If you hire OP Construction, you'd better hope you're one of the projects that he prioritizes. If not, you'll get crap work by day laborers who he doesn't even supervise. If you do decide to hire them, take pictures to document everything and if they do a crappy job like they did at my house, contact Yelp for their $2500 service refund guarantee. This is what I had to do and Yelp saw all the pictures and evidence and awarded me a $2500 refund. Hiring OP Construction to remodel my kitchen was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. From the very beginning, communication was sloppy, deadlines were missed repeatedly, and the workmanship was appalling. What was supposed to be a 4-week project dragged on for over three months, with no clear updates or accountability. The crew frequently showed up late--or not at all--and left my home in complete disarray every day. Cabinets were installed crooked, the countertop had chips along the edge, and the backsplash was sloppily grouted with visible gaps and uneven tiles. When I pointed these things out, I was met with excuses or outright dismissiveness. Even worse, they damaged my plumbing and electrical panel and refused to take responsibility. I eventually had to bring in another contractor to fix their mistakes, which cost me thousands more on top of what I'd already paid OP Construction. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the headache. This company is unprofessional, careless, and lacks even basic standards of quality or customer service. So let's start off with that I had contacted 12...that's TWELVE...contractors to get quotes for our home renovations and OP Construction came through as a frontrunner for time, cost, communication and responsiveness. Though not the lowest, OP Construction was not the highest neither. Our house received a complete remodel of the kitchen, two bathrooms, new floors and paint throughout, and creating a new bedroom. It was a lot of work. I had a detailed list of all the things we wanted and I had a spreadsheet for all the things we needed to buy. This helped me share and confirm that what we wanted would work in the construction. There was also many things I didn't realize that I needed to get, and Orlando would walk us through what was needed and why. Being newbies to home renovations, we didn't know what to expect. But Orlando was upfront, responsive and transparent throughout the entire process. We paid a small deposit at the signing of the contract, and then we had a scheduled weekly payment plan. We got a lot of unscheduled surprise visits from city inspectors, and each time we would fear the worst. However Orlando eased our concerns by dealing with them professionally and addressing every issue raised by them without a problem. We always tried to do daily checks on the progress. This allowed us to see how the work was going, and address things that didn't meet our expectations or have questions about. Try as we might to stick to the original build plans, we did have a handful of change orders and OP was transparent on time and cost.
