I had a very positive first experience and have referred this body shop to others. My bumper needed repair in just one section. Another shop told me that I had to replace the entire bumper. I brought my car to Fruitvale Collision and the owner, Robert, was very knowledgeable and gave me options plus he would help clean up some other scratches on the car. An Experience Like No Other! This was a total stroke of luck that I stopped by this shop based on yelp search. I have had holes in my back bumper that got dislodged and started flopping on the highway, so its been held by electrical tape for months now! My front bumper was dented and also coming off. I have been looking to replace them both and going through other shops that gave me extremely high estimates (up to $3500!) on an old Toyota Matrix, which is honestly half the value of the car! Not only the owner (Maybe Robert) helped me think through the most logical decision and told me he would try and fix the bumper on the spot! The whole interaction was so nice, there was no crazy numbers, no technical part descriptions, no pressure whatsoever. He was kind, honest and very transparent about costs and options. Showed me various parts, was clear on how much the labor would cost etc. I was able to get out of the shop in under half an hour with a perfect fix for my issue! I will definitely be back there to get all my dents, fixes and car body issues resolved. Had some damage to my rear quarter panel and called a few places for quotes. Fruitvale Collision Center gave me the lowest quote by far and I decided to stop by their shop to get a more accurate estimate. After they took a look at the damages, they suggested it would be best for me to go to a paintless dent remover and just use touch up paint to save myself money (as this was important to me and I did not want to file an insurance claim). I was shocked that they were not pressuring me on services to get my business. Instead he gave me a low cost option. He gave me the contact for a dent remover and that was it. I believe Jose was who I met with and he was absolutely great. I would recommend others here if they are as honest as Jose was with me! read more

If you have a fender bender, don't go anywhere else! Jose is hands down one of the most ethical and trustworthy people I've met in the auto repair business. I brought in my 12-year-old car after a minor accident. Other shops were quoting me $1,500-4000 to replace the bumper, trim, wheel, and repaint everything. Since I was paying out of pocket, that just wasn't realistic. Jose took one look at it, grabbed some paint thinner, and within minutes made the damage look like nothing more than a few light scratches. No upsell. No pressure. And he didn't charge me a single penny. He said - "that's the way I'd handle something like this on my car." Jose even gave me advice on where to buy the replacement trim at a reasonable price and installed it for me for a very reasonable cost when I came back. Jose and his crew are awesome! My car's driver door got hit, sideswiped and the fender was also damaged. FYI I have a beater car. I was told by another body shop that it would cost a lot to get it fixed and suggested to buy another car instead but Jose had a different solution to my car door problem. Fantastic service from Fruitvale Collision! I called about fixing my Honda Fit's bumper and sent pics to Robert. The bumper was starting to fall off and the liner(?) underneath was bent from a minor parking lot fender bender. He said to come on by and it would prob be an easy fix. Came by same-day and they hammered out the dent in the liner(?) and re-fastened the bumper within 15-20min and didn't charge me a thing! These guys are legit - I ran my Honda Civic over a curb and dented the right fender, so the passenger side door didn't open all the way. I went around to a couple body shops in Oakland to get quotes, and I was getting estimates of a couple hundred just to fix it (making it look perfect was gonna be even more - I didn't really care though since it was an older car). Went here and the guy just messed with it for a couple minutes with a pry bar, and it opened and closed perfectly! I asked him how much I owed him but he said don't worry about it.
