I submitted my request for quotes from Yelp and Auggy of Cali Stone was one of the first to reply. He is very knowledgeable about the different countertop materials and saved us 50% on the quartz countertop we wanted. We had gone to a big very well known distributor and found the Calacatta we wanted but was quote $1500 for just one prefab piece! I told Auggy that was too much. So he suggested we go to Elite Stone in Santa Ana as they had the exact same Calacatta for almost half the price. That sealed the deal for us to use Auggy because of his knowledge about this and because of his integrity. We made the arrangements for the installation, Auggy picked up the slab, and they cut it to size on site. Had to have a quartzite countertop re-done from a previous installer due to wrong cuts and bad craftsmanship overall. Auggy came in and noticed all the mistakes down to the wrong tools used to not aligning veins etc and advised what he was going to do on the new install. He delivered! His quote for fabrication, materials and installation was only $260 more than what a local competitor quoted me for just the fabrication, and they were also going to have me buy a whole huge slab of quartz. I'm not sure about all these reviews. I don't even know if they are legit. I received a call from Auguie. He asked me to send him measurements as well as what I needed done. I sent him measurements as well as a video of my kitchen counters and what I wanted done as well as the type of kitchen I wanted. I sent him samples and told him I was interested In Quartz countertops as well as subway tile as backsplash. Didn't hear from him again until the next day. Sure you will find many contractors who will perform the work you need, but how often do you feel these contractors are looking out for your best interest? Auggie treated my project as if it was his own, and I really appreciated his extra efforts when it came to one particular Quartz slab. I had pre-ordered the slab, and Auggie drove to Anaheim and picked it up. However, after returning to his shop he noticed a flaw in the pre-mitered edge, and he sent me a video of his findings and immediately called me saying he's not satisfied with the stone. Would your average contractor care? I called the stone store and requested a replacement. Auggie drove back to Anaheim to return the stone, and inspected the replacement to ensure it was perfect. Auggi and his team did a great job! We purchased a new sink and stovetop then discovered they were both slightly too large for the holes cut into our granite. They were able to come over, cut the granite about an inch wider and longer, and everything fit! They cleaned up and everything is now in place! I never met Augie - I went purely on the reviews from Yelp. I was going to go with another guy, but the other guy was unresponsive to my calls and texts. Augie always answered my phone calls or texts promptly which is why I gave him the job I found out he is the owner. He will follow through from beginning to end. In my case he even came to the install personally with two other guys. Needless to say, I had stone countertops in my house within only 4 days. Augie personally came to my house to take measurements and meet me face to face. I picked my color online. He took one sink and another sink template with him. I agreed to pay 10% and then 40% after meeting him. Price was good! Included haulaway. There was some caulking that got tracked on the floor - make sure they leave the house clean before leaving. They will clean. I would suggest covering the floor. Other than that, the product was clean and service very professional! Thank you! read more

Because of that, I did not meet the minimum size/cost of the big box stores and when I got quotes from other countertop professionals their quote was often at least double the quote from Cali Stone Artisans. We initially inquired on a quote for our project from a company we'd used before, but clicked the box on Yelp that allows you to get other estimates. Auggie was the first one to contact us. He was able to provide an estimate from photos and measurments that we took. He was also the lowest estimate of four estimates. Seeing that Auggie only had three Yelp reviews at the time, I initiallly felt like we were taking a risk compared to going with the more expensive company we used before that had more reviews. But there was someting about Auggie's profesionalism and responsiveness that was lacking from the original company that we went with, so we went with Auggie. And we couldn't be happier!
