Haven't really had an issue with Caldwell Toyota until today! My elderly Mother in law had a 2:30 appointment to get oil change and tires rotated. She dropped her car off and I took her to do some errands. We went back to the dealership at 4:15, (2 hrs and 15min later), and Caldwell still hadn't serviced her vehicle nor even moved it to get serviced. We spoke with the service advisor and she said "did you drop it off or stay here", I told her "she dropped it off and we took her to get some shopping done". She then stated "well they moved other vehicles in front of hers, sorry". My mother in law decided to stay so they would get on it. After waiting at the dealership another 20 min. they still hadn't moved her car. My mother in law doesn't get upset much, but after waiting longer she finally told them to give her, her keys and she left.Caldwell, why have people make time appointments, and you can't even service a vehicle in a timely manner and to move others ahead of others, Shame on you! read more

the first time I came here was frustrating, they didn't seem organized, a lot of waiting around and confusion. I came here for my scheduled appointment and I was waiting way past my appointment time. When I pulled up, an employee was outside and even saw me and went inside. I had to get out of my car and go find an employee. when I found someone, they asked me if I had been waiting this whole time like they didn't know someone was outside, like it's hard to miss a vehicle running in their service lane when there was only 1 other car there. The employee who finally started looking at my car said he didn't see my appointment on his schedule. I showed him my appointment confirmation on my phone, he said sometimes all appointments just don't show up on his schedule. When he started to check in my car, he said that all of their techs are at lunch and won't be able to look at my car until they get back in about 1 hour and 40 minutes. I asked him why my appointment was scheduled right before lunch then, when they should've scheduled it after lunch so I'm not waiting over 2 hours after my appointment to even be seen. He said he'll try to find someone to look at my car now since it's my appointment time but he couldn't find anyone available. I was just waiting quietly in the lobby and other employees kept staring at me so I went outside and another employee kept staring at me. So obviously, employees see customers, they just don't help customers. I had to order a ride back to my place because of how long it was taking. They called my phone and I had to ask several times before they even started talking. They told me that they couldn't find what was wrong with my car and if I wanted my car back. I was paying for a diagnosis so why would I pay if they couldn't find out what's wrong with my car. They claim they finally found what was wrong with my car and they also found an additional issue. I was able to get the additional issue taken care of that day. I had to reschedule an appointment for what I initially came in for because they had to order that part. They never called me to tell me that my car was ready, I just showed up because they were about to close. When I picked up my car, they just pulled up with my car saying it's ready, they didn't have any paperwork for me, any billing and I still needed to schedule a follow up appointment. I had to ask. The employees who took my payment and scheduled me for my follow up appointment were nice and helpful tho. They told me about courtesy rides within the city when the employee who checked in my car earlier didn't. My follow up appointment, the employee that helped me was prompt and checked me in right away and on time. He even checked on the status of my car while it was getting maintenanced. He checked why it was taking longer then he expected and it was because they give me a complimentary car wash. I still got my car back in a decent time. I guess service here just depends on who's helping you and working that day. read more

We brought our GR86 in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. They broke one of our lug nut bolts. Had no parts to fix the damage. Tried to blame me. They took no responsibility for the issue. Would not be a big deal if this was not the 3rd time Toyota has damaged our car. We took our damaged car and will find a thoughtful mechanic to repair it. We will never never trust them to service our vehicle again. Based on the other reviews here, it's common to get poor care at Caldwell Toyota. What to keep a customer? Recently purchased a 2022 Toyota 4Runner Premium edition from this dealership and Jacob Pangle, my sales rep. I've owned 6 Honda's before this experience. I wasn't even planning to buy a vehicle that day but when you know, you know. First impression was great and they just happened to have the exact color and options I wanted on the lot. I received a great trade-in value, financing dept. was quick and easy process and felt like a valued customer. I purchased a certified pre-owned, with low miles. It was missing some floor mats and needed an extra key remote but Jacob got those ordered, at no cost to me. I took it in to get the new key programmed and service was friendly, helpful and pretty fast. When I'm ready for another vehicle, I would shop at Caldwell Toyota again. Brought my car in for what I thought was a sensor issue. They informed me that the head gasket was blown (even though I got it replaced less than a year ago) and that it might have been installed incorrectly by previous servicers. Wanted to charge me $3800 for the head gasket plus like $200 for other charges, but said it might still be warrantied at the place I got it serviced last. It was- but unfortunately I recently moved and the place it was warrantied was Tampa Hybrid in Tampa Florida which mainly specializes in Toyota Prius head gasket replacements. $500 to tow it was way cheaper than what Caldwell wanted so I did it- a week later, I find out that it was not the head gasket after all, but a pump which exploded and leaked coolant, a $600 fix. I'm not normally one to leave bad reviews, especially when the people were very nice and helpful, but trying to charge me 4 grand for a head gasket replacement is crazy to begin with. Not to mention that wasn't even what was wrong with it, and they knew I had just gotten it fixed. So $150 for a diagnosed that was not correct, and then wouls have been 4 grand for a $600 issue and wouldn't have even gotten the real problem solved. I guess it's on me for not getting a second opinion in town first. read more

