this location and I highly recommend you check them out. They also have a location in Groveland with a more extensive menu. read more

I loved their Sicilian pizza. The thick crust is delicious and their sauce is outstanding. It is not to acidic or sweet,..just perfect. I didn't care for the tiny pepperoni...especially how they curled up into crunchy little circles ...but I was the only one who felt that way. Everyone else loved them. First impression was a hole in the wall pizza joint inside. 1 booth and a bar for 6 with a beer tap marked inop. Hmmm. Menu looking interesting and dining facilities were eclectic. Ordered a pie and owner Vinny came out. Asked if we wanted to sit outside. On the street? NO, he had a small eclectic courtyard with his fire stove and grill. Pizza came out and OMG good. Side of marinara dipping sauce and real silverware! After a few slices we boxed up the other half for later. 2 cannolis that were great and we were dun! Finally tried Chefing It Up and glad we did. We ordered a Sicilian pizza and it was delicious! There was plenty of sauce and cheese and not overcooked. The garlic knots were delicious. They have chunks of fresh garlic. The salad had a mix of different greens but it could've used some more dressing. Overall we will definitely be back! I posted this on Google as well, just FYI. There is SO much to unpack here. I'm gonna tell you what my wife and I ordered, and I hope we don't get judged on how much we ordered, lol. We were very hungry and we wanted to try this new place everyone was raving about. So, my wife and I ordered, a large cheese pizza, a large extra cheese with bacon and ham, 2 arancinis, a small pizza with peppers and onions. Some garlic knots, too. And we couldn't leave out the cheesecake that almost everyone raves about online. So I ordered a regular plain slice and my wife ordered a skyscraper, red velvet chocolate cheesecake. (Lol, that's a mouthful isn't it?) We ordered over the phone and the gentleman couldn't possibly have been more personable, friendly and patient. He went through my questions, even though it was a Friday night! He even went a step above and called me when the order was done so I could expect it. The pizza takes me back to when I was a kid and I spent a month in NYC. Damn it's good. The toppings were generous & delicious. It was just really good pizza. NY pizza isn't for everyone, but if you like the real thing, this is it. The garlic knots were amazing, as well! Usually we order bread sides so we can get a feel for the restaurant. If a place shows skill and pride in a bread side dish, you can tell they cook with love. The marinara sauce that accompanies it (very generous portion as well) is not the typical sauce that I like to be honest. I was expecting something generic like the prepackaged sauces from other places. This sauce doesn't seem to have any sugar, but it was delicious to me anyway. That means a lot because I'm very picky in general, but even more so with sauces. The cheese pizza looked amazing, but it was for our daughter who was out and is gonna eat it later. I gotta throw this in here because I don't wanna end it on a negative now, so lemme say this here. The arancini is very fresh (just like EVERYTHING else) but to me it was simply okay. Kinda bland for me even though I liked the coating a bit. My wife enjoyed it even less than me unfortunately, but told me she didn't find it bland. She didn't say it was bad or anything. It's just nothing extraordinary, especially when compared to everything else. My wife typically never eats leftovers. She couldn't finish her cheesecake. But she WANTED to. She said it was delicious, and she doesn't compliment anything really, lol. It was definitely a skyscraper portion. She loved it and saved it for later as she was very full and trying to eat on anyway, lol... My slice was fresh and tasty, definitely above average for a plain cheesecake. I wanna point out that I don't like sauces on my cheesecake and plain cheesecake is hard to make exciting when it's just traditional & plain. That's MY fault, and I'm good with it. I liked it and would order again. As far as my experience with jt went, it was above average of a dessert, just MAYBE pricey for a slice of plain cheesecake. My wife's experience was wonderful though and totally worth every penny. She loved the creativity and bottom line it was just delicious for her. To sum up: everything is fresh. EVERYTHING. You can taste the love in everything they do. Some items aren't exceptional, but that's completely normal. I don't gush over things unless they're truly good, lol, I'm no shill! The service was a new standard, truly professional & it alone encourages me to order from them because they WANT to work for you. They put love into the food and they want to earn that purchase from you. If you truly like NY pizza, you can't expect better than here. It tastes like the real thing because it IS the real thing. The garlic knots are great, the pizza is great, the skyscraper cheesecakes are great (my wife wants to order each different type now because of how tasty it was), the arancini weren't our cup of tea, but I still finished mine because of the freshness. Also, and I think this was very brave and just goes to show you how much they care. The gentleman over the phone actually WANTED to know how they did. Just try it! They deserve your business. Ive only tried the pizza and meatballs.... both mediocre... the dough on pizza is too thick, sauce was bland.... the meatballs are definately not italian, they are completely beef with no flavor. We read the reviews and drove over 30 min to get there and it was totally worth it. I had the chicken Parm and it was so good, I want it again today. But I have no leftovers. My husband was smart and ordered two whole pizzas (to share with the kids that didn't join us and leftovers). I ordered 3 desserts to go. They were all great although I didn't love the tiramisu. I did, however, love the chocolate layer cake. Everyone loved the cheesecake. Prices are good, food is good, owners are very kind and hardworking folks.
