I took my car in for a broken tail light and had to wait for just five minutes, then Will came out and asked if I'd been helped and when I showed him the repair I needed he had it fixed in about another 5 minutes. Caliber Collision - Prior to repairs - Body Shops Near Me - Berkeley, California

This is the 3rd time I've used Caliber Collision in the last year. First they helped me paint the outside of my new car after someone scratched it up. Then they installed a new Catalytic Converter and an anti theft device. And this week, when part of my trunk fell off and my car battery died, I was so happy to be able to tow my car to them. It is hard to find people you can trust to take care of your car. But I now have 3 positive experiences with Caliber. I have had nothing but good experiences with Andrea and the rest of the team. I. hope to stay away for a long while, but I'm happy to know that their excellent customer service and top notch repair team are there when I need them. read more

I would definitely use Caliber Collision in Berkeley again. I received excellent service from the time I walked in the door. When I couldn't get my rental company to pick me up after I dropped off my vehicle to be repaired, they made arrangements to get me to my rental. When My car was ready and I was unable to pick up due to my work schedule, they offered to deliver it to my house. That was so awesome. I am so appreciative of their wonderful service. read more

Super friendly service and very reliable....when something goes wrong with your car, at least you have this to look forward to with Caliber Collision at their Claremont location. I took my car in to be serviced last year and a warning light appeared on my dash, likely linked to a pinched wire during the fix. Do NOT take your car here for any reason. We had a small bump to a rear fender and wanted it fixed. One week later we get it back, with them saying it's totaled. The car ran perfectly before taking it in and upon getting it back the check engine light is on, and the guy there says the steering is all messed up. We believe they jacked up our car for insurance payouts. Also people there don't wear masks properly (hanging off their faces) and have no clue about Covid safety. SAVE YOURSELF AND AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I had some minor scratches on my front bumper and fender. Stopped by one day to ask them for an estimate and Aaron Conley (General Manager) literally paused his lunch to take a look at it and told me they could fix "within minutes". I could not believe my ears. But, sure enough he drove my car to the back of their facility and within about 15 min he was back with it fixed!!!! I was like, "are you a magician?". :) Amazing!!! During the week someone did a hit and run and broke off my driver side mirror. Caliber Collision referred to my by USAA insurance and therefore went to them for a quote. The repair total: $551.03 which to me pretty high for just the replacement of a mirror. However, when Andrea detailed the repair piece by piece (house, mirror, paint, etc.) it became clearer to why such a high cost for something that sounded so basic. Andrea also not only made sure I had an appointment ASAP but she also gave me a great 7:30am slot allowing me to drop off the vehicle and still make it into work in a reasonable amount of time. Andrea acted professionally and with great customer service throughout the process and I'd definitely recommend her and Caliber Collision for auto body work. I actually need to go back to have something else done (unrelated to the hit and run) and know that my car will be in awesome hands with them. read more

Due to poor management and lack of overview I had to come twice to the shop for nothing and wasted my valuable time. The part did not arrive on time and no one bothered to call and let me know. Very poor communication and no respect for other people's time. Shop did not offer any compensation or discount due to their mismanagement. No body cares! read more

Written 8-18-2020: Someone hit my car while I was shopping so I had to contact my insurance and Caliber in Berkeley is a place that was on the recommended to me to have my car repaired. Excellent service in every way. They worked seamlessly with my insurance company and the rental company Hertz (which I can also recommend). My car came out perfect, in a timely manner, and all cleaning protocols were followed. The guy who worked with me at the front desk, named Alan, was very nice and very efficient and helpful. The guy who looked over the estimate of my car, the repair of my car and communications with me throughout was Alan Nguyen. I had a fantastic experience at Caliber Collision on Claremont. I came in for an estimate to fix some damage to the front of my car, and Alan Nguyen pointed out that instead of replacing the front bumper, he could just pop it back in, if I was ok with a minor dent. I was, so once he had popped it back in, he then provided a bolt that was missing to hold it in place, and cleaned the area where impact had left some crud. I had my car back in good condition without needing a repair... I am impressed that Alan provided this solution, and spent a little time to make things look as good as possible. What great customer service, even though I've never been a customer there before. But if I ever need work done on my car, this will certainly be my go-to place. read more

I Highly recommend Caliber Collision if you should ever have to deal with a car repair! Their entire team made the experience the best it could be under the unfortunate circumstance of a fender bender that needed more repair than met the eye (internal crunches also). From the office staff, to the e-mails, to the worker bees that did their magic on the car repair, fantastic. They were prompt, thorough, and their communication is excellent. They update you daily on when the parts will arrive, and any delays, and make everything easy to understand. Getting a rental car is close by so that is easy (though NOT at 5 pm in traffic!). I want to say that Sandra Souriya, the Service Advisor was totally on top of things, she is knowledgeable, kind and made the experience positive. THANK YOU for all of your detailed work. Love this place!! I live around the corner and my car battery died. I know nothing about cars and was so stressed about it. I called Caliber Collision and Aaron told me they don't do battery replacements specifically but offered to come down and jump it for me and let me know if I needed to get the battery replaced. Aaron and Jerry came by 10 minutes after I called, jumped the car in 20 seconds and told me everything I needed to know. They were so helpful and kind. When they fixed the car the first time, it was fine. But the brakes kept making a weird noise. So, I brought the car back and asked them to look over the car again, since the brakes were done less than 1,000 miles earlier. They were impossible to get ahold of and then I did get them on the line, they sent me somewhere. Fine. But when they didn't fix anything, I brought it back to Caliper and told them the noise persisted. They simply said "Brakes make that noise". I said "But they were serviced less than 1,000 miles before and they were working perfectly before the accident." So long story short, I had to contact the insurance again to have them pay for a simple diagnosis of the car, because Caliper couldn't at least humor me by putting the car up and checking. read more

Their customer service is terrible. My car was hit and it was a very minor accident. I went there because it was one of the shops State Farm Insurance uses. After getting my estimate I waited a week for the part to come in. I brought my car back on a Wednesday and they said it would be ready on Friday afternoon. I was working, and they close at 5:30 so I asked my husband and son to pick up the car for me. Since they hadn't contacted him by late in the day, my husband called and they said it wouldn't be ready until Monday morning. I cleared my work schedule on Monday morning and called to arrange to pick up my car. Whoever answered the phone said Angelica would call me right back. After waiting two hours she still hadn't called so I called them back. They said the bumper hadn't been attached yet and they had to wash the car. I told them I didn't want my car washed, I just wanted it back. When I didn't hear from anyone by 4 pm, I called again and told them I was picking my car up at 5 pm. I wasted a whole day waiting for them to contact me. I went there at 5 pm and my car was ready but they didn't offer apologies for my loss of work time or inconvenience in arranging a ride to get my car. I will never go there again and I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more
