This site used to be amazing. They always made sure the repairs were exact and good-as-new. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill just within the past year. My car was hit by someone else, and after working on my car for 2 weeks, they told me it was ready. When I went to pick it up, there were still multiple items wrong with it - none of the panels/bumpers had been realigned, trim was barely holding on, and a piece of trim was still missing (they were waiting on the order - but they said I could take it home even though the rain that day would have gotten into the door). So I left it for another week. As I'm picking up today, there are still 3 items out of alignment and I'm told by my service advisor, Tiffany, that this was the best they could do. Pity. When Bill Smith worked here, he would have made sure the customer was happy. Instead, Tiffany just walked away and had nothing else to say. Christina at the front was amazing, but the service manager (Tiffany) left much to be desired regarding customer service. read more

March 30, 2021 had to get more information for Liberty Mutual today. Cost is the same $2100. DeMontrond estimate tomorrow --------------/ March 29, 2021 according to my car insurance, Liberty Mutual...my estimate from them last week wasn't good enough so, I gotta go back. This company is their "preferred " repair shop but, I'm still getting the Mazda dealership to do estimate as well. Called caliber today to make appointment for tomorrow...held for 6 minutes at 3pm. Appointment is set for tomorrow. I used them for a quote last year (2020) on my 2011 Mazda damage from youngster during spring break...compared to local shops 50% higher in price. (See photo) ------//-/////------- March 25, 2021 came in, got quote from Gina for $2023! (This is the place my insurance, Liberty Mutual) They quoted taking all kinds of parts off, recalibration of this and that, and my paint...don't get me started...it's a beauty but costly. Heck, the labor alone was quoted at 33 hours (yikes) and 7 work days. I dunno. They are a corporation and they do good work but IS IT EXAGGERATED? That's the $20k question Manuel's and Tomcats (local shops) both quoted me $900 and 3 days. FYI. But, are they as good?!! Hmm? Will go to DeMontrond Mazda next week and get quote. I had a terrible experience at this auto repair shop. It took them a whole month to repair my vehicle and they kept changing the completion date. When I finally picked up my car, they pressured me to leave a review and didn't even discuss what work was done on my car. After I got home, I noticed that the badge/logo was missing from the front bumper. I contacted them more than three times to have it mailed to me, so I could attach it myself, but they never sent it and didn't seem to care. Another month has passed. Both the management and employees didn't follow through with what they promised. If something as small as a badge is missing, who knows what else they could have missed? I've escalated this to my insurance company to get a resolution. read more

BEWARE you should take a picture of your mileage and gasoline before you leave it with them. I bought a full tank four days before and only drove to get my nails done about 15 min each way. When my car was picked up I immediately noticed the mileage was high and I had 20 miles left. I almost ran out of gas. When I called they had very lame excuses but offered a gar card twice! I didn't want a card as I believed/know that they "borrowed" my car. And drove it one gas tank worth. Since I had no definitive way to prove this (my bad for not taking a picture) I called USAA my Insurer as they were an authorized repair shop. Since we are excellent customers she accelerated the claim so at least a phone call could be made to put them on notice so maybe this would not happen to someone else. So take a picture. read more

I cannot say better things about Caliber Collision in Galveston! They did a stellar job of fixing my car, even giving it a car wash and cleaning its interior before returning it. The estimated timeline for my repair was originally a week and a half, but they got it done in 4 days. The staff was also incredibly friendly and nice; thank you Erin for the prompt updates on my car and the kindness when returning it back. This is the worst shop I have ever been to, I was in a auto accident and I was not at fault and my insurance sent me to this shop of which I am sending a letter to my insurance company to take them off there list . 3 months of work and still its not all fixed first I was rear-ended and the back bumper had to be replaced and the front bumper had to be repaired and he hatch . They did not even look to see if my muffler was ok from the rearinding they sent it home for me to find out they had not fixed it. Then my underlighting they would not send it out and tried to fix it 3 times could not do it I mean how hard is it? 3 months 3 times I took it home and had to return it because it was not fixed...And there MANAGER told my insurance company that I was messing with the lighting , like why would I want to harm my car. NEVER GO HERE PEOPLE there mechanic is so uneducated in mechanics he can no see a bent muffler ........ read more

