I just bought a boat with California Boat Company and couldn't be more thrilled for my experience. I was working with Joe Graham, and I couldn't imagine getting this kind of experience with anyone else. I originally starting talking to Joe over a year ago about getting a boat. Throughout the whole process, he wasn't pushy one bit. When I told him last year I wanted to wait until this year to buy a boat, he completely understood and was very patient. When we felt it was time to revisit this conversation with Joe this year, he worked with us on every detail of the boat to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, while staying within budget. He gave us his honest opinion on certain features we may not need based on the kind of boating we were doing. When we finally got everything finalized, the timeframe he gave us was very reasonable on when we should expect the boat, but it came in a lot sooner which was super exciting. When we went to go see it, Joe had the boat pulled up waiting for us. We went inside and met Tim who was great, and signed all paperwork. Now the delivery of the boat was where he really stood out. Joe drove 2.5 hours to our lake to make sure everything was perfect for us on the boat. To get to our dock, it is super narrow and shallow along with covered with hanging tree branches. Joe was climbing the trees cutting down branches while wearing nice clothes to make it possible for us to get our boat through. While we had accepted a long time ago it wasn't going to be possible getting our boat to our dock due to the narrowness and shallow water, Joe made it possible and showed me exactly how to maneuver the boat in and out. Aside from this, he showed me every single thing about the boat itself, along with going over every single thing we will be doing with it such as launching it, docking, and loading onto the trailer. We were invited to "Surfin' Sunday" on the Sacramento River. It was an amazing opportunity to learn about MasterCrafts and how our family would function in it. We spent a couple hours on the river in their demo boat with the Service Manager who drove, explained features and options, and answered questions. As a bonus, an amazing Hyperlite Wakesurf rep/instructor joined us and got everyone up and riding (even the old guy! lol). We saw first-hand how the boat's features help the rider. Between the expertise of the Service Manager and the wakesurf instructor, we were able to experience what a day on the lake would be like for us in a MasterCraft (nice!). If you're reading this - you know this is a big investment - and I have to ask why other dealers don't give you an opportunity to experience their boats - on the water - before you buy. We live just two bays over from their facility at Discovery Bay and on the day of my scheduled service our engine would not start because of a dead battery. I called Michael and told him I would be tardy, that the engine would not start because of a dead battery, and he sent Anthony over with a new battery..............within minutes of my phone call. There were several items to be accomplished in addition to the 100 hour service and all were completed on time and at an excellent price. Mike is a wonderful, accommodating, service manager. We just purchased a Little Guy trailer from Gary at NorCal Master Craft. Working with him was a terrific experience. He was very clear and didn't try to push more add-ons. Our trailer ended up arriving 1 week early and we couldn't pick it up right away. Gary let us store it there for a week while we were getting the towing figured out. When we arrived we still had some issues but Gary was extremely helpful and even hooked up his truck to test out the wiring. I highly recommend Gary and absolutely love our Little Guy! read more

We took off from work early last Wednesday and towed our Cobalt to the marina to use as a trade-in on a new MasterCraft but when we got there a little after 1, the place was closed! Door was locked and no one around. We asked the guy that let us park by the wash racks if he knew where any salesperson was and all he said was that they should be there in their office. We asked him about the place and he told us that it was the old mastercraft dealership that closed down! We returned there but still no one! It appears that this "new" dealership is just the old place with a new name. A lot of the reviews here are in regards to the NorCal M/C store and not this new one. There are even reviews here that were posted by employees! Rinehart was a manager as well as others. Since that is the case, and now our wasted day bringing our trade to make a deal on a new boat, we are going elsewhere. As the old saying goes, buyer beware. read more

