5 years later I'm writing a review for California Closets. What you say?? I just never got around to doing it when our newly built house had the closets installed, perfectly I might add. They look custom because each build is designed for your space only. Yes, you chose the materials, the lighting, the hardware, the style etc. but technically they aren't custom because an expert furniture maker didn't come in an build every piece by hand. To some that is important. To mere mortals not so much given the price for custom made furniture. Enough said. Their design and installation was fantastic and done on time. Subsequent follow up for "fine tuning" was likewise and always with a smile. Today two service staff came over for a quick, easy and minor repair. They came on time and while fixing the original issue looked over the whole install and found one little item we never noticed and repaired it. Additionally we had our entire 3 car garage done as well and that also received the look over. Ken and RalphI believe but I could be wrong --deserve gold stars. I had a very good experience with California Closets on a project that added cabinets and a workbench to my garage. My design consultant Alyssa Flores turned my concepts into a detailed design plan, and she provided lots of good input and suggestions while listening to my needs. The guys that performed the installation today were prompt, friendly, worked quickly, left my garage cleaner than when they arrived, and did a great job overall. I'm very pleased with the results and am confident this solution will meet my needs while also enhancing the look of my garage. Highly recommended. read more

Let me start by saying we have used CC for two previous houses and have loved the experience. We again requested a consultation for our new Carmel home. This experience was not so good. First, the Consultant would not come out, expecting us to do measurements. I know the pandemic is a pain, but please. The consultant then drew up plans for five closets, which were OK but lacking any creativity whatsoever. At that point, the Consultant told us they had a three month backlog on installation. That is the last time we heard from her. The attitude, I assume, was "here it is, take it or leave it". Have since gone to Closet World and have received much better customer service. A note to CC, there will be a time when you are not flooded with business and those of us on the consumer end have long memories... read more

Sally has helped me with four closets and a coupe small projects and I can't say enough about her. She is amazing with design, efficiencies and service. While not the cheapest California closets gives you a great product and great service at an appropriate price. I tried the cheaper competitor and got a closet that was less organized and a product that fell apart. read more

Wonderful customer service! I had a broken hinge on our closets cabinet acrylic doors. We had California Closets design a closet for our daughter years ago. The staff was not only able to find the part, but they honored the warranty and sent us four hinges free of charge. Somehow they searched for and found the parts. Great experience with this place. I have a long, narrow kitchen with enough cabinet space for me and my stuff, but not enough counter space. I was using two stacking 36" open bookcases to hold my miscellaneous gear. While looking for something Ikea-like to possibly HIDE my miscellaneous stuff behind closed doors, I saw an ad for California Closets. I figured the place mainly catered to people who were doing whole-room or whole-garage make-overs, and not people with moderate budgets like myself, but there was a free consultation so I figured I'd give it a shot. I expected to be up-sold and pressured. I wasn't. The designer really listened to what I wanted and made great suggestions to enhance the functionality and appearance of my initial design. She was respectful of my budget and didn't try to 'up-sell' me. We created a plan that could be done either in stages or all at once, and when I decided to scale back on the full design, Sally made the change very quickly and got me my corrected drawings within hours. The installer was a local guy who was very professional, very committed to having everything fit perfectly, and very into explaining how to use everything. So a positive experience that didn't bankrupt me -- and now my little kitchen is both functional and beautiful. read more

California Closets was the perfect solution for our kid's rooms. We could have saved a lot of money over time by avoiding the purchase of costly dressers and substandard storage units. Amazing product & service from initial contact to finished installation. When I first sent inquiry to CC they phoned back within an hour to schedule a convenient appointment day & time. Grace is my CC rep and she is awesome, professional, helpful & great to work with. She brings her computer/tablet & you can design your room, closet, etc. in a virtual fashion. Very fair pricing for a quality product. The installation crew was great, efficient, tidy (I'm picky) & communicated with me easily if there were any questions. Today I met with Grace form CA Closets in Carmel. Our situation is unique per very steep angled walls in 4 closets. What I apreciated includes her experience, her graciousness and her honesty. Grace showed me 1 - 2 pieces she could install but as they did not really improve the quirky situation we both agreed it probably wasn't worth it. We both identified a simple clothing re-arrangement I could make . I will for sure tell my friends about this positive encounter with CA Closets. The planning and design were excellent because the sales consultant came to our house, viewed the closet, took measurements, used a CAD program to show us various designs, made adjustment and changes to our requirements, showed us different materials and finishes, and took care of pricing and delivery schedule. The delivery and set-up were also very efficient. The installers arrived at the time scheduled, protected the floors and walls for delivery, and worked diligently until the system was installed. They then showed us how to move shelves and hanger rods in the event that we needed to move them in the future. And, best of all, the closet system looks better in the house than it does online and we are able to hang all of our clothes in a modest space. read more

We moved in to a new home this summer and I went from a large walk-in closet to a significantly smaller wall closet, so I was in dire need of some organizational assistance. Grace at California Closets was there to help me design a closet that maximized the useable space allowing me to fit a walk-in closet's worth of clothes, shoes, etc. in a much smaller space. We used California Closets in 2010 to build a desk, bookshelves, desk drawers and display cases in my home office and just last month invited them back to install shelves and a broomcloset in my wife's laundry room. I had been wanting to replace my old Home Depot walk in closet for a while, and when we contacted Grace at California Closets she made it happen. We went through a few material changes and fittings additions but finally settled on the final design. Grace was very attentive through the whole project and we felt as if we were her only customer, (which we were clearly not).
