Matt McCarty gave me an estimate as a walk-in. I was born on the island & did not know of this establishment as a collision center until I Googled. I also have not actually known the steps of making a claim with an insurance company and know the process it takes. My husband passed & my adult kids are now busy with adulting. My insurance company did an A.I. estimate on my vehicle and my accident was way undervalued. Matt explained why the estimate looked like that and explained the process to me. I did see he had several customers but his communication with me and acknowledging everyone he came in contact with was real appealing. Joe Hudson's Collision Center - Body Shops Near Me - Galveston, Texas

I am not a fan of Joe Hudson in Galveston. I took my truck in to have the tailgate painted. I told the lady at the desk I had an allowance of $411.60 from Allstate to get it painted and wanted to know if they could do it for that. I got a call from Jody Herrington the estimator and he wanted to confirm all I needed was the tailgate painted. I said yes and I wanted to know the cost. He said he would get back to me. He didn't. I sent an email a couple of hours later requesting that he verify the cost would be $411.60. His reply was, "tailgate is in paint". I replied, "You did not answer my question about the paint so, I assume that the $411.60 that Allstate allowed is all I will need to pay.". The next morning he responded the cost is $576.10. Had I known this, I would have taken it to another body shop who had given me a lower price. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I told Jody he screwed me over by not informing me of the cost before he started work as I had requested. When I questioned Jody about it and the ridiculous time to disassemble the tail gate he had on the invoice, he got pissy with me. I had to take the tailgate apart to install the backup camera, key cylinder adjust the latch rods and remove the step to work on it. That took maybe 30 min. NOT 2.9 HOURS THAT THEY CHARGED JUST TO REMOVE PLASTICS FOR PAINTING. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. read more

Was recommended by a local wrecker company after a front end collision, It took two and a half months to receive my vehicle only to find that they had reused visibly damaged parts which I had to pay out of pocket to replace even though I had informed them of this issue. I had to return apx. 4-5 times just to get some missing parts, The paint job was good but had a bunch of small white specs all within the black paint. They did not want to help on the aftermarket parts that were damaged in the wreck and had been paid for to replace. A friend of mine also went there for a front end collision and even though insurance had paid these guys to repair and replace all damaged parts Tennison left a damaged rim still on the vehicle, Did NOT even bother replacing a skidplate that was part of a bumper guard. You can visibly see the poor electrical job they did of rewiring, Open end wires hanging down not even with twist-on wire connectors. I would not recommend this business. read more

Incredibly disappointed in this shop! My 2015 Audi was struck while parked on the street at the end of August. I did a fair amount of online research before deciding which shop to use for the repairs. I unfortunately decided to take my car to Classic Collision on Harborside. I am a Galveston resident and when possible I like keep my business to on the island. I assumed that the shop would be adequate due to their association with a reputable car dealership on the island,I could not have been more wrong! I dropped my car off mid September for a repair that was estimated to take 5 days. After about a week I called the shop for an update and I was told that the parts had been ordered and that they generally take 2-6 weeks to arrive. I would have liked to know that information ahead of time but I understood the delay. Two and a half weeks in to the "repair" I called again for an update. I was told that some parts had arrived and they disassembled the damaged area of my car and found that they needed to order more parts. More days went by and not once did I receive a call from the shop with an update. Each time I had to call only to learn there was another delay. The delays included ordering the wrong part, another delay was due to a defective part, delays in submitting supplements, delays due to the employee handling my file being out of the office, and the list goes on. Flash forward 5 weeks when I was told that my car was finished and ready to be picked up. I got into my car and immediately noticed a warning light reporting head light failure (the light they replaced). I looked at the area of the car they had repaired and noticed the front bumper was no longer aligned with the hood and the new fender was misshaped. The shop personnel agreed that the car needed more work and so I left the car. Nearly two weeks (almost 7 weeks after dropping off my car) I was told that my car was finished. My husband picked up the car and thankfully the head light was working but he again noted the bumper was not in line with the hood. Additionally there is sediment under the new paint and several drip marks in the paint. My husband discussed the issues with the shop manager and his reply was "it doesn't look like new because it's a wrecked car." If that is the philosophy of this collision center they are sure to fail! To be fair I should mention that there were delays due to the insurance company. I hold the shop accountable for this because of their failure to communicate. Had the informed me of the issues I would have been on the phone with the insurance daily. Additionally the employee who was handling my file was out of the shop frequently so my "file" was left sitting. I have been so discouraged and frustrated by this shop that I feel my only retribution is spreading the word about my disgust. To my surprise everyone I speak to has the same opinion of the shop... they are terrible! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR STAY AWAY!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!!! HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!! The people at this shop are the most unprofessional, unskilled, lazy group I have ever dealt with. I took my Infinity FX in for repair after an accident and was told I needed a front and rear bumper, as well as back wheel repair. They kept my car for over a month and a half, promising each week it would be ready by end of the week. Only after I started calling the shop every day and getting mad, did they finally get the work done. When I did get it back, the paint job was horrible! There were paint drips and hand prints in the paint. They forgot to replace a trim piece that was broken, my console lights were no longer working, my car was rattling, a sensor light was on and my car was thumping. When I told the shop about these new issues (that did not exist before), the shop guy (Ralph) who had been giving me the run around for the month and a half and the Manager (Sam) refused to fix the paint mess nor the mechanical issues even though I have a written guarantee. I now have to take my car to another shop and pay a skilled mechanics and body repair to fix the problems that this shop created and refuse to take responsibility for. HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!! read more