I honestly don't think I had the best experience at all what so ever. I went in looking for one person that person handed me off to another and that second person handed me off to ANOTHER person. I honestly feel like I got passed around like the neighborhood HOE. I told the last guy I had I may keep my options open because the inventory y'all had wasn't the best. He got up and walked away. I waited and he did not come back. So I got up and left. I feel like every car we tried he kept pushing and pushing for me to sign . It was probably the worse experience ever. Keep in mind that was my first time getting a car. But that's okay I went to Nissan and they approved me for a Brand new 2025 Nissan Sentra WITH 0$ down and NO cosigner. I was never offered once a brand new car.My payments are way less than what a preowned car at Toyota would have costed me. I will be putting this review on y'all's website. I always had bad experiences with Caldwell toyota in conway Arkansas. I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with service department, I'll share my one experience, once I took my car for service. Service department person asked me if I want them to check my car before oil change? I said ok if there won't be any extra charges, service person said ok I'll have them check engine and other related area. Later my car was done and I looked at the bill, I saw extra charges. I was furious and asked at check out why these extra charges? Check person said it's for service we checked your car thurley. I said you should tell about this before.... they still charged my card, since then I haven't been there for any services. My second experience was when I went to purchase the car, I wasn't keen to go there but my wife said we should give them another chance. Sales person quote my car half price than value on carfax (trade value). I asked why he said this the price on my system. I said I've done my homework before I came here, I showed him the price on carfax, my car is in perfect condition, just a little paint (because of sun damage) it is hardly size of quarter. I have decided to buy a new car. I went to Caldwell to get an oil change and rotate the tires to be fair to the new owner of my car. I also stated to a Gary Hinson that my a/c was not running. I went looking at new cars in their lot. I had been using Caldwell for some years servicing a Lexus and a Solara. Mr. Hinson found me in lobby and told me that there was little freon and they needed to purge the system and recharge. I told him --yes. About 45 minutes later he said they had found that mice had invaded my wiring and chewed through the wiring. Mr. Hinson took me to the back where the mechanic was. The mechanic showed me some chewed up wiring and told me that it was going to take him a minimum of 20 hours to repair and possibly far more time @$110. per hour plus parts, so my guess was my bill was going to be $2500-$3500 or maybe more. The next day I returned to the dealer, and because I had been a long time customer and was going to have a large repair bill , I felt it was a reasonable to ask for a loaner. I live close to the dealer and wouldnt be driving much. Mr. Hinson said "no" and because I didnt buy the car to be repaired from them. I asked him to ask the service manager------He did---and a Mr. Andy Lamb also said "no" I was dismayed as #1---I was a long time customer, and #2 I was fixing to have a large repair bill with most of this labor. Caldwell Toyota has the best service department I have ever been to. They are always accommodating and do far more than any other Toyota service department. My latest example is my 4 Runner air bag recall. They had the bag replaced within 2 days. I am still waiting since the recall was announced for Mccarty Toyota in NLR. I was told they would "call" me when the one they were ordering me comes in. It was suppose to take 3 or 4 days. Never a call Last week my car would not start. I tried everything to start it. When I called and talked to Andy Lamb he figured out over the phone that my key wasn't programed. I got another one of my keys and it started immediately. I went to Caldwell the next day and Andy Lamb got it programed. I will never go anywhere else. 5 months ago I came here I was going to buy a car they said no way your credit is horrible .. ( not true) in that 5 months I bought not one but TWO brand new cars both with less then a 2.89 apr . I brought my new Camry that I love in for its first service ( since I bought out of AR ) my car just hit 5k miles I don't need to trade it in. But I have a approval thru Toyota I was like I'll consider looking at a Tundra or sequoia I went out side was looking at the truck was 100% ignored as I sit here now waiting on my car to be serviced again still completely, and totally ignored! I guess I'll have to buy from Ca or Tn again if you see someone that has money looking at a high dollar truck spending time with it at least be like hey what can I help you with ?! With that said, I recently purchased a used Toyota from Caldwells and I must say that I enjoyed my buying experience with them. I delt with Dalton and Hugo and these gentelmen did an outstanding job. They did not pressure me to buy which I cant stand from a salesman, they were knowledgeable and patient. They showed me several vehilcles and gave me time to review each one until I made up my mind. This is the way buying a car should be, no pressure. So I was able to made the right choice for me and not just make a sale quota. Interesting filtered review. I gave Caldwell one star instead of zero hoping my review won't be filtered. This is the honest truth about my experience there. Caldwell sold us a brand new car with no title, for starters. They sent a letter that actually said, "The title has been lost." It has been a major hassle and we still don't have a title. I have never been able to reach anyone there by telephone; a machine answers and nobody ever calls back. Having decided not to use them anymore, I called to get a comparative estimate on a replacement key for my Toyota. Of course, they didn't call back, but I finally reached someone by email. Their estimate was, get this, $65 MORE than another dealer. For one key. I love their motto: Caldwell Cares. read more