In my opinion the management has lied to me about the work being done on my car I was told 3 different completion dates still not done they told me in the beginning there was Frame damage then told 30days later there was no frame damage I found in my car on the passenger side a complete instruction on how to replace the frame pieces then when I do pick it up I was not allowed to test drive it to check the work until I signed and paid deductible why would a customer sign and pay for something without testing it or checking their work that to me is shady as hell I do not recommend caliber collision read more

They were pretty helpful in getting me set up, and quick to get repairs started. One thing that really got me though was they went and did some repairs without calling us to verify or showing any kind of proof. When they fixed the bumper, they had problems with another part of the car. This nearly doubled the price of what they quoted to us. They noted this was common in the type of accident I had, but it wasn't clear why they didn't look for that to begin with. They really tried to downplay it, but honestly I'll look elsewhere in the future. read more

Go here if you want it done by professionals. I've had work done on my Altima twice and the job done here is high quality - they include a lifetime warranty and stand by their work. Each time I called the phone was promptly answered and the employees were efficient and helpful. The clerks stand to greet you, and all employees in the office pay attention to and welcome customers. I was impressed with their communication, managers called daily to update me with their progress. CC stays booked up so I had to make an appointment and wait a couple days to get in however, they mean business and when its your cars time in the shop they focus on it and get the job done quickly. The process was very smooth. Overall the repairs couldn't have been done any better and the shop exemplifies what customer service is all about. read more

Our car was hit on I-45 and our insurance agency recommended Caliber. Did it take a while? Yes - because they were very thorough and everything was done correctly! Everett kept us informed the entire time and we were always aware of what was happening. Cars today are far more complicated than in the past and it can take time for all the parts to come in - and come in correctly. We appreciated that they did not rush through it and our lovely AUDI now looks brand new! We will return if we ever need body work in the future. read more

Really too busy to deal with my daughters vehicle after an accident because of all the vehicles "we took in due to hurricane Harvey". Called me instead of my husband to get us to contact our insurance company( they were told to call my husband). Isn't that part of your job is dealing with insurance. After having the vehicle for 30 days they finally decided to total it. This probably could have been done sooner. Would have been nice to have more time to search for a replacement. The auto industry from start to finish is one where the possibility of getting screwed is just accepted - that's sad. When I needed my rear bumper repaired, these guys took care of me and my car and delivered service I didn't think existed in this business. The rental car process was smooth and communication was great. I was called every other day to let me know the progress of my car, parts being ordered and just overall status of the repair work. When I picked up my car, it looked like it was supposed to, and I have not seen any signs where the work done would need to be redone. I am a college student and my insurance company recommended Caliber Collision when I got into a car accident on March 6th while I was out of town in Dallas. I got back to Galveston and called to set up an appoint, this is when the issues started and they just kept coming after. I will never use this company again. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and INCOMPETENT STAFF. I didn't get in to see an inspector until March 30th, and this was after calling multiple times to try and set up appointments. When I finally go the quote from them and sent it to my insurance company, the money was given to Caliber almost immediately so they could order parts and start the repair process. That day, I made an appointment for a week later to drop off my car to begin repairs. The day of my appointment, a representative called me telling me that, because I had a Suzuki and that company has stopped making cars, they hadn't gotten the parts yet. Caliber told me it would be 2-3 weeks until they were able to get the parts. FINE, my car is drivable, I can wait. 2 weeks later, after not hearing a word from Caliber the entire time period, I called to see if they had the parts yet. They had a whole slew of excuses as to why the parts STILL HAD NOT BEEN ORDERED to fix my car. 1) The only company in Houston that deals with Suzuki's isn't answering their phones 2) Suzuki parts are difficult to find 3) We can't find another dealer to order the parts, etc. At this point, 2 MONTHS after my car accident, I was so frustrated with the lack of communicate and inability to do their job that I called my insurance company, they took the money back and I went to another auto-shop that I have used before in my hometown, Seguin. They have been able to get the parts necessary to fix my vehicle at their shop in 3 DAYS and begin repairing my car. All I have to say is that I am sorry I didn't go with a different auto-shop from the beginning. They will never be getting business from me again. My insurance company has also taken them off the list of auto-shops they recommend in the Galveston area. read more