Inquired about a used boat that was advertised on the internet and was quickly and extremely rudely turned away by "Rick" I inquired about the bottom price on the boat, (because I live 4 hours away and realistically wouldn't be able to see it in person) and was met with these two messages me- "Is the price is flexible." Rick @ norcalmastercraft- "Some what however until currently below book and very light hours with a strong engine with level compression" Me- "Looks decent but with the boat being well over 20 years old and sun faded I think realistically it's worth something like $5-6k Let me know if you're willing to deal. We worked with Joe to purchase our 2021 Mastercraft XT22 starting in April of 2021 and are extremely happy with how the process went. Originally we looked at existing inventory but were not happy with what was available and he did not push us to buy at all. Joe was upfront about the process and the amount of time it would take to receive our custom order. We ended up getting one of the last production slots that they had and custom designed a boat that fit our style. Joe was very helpful through the process and did not try and upsell us on un necessary options. The boat arrived at the end of July and unfortunately had some issues around the gel coat and paint. Joe treated the boat as his own and marked all blemishes including ones we didn't even see and had the warranty work scheduled ASAP. It took about 2 weeks to get the boat back and Joe scheduled a time to take the boat out to go through everything before officially handing it over to us. We are new to boating and Joe took the time to explain everything to us and was excited to help us get going on our boating journey. My local service center was booked up for two months so I decided to give these guys a try. I dropped the boat off for service with a bearing go out on my axle. I also decided to get the 100 hour service since it was in the shop and had been a year since being serviced. I dropped the boat off on April 26th and was leaving town on a two week trip. I was told I would get a call about the axle and how the repair would proceed. Left country for 2 weeks....no calls to cell or home while gone. Got back in town and was busy and did not call them for another week. Finally 3 weeks after I dropped it off I called to get a status and was told I would have to buy a new axle for $1200 and that it would take 2 weeks to order. I waited the two weeks and gave them another week of play. I called after the 3 weeks and was told that this was a custom axle and it was taking longer than expected but should be in the following week. I asked if they had at least done the engine service so I wouldn't have to wait much longer after they got the axle. I was told they like to do the work all at the same time and that when the axle comes in they put that on and then a day or two to do the engine work. Axle came in on June 17th....got a call on the 18th that the trailer was ready to go. However they now had looked at the engine finally and found it needed $400 additional work beyond the $900 100 hour service. I was a little upset to find this out just then, after 7 weeks in the shop already. During the call I voiced my displeasure about the length of time it was taking and that they were not very efficient in getting the work done....and I was losing a lot of summer boating time already. They said if I approve the new repair budget they would finish up on Friday and I could pick the boat up saturday morning. Got a call Friday afternoon and the repair is taking longer than anticipated and that they would work overtime on the weekend to get it done (there goes the sunday fishing trip). I asked how soon it would be done....they say early next week. Never once did I get a "sorry this is taking so long" we would like to give you a little discount for the trouble..but rather I got the "yeah when we got into the engine we found other things" kinda like when you take your car to the dealer for an oil change and they tell you the transmissions needs replaced. Guys...not a warm and fuzzy feeling. Too bad because they are just down the road from my house! read more

We have been shopping for boats for sometime. We saw a boat on the internet which was at Norcal Mastercraft. I called and spoke with Andrew Boost who provided me with information about the boat and even had the boat brought down from the Sacramento store to the Pleasanton store as this was much closer for me. Andrew offered to take us out on the water to make sure that we were happy with how this boat ran and drove. We met with Andrew who was very knowledgeable about boats and showed us the boat which was in very nice condition for a used boat. Our family looked at new boats and we liked the colors and size of one of the X10's that they had in stock. Andrew offered to take us out in the same model X10 boat which was already docked at the marina a short drive away.Andrew took us out for a test drive. He explained all the options and demonstrated to us how everything worked. It was pretty amazing how patient Andrew was with us especially after all of the questions that we had for him and the time he spent with us. We went back to the yard and I was concerned about how much the boat was going to be out the door. We were introduced to the General Manager Reinhard who wanted to make sure if we had any questions and enjoyed our test drive. We were not sure if we were going to be able to afford this boat and between Andrew and Reinhard they both made us a deal on this boat which was a pretty sweet deal that we couldn't pass up. Norcal Mastercraft made it super easy without any pressure to purchase our boat. Even though the boat look perfect they had it completely detailed and had there shop check out everything and delivered it to my home. I will have to say that Andrew and Reinhard made buying a boat quite a enjoyable non pressured experience. If your looking for a boat new or used I highly recommend giving Andrew or Reinhard a call. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain from there decades of experience and knowledge of boats. read more

Just purchased a new Bass Tracker from these folks and I must say, true professionals. Gary was our sales rep and my wife and I are so lucky to have met him. He's honest, knowledgeable, genuine and everything you would want as a sales consultant. He wasn't pushy at all and was willing to go the extra mile for us when we needed him to. We had a few hiccups in finance and I dont want to get into the details ...but the owner was able to sort it out very effectively and efficiently so that we could take the boat home. After we took the boat home, I almost immediately took it out to the waters because I was way too excited. I felt like a kid again waiting for the sun to rise so that I try out that new bike I got for my birthday. Upon taking the boat out, it stalled on us a few times. I was a little worried and lost a little confidence in the boat considering that it was brand new...so called the owner and he immediately sent John, one of his master certified technicians and addressed it accordingly. Again, I don't want to get into the details, but it turns out it was just a bad wiring harness from the factory. John got me a new one within a few days, installed it, and now everything is working like a charm. John's efforts in making us feel comfortable was exceptional. I truly believe if this was a different set of guys who helped us.... This deal would have been in the shitter. No joke. I am not the type of guy who gives chances and opportunities. I give it once and if you fu** it up, we're done. Moral of the story: Your going to face these hiccups, it's inevitable. It's how you handle them, that seperates the men from the boys. I bought a new Mastercraft from Norcal Mastercraft. Don't make the mistake I did. The Stereo does not work. (wakeboard/surf boat with no stereo). I have taken the boat to 3 different NorCal service departments over last 2 years and they could only change the oil and never have been able to fixed the Stero system. The boat is only 2 years old a 2015. They did leave the boat uncovered outside in Sacramento for 2 weeks and I now have permanent stains in the interior. I have even emailed Mastercraft and asked for help and as of this review I have had no call or email from Mastercraft. Just stay away and buy a Malibu or a Nautic if you are buying a Wakeboard/surf boat. read more