This is my second review on Caldwell Toyota.  The salesman asked me to do one before I picked up the car.  When I picked it up the 5 star went to a -10!  This is part of what happened: I signed papers on this car on a Thursday and had to transfer money and would bring cashier check on Monday and pick up car. Most horrible experience of my car buying life. Car had many problems. Hood was eat up with dozens of spots that the sales and I thought was dirt and would be detailed. Something had eaten through the top coat, paint and into the metal. Door had been replaced and I had to bring it to their attention. I find after several notes to Mr. Caldwell that the manager Ryan knew about these problems before I bought the car. I told Mr. Caldwell this and he could care less. I found that the door had been worked on or replaced and a woman covering for Ryan called me a liar and I showed her where there were finger prints in the paint and she said she thought someone might have had glue on their fingers and it eat through the top coat. That was beyond stupid. I had to threaten to go to the AG office to get my money back. I was lied to over and over and when I talked to Mr. Caldwell, he was the worst one of all! RUDE! When I asked for a cashier check, so I could cash it right away, Mr. Caldwell informed me it would be a personal check. I told him my bank would have to hold it for 7+ days and he said well I could go to his bank and get a cashiers check and I had to talk to the Branch Mgr there to get this done. He knew the rules on checks and they knew I was without a car. They caused me all the trouble they could. read more

I like to think everything at a car dealership is negotiable including accessories. I went into the dealership earlier today to purchase some floor mats for my wife's car. These floor mats were $98 with tax and shipping on EBay. I told the guy behind the counter I'd buy from him right now if he could match the price. What he didn't know was that I would've bought them from him had he taken off anything. His response was $108. He wouldn't budge $1. I bought my new car from Caldwell Toyota. First, their advertised finance rate didn't apply to the car I bought. Even with an 830 rating, my interest was higher than any bank in town. The sales experience was good but I haven't been able to reach my "service-oriented" salesman since then. He's off, in a meeting, or just doesn't return my messages. I needed some information, asked for a used car manager and got a salesman who blew me off with an offhand answer rather than answering my specific question. The first 2 experiences with the service department were good then 3 months ago at 9400 miles they began calling to set an appointment for the 10k service. I finally gave up and made one for 2 weeks in advance. I sat there for 1 1/2 hrs then left for another appointment with no service. I set another appointment for 2 weeks ahead and told them to not leave me sitting there again. Finally done today but it took another hour. What is the point in making appointments if you don't intend to honor them? My time is valuable too! As soon as the free service is over, I'm gone!! And you can bet I won't buy there again. I'll stick to Smith Ford where they care about customers and their time. read more

If I have to wait for repairs, they give me a loaner Toyota to drive. I have just purchased a new car. After going to all the high-volume dealers, Caldwell not only gave me the best price but treated me like a friend. None of that foolishness the "big boys" try to pull. I drove 2 and a half hours from Memphis TN to buy a used car and my salesman Dakota Rodgers went above and beyond to make sure that me and my wife got what we wanted and were comfortable while we waited to go to finance. I purchased a Toyota Highlander from Caldwell in 2008. They sold me an extended warranty at over $1,800 with the verbal assurance that it was fully refundable at the end of the 6 year contract if we didn't use it. What we found out after the fact is that we were required to still own the car after 6 years. This was misleading and we weren't informed of this at the time of purchase. So, my refund was refused and they have my $1800.00. I've been ripped off. I'll never do business with them again. read more

Terrible! If I could give zero stars I would. Where do I start about the service department. I used to have my oil changed here until I had items stolen out of my vehicle and then 2 times I have had my oil changed here they said my cabin filter needed changed when my husband had just put a new one in it a week earlier. They don't even check it. Also the girls that answer the phone are rude and not helpful. I needed some help with my vehicle. The girl at the front desk said she'd have someone call me, they never did. Before all of this, my husband bought a car from them and was promised a free oil change. When we called to schedule it, the service department said they don't do free oil changes. I gave them the name of the salesman and what do you know... the guy didn't work there anymore. Also my husband has taken them a coupon for a discount on an oil change and they ended up doing a full synthetic which cost him more than if he'd went somewhere else. We have given this place chance after chance thinking we'll get someone good but the whole place is terrible. I'd spend the money on gas and go to Little Rock or Fayetteville Toyota dealership. read more

After a week of trying to negotiate on a vehicle my husband finally reached an agreement with the salesman on a price, drove almost TWO hours to he dealership and are about to sign papers and the guy changed he price and said he never agreed on anything AND then tried to make us feel like e hd wasted his time!!
