The reviews won't let you down on this one. As other reviews stated that they might get busy, especially on the weekends, I called ahead to see if they were busy and/or if I could get an appointment. The lady on the phone said they were busy, and asked me if I wanted my appointment with anyone specific. I explained that I had never been there before, so whoever as fine, and set my appointment up for about 2 hours later. I showed up about 10 minutes early, and they weren't very busy at all. Each barber was with a customer, but I was the first person in line. There was a steady stream of people who came in and set up appointments with their favorite barber, and walked out. It's probably a good idea to try to get an appointment if you need to. I ended up with Mario. While I briefly chatted with some of the other barbers and they were perfectly nice, Mario was super cool and really personable. All of the barbers here seem to have a good time and joke with each other pretty well. I came in with a full beard, and not having had a haircut in way too long, and didn't really have a specific idea of exactly what I wanted to do, but gave Mario some general ideas about keeping my goatee, and maybe just cleaning up the rest of the beard, while getting a taper-cut for the top. First thing Mario did freaked me out a little bit... He completely removed he hair at the top of one of my sideburns. My first thought was, "F@%#! I should have told him to keep the sideburns!", My next thought was, " Well - too late now. Just have to let him do it at this point and it will grow back." However, he ended up just separating my hairline/sideburns a little bit. Something I never would have thought to ask for, but it sure looks damn sexy now. Mario continued to cut the hair, shape the beard, and very skillfully used a straight razor to clean up all of the edges. All the while, we had a pleasant conversation, and laughed with each other. All for $20. In the end, I found my new barber, and came home to a very pleasantly surprised fiancee. She suggested that I take the time to make sure I go visit Mario every 3 weeks or so. I haven't visited a barber on a regular basis for quite some time now, so we will see. However, next time I need a barber, it will be Mario. read more

I just moved to Simi Valley and was looking for a barbershop. Every barbershop that seems good around my area is closed on Monday. I took a drive to Chatsworth since it's not too far. I found this place online. I walked in and wasn't greeted or acknowledged. I waited for about 15 minutes and two other customers walked in. I got skipped not once but twice. I asked if they had a list where I'm supposed to sign in and one of the barbers did say he would help me out next but at that time I decided that I'll take my money somewhere else. I walked in here last week for the first time and was attended by Luis, who is also the owner. It was a bit surprising seeing a young man running his own barbershop/business in Chatsworth but after having a nice talk with him, I see how he did it. He's a hard working man and as far as his work goes, it was probably the best haircut I've ever had. I was at my mom's house shortly after and her instant reaction was something like "OMG, who cut your hair?". She knew right away that it wasn't done by my usual barber.