I recently bought a 2012 Zero S electric motorcycle. They got me a decent price on a demo model. My real reason for writing is to let everyone know that they did a great job of fixing a rather frightening defect. The motor began manifesting some problems nearly a week after the test drive. They transported it to and from my home for free and worked with Zero to fix and exhaustively test it. None of us could have predicted such a bizarre defect, but now everything works. I went to the Sacramento location to look at a used ski boat. I was assured by a sales guy Shawn that the boat was perfect and super clean because the service department worked on cleaning it for 3 days. I drove from out of town to check it out and the interior of the boat was a mess with multiplal broken parts. The batteries were dead so couldn't check anything like the stereo etc. The sales person Shawn didn't offer to get it working and said " well think about it" and walked away. The following day I made an offer based on the parts that needed repair and he replied " good luck finding another boat"! No counter offer or anything. I would shop around at other dealers first before going to nor-cal. It's obvious they don't want to " earn" my business in this terrible economy where boat sales are at a all time low. I hope the business owner reads this and teaches his sales rep how to follow up and make sales. I would have bought the boat if he wouldn't have been so rude and counter offered me. Jan P. On May 16th, a neighbor's 130' tree fell on our dock, our hoist and our beautiful Bennington pontoon boat and totally destroying everything. We were devastated, as we had friends and family invited to our lake house on June 27th. We immediately called Reinhard and Gary at NorCal Mastercraft and set up an appointment on May 19th. After telling them our story, Gary and Reinhard said they would do everything they could to expedite the delivery of our new Bennington pontoon boat from Indiana by June 27th. During the following six weeks, we had several calls from both men, assuring us that they were doing everything possible to get the boat delivered before all of our company arrived. On the morning of June 27th, Gary called and asked if it would be OK to deliver the boat around 10:00 PM. We were all amazed that he would be willing to deliver our new boat so late in the evening! True to his word, Gary arrived about 10:30 PM after working a full day, driving from Pleasanton to Sacramento to pick up the boat, then towing it up, after dark to PML, on winding roads! Despite our offers for him to spend the night, Gary thanked us and said that he had promised another delivery early the next morning, so he then had to return to Pleasanton, arriving there about 1:30 AM! If that's not going "above and beyond the call of duty", I don't know what is! Talk about SERVICE! We have been customers at NorCal MasterCraft for years also with our MasterCraft's, and needless to say, we have been very happy with both their sales and service departments. Their employees are not only friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, but they truly go out of their way to make and keep their customers happy. Just purchaced my New Bass Tracker v18 combo a few weeks ago from these guys. I worked with Matt in sales, who is genuine, and very knowledgeable about the products. The sales transaction was smooth and I was kept updated throughout the process. After taking delivery of my new Tracker, Matt came out and launced the boat with my girlfriend and I on the Delta. He showed us everything inside and out on the boat. Hes also an excellent fisherman, and we immediately started catching large Bass. After a couple weeks I had some minor issues. trailer light bulb out, and some minor interior issues. I called to make an appointment but was told they were very busy and i would not be able to come in right away. I explained I had just bought the boat, and needed it for a planned camping trip. I just finished dealing with this unprofessional shop and will never go back. We came in to ask for repairs on an insurance claim back in early August. The shop was non-responsive and took months to service our boat. In the end, we got terrible customer service and our boat is still not 100% repaired back to pre-accident conditions. The incompetent estimator at this shop contradicted our claim and refused to fix things that were absolutely damaged in the accident, claiming they were old damage. They are WRONG. Due to their unprofessionalism and incompetence, I have cancelled my insurance policy and I will NEVER do business with NorCal MasterCraft nor SKISafe Insurance again. Too bad, since I am buying a new boat this summer. They WILL NOT get my business. read more

I'm new to yelp but I saw that Nor Cal Mastercraft had very few reviews so I thought I would comment on my experience. I was very interested in buying a new MasterCraft X30 a few months ago after conducting lots of research. I liked the way the X30 looked significantly more than the Nautique 230. I went in and spoke with a young gentleman named Nick who answered all of my questions honestly and thoroughly. I told him that I would definitely be back to buy a boat from him but I wanted to wait for the 2014 models. He told me that was not a problem at all and gave me his card with his cell phone number and told me to call him absolutely anytime with questions and opinions on competitor's products, which I did. I went back a few weeks ago and unfortunately Nick no longer works there. I was greeted by Reinhart, the General Manager. He didn't seem to know too much about the product, comparable boats, or skiing/wakebarding and was VERY pushy and arrogant. I really didn't appreciate that sales style at all. Just didn't seem very genuine compared to Nick. Anyways, short story long, I left feeling uneasy and bought a Nautique 230 and couldn't be happier. The shop with ropes, vests, and boards is great and those guys are knowledgeable about skiing and wakeboarding as well as vests ect.... Also, I noticed in the comment below that there is a five star rating and comment from the General Manager of norcal...uh, nice. read more