Wonderful service from the time I got an on line estimate to the day I picked up my car. I had front driver's side damage from the bumper to the side view mirror. Every detail was repaired perfectly and looks like new. Before I picked up my car, it had been washed, buffed and vacuumed inside. I couldn't be happier, The customer service from all was professional but also had a warm and friendly attitude. It did take longer than expected but it was over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Reno kept in touch with me via email and also phone calls to keep me updated on the progress. I have never written a review on a place but have read many. I always think to myself when reading a bad review, I wonder if the person writing the review gave the business another chance or made their point of issue clear to the offending business... Well the issues Ive had with caliber collision, are not only rookie mistakes but their business had a second chance to correct an issue. The issue is about the airbag sensor, which in my book makes them a little more important then say, a nick or a scratch after pick up. Airbag sensors are a safety concern. To start with the minor issue first, for some reason- they removed the hard top on my yellow hard top convertible and stood it up on end on the bare concrete making about an 8inch gouge in the paint. Every service guy should know these have racks that they go on to keep them off the floor and not tork and twist to keep their fit. Why they removed the convertible top in the first place is beyond me. The damage was $400 done on the front bumper! Im sure they wanted to see it with the top off, at my expense. The more important issue is the Airbag light now stays on and never turns off when drinving. This happened after drop off. I drove the car 2 weeks before they let me in for service and was not on. The adjuster looked also. They always do on a front bumper claim, he informed me. Well, The light first appeared right after pick up but went off so it took me a while to realize the light was on and then staying on. When I called them and told them, it had been about a month and I was told Im on my own. Dealing with geico, i was told to take it somewhere else and authorize the work but if the situation is from the accident it was covered. If not I had to pay. I finally got a hold of geico and have an appt with a reputable business here in Galveston. Franks auto body on 39th. Caliber was given a second chance today. I had to call them back for the claim number and the adjusters name. I had lost the email with the info. They gave it to me and then informed me there was new mgmt. I spoke with the new mgr. Klous, I think his name was..... The new mgr was mad because I was telling him the issues and he seemed to get more mad as I spoke. Not mad at his rookie service help but mad at ME for telling him how the service appt should have gone for me and the lack of taking issue with a safety issue such as an airbag. I told him he was exposing his company. This was a safety issue they should tend to in any case. He didn't like that much and told me there was nothing he could do. Now he or one of his employees will wish they treated me better when they read this. From a business point of view and a legal one, a good business would always be concerned over a safety issue. Never would a good collision center tell someone they are on their own for an airbag issue. They could have at least pulled me in and looked at it, THEN told me to hit the road. Oh well, I gave them a 2 rating because they did take the car back and painted the gash they put on the top. I was pleased they did that atleast! I know accidents happen and service men can be sloppy and careless. No excuse but only reality. The airbag sensor sits right where they did the work. They should have owned up instead of leaving someone to drive unsafe. I already turned a lady friend away from them and she went to a place on Teichman road. I wrote this quick. sorry for errors. Very dissatisfied with the service we received. When I picked up the truck the first time I got a mile or so down the road, rolled the window down to adjust the mirror and it wouldn't go back up. Something had been damaged when they were repairing the vehicle. I took it back for them to repair the window and pointed out a place where the paint was already peeling. They kept it overnight to fix. I came the next day and was told they had to order a part and would call when it was in. When I got home I saw that they had simply just put paint over the peeling paint that I pointed out. Two weeks later I called to find out if the part was in and they said it had been in for 5 days. So, I guess they don't make customer contact. I also said that I had a paint spot that wasn't repaired correctly and the lady on the phone was very short and condescending about it. I wish I had been recording the call. She spoke to me as if I were 2 years old. I was going to take my suburban in for repair at the same time as the truck, but I guess they just lost a customer. read more
