When i started living here, things were great. Greystar is not a perfect management company by any means, but they at least cared for the property and residents much more and much better than the new company, Avita. Since Avita took over this place has gone downhill. The first thing they did when they took over was come in and take photos of all areas of our apartments, which was weird and invasive and also not normal at all. Then their "big fixes" included updated public areas (re: we would rather have our individual units updated, you know the ones we actively use daily) and a big, loud, long paint job that interrupted my sleep and routine considerably for months. The gate was broken in the main garage and still is, there's mold in my bathroom in several places, the floors have weak spots that make it hard to clean, the tile in my bathroom is cracked and missing grout and has been that way since move-in. Aside from these issues, good luck getting ahold of Avita or the leasing office. You're put through AI answering machine hell before you even get an option to speak to them, and if you do get chosen to speak to them you're at their mercy if they actually answer or not. Don't bother emailing either. You'll get a wonderful AI response that really knows your feelings (total sarcasm, it's actually infuriating) which does nothing. I'm not sure if human eyes ever actually see it. If you visit in person, which is normally the only resort, they'll take notes and assure you that they'll take care of whatever it is you're asking, but the truth is they can't wait to shoo you out of the office, to resume what "work" they're clearly NOT doing. Here's what finally spurred me to write this review, and it might be the only thing that actually "escalates" my complaints: They overcharged me $72.80 for the month of June, which I paid since their system doesn't allow partial payments, promised me a $500 concession for renewing my lease applicable to the month of July, and when I tried FIVE TIMES to call, email, visit and communicate with them to fix the over charges, they did nothing. Then they tacked on more double and triple charges to the month of July, totaling $182 and refused to fix the billing issue. I have emails, paper trails, and payments to prove my efforts and still nothing has been done, no communication from the office. I REFUSE to pay a late fee since this is the total fault and negligence of Avita's staff, but they were quick to add that to my balance due. I did the math myself and handed in a paper check, which is a first for me, and shocking since i'm literally trying to pay them. It feels like they're trying to steal money. The last time I spoke to Jackie, she confused me for another resident who apparently moved out, so they don't even bother to remember details or who is who among residents, which is embarrassing if you know anything about hospitality. So, if you're a future renter, do yourself a favor and live somewhere they actually bother to properly maintain and communicate with you (not gonna count the passive-aggressive mass emails for the whole community, sorry).

But I am already extremely impressed with the exceptional customer service here :D ! In addition to Jennifer and Didi, Adrian (one of the maintenance employees) and Dennis and Brian (the security guards) really do everything they can to make your stay here as comfortable and pleasant as possible :) ! No one is perfect. But they all really try their best. Adrian recently fixed my dishwasher so that the motor would spin properly again and so my dishwasher would run :) ! He also helped to unclog my kitchen sink promptly so it would drain properly again :D ! I was so thankful that both Jennifer and Didi promptly summoned him to fix both of these issues so efficiently and qualitatively :) ! It wasn't the only time maintenance came right away to fix items in my apartment unit. They also came right away to fix the latches on one of my windows in the beginning when I first moved in :) ! My next-door neighbors said they have been living here for about 4 years now and absolutely living at the Meridian :) ! They said they were so happy to renew their lease recently and stay on for a fifth year :D ! I noticed that the resident retention here overall is pretty good, compared to other apartment complexes that I have stayed in before. My neighbors told me about the Wednesday socials that the leasing office organizes around the pool or in the leasing office. And they encouraged me to come out to these so that I can meet more people in the complex :D ! Sometimes the gates are not properly working. So the nighttime security might not always be the best. However, although it's not ideal, I think every apartment complex has had its issues with their gates. I just hope that they are maintained and fixed from time to time. Other than that, so far, I love living here :D !

The management staff and maintenance personnel are extremely friendly and accommodating! We are getting so spoiled with the concierge service. We are enjoying living here so much, we are having second thoughts about leaving when our home is completed! Doug and Laura
