Iced whole milk latte with cold foam (left) & maple brown sugar espresso (right)
Sam R.

The vibe was super calm and clean at 9 am on a Saturday. The staff was friendly and smiley :) I got the iced maple brown sugar espresso which was so yummy, very strong coffee flavor and a lot of sweetness (coming from someone who usually adds 2-3 splenda always) and my boyfriend got an iced latte with vanilla cold foam & he also enjoyed. Drinks were out in maybe 5 minutes and there was plenty of seats to chill in. Overall very glad we tried this place when we were down the shore, not disappointed!

First time trying California Coffee and it was great! They have a solid selection and really nice espresso machines. Didn't try the foods or pastries yet but will try next time. The cold brew was solid and they offer coffee ice cubes so the drinks don't get watered down which was great. The specialty coffee was also good maybe a little sweet so if you like it less sweet just be sure to ask for it. well definitely be back and would recommend trying if you're nearby!

So first time here and while they've been open a year and a half I must say the experience was very nice. Very home feeling a place to hang out do work cool vibes all around the Masha you can tell is definitely feels a lot more compared to Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks has that real earth taste, I would definitely rate this a 3.9 out of 5 end I would say that this size is probably compared to a grande for about the same price with cold foam

Milk with a splash of coffee

I ordered a dark roast cold brew with a little splash of half and half and it was white. It tasted like straight milk. My husband ordered a drink and it was so sweet and completely undrinkable. We both threw the drinks away. And what's worse, is the wait. We ordered and waited over 10 min for 2 drinks. They cater to online orders I guess and don't prioritize the people standing there. That's absurd in itself. Find a balance. I'll never go back though....

btw their prices are wrong online.

tbh just go to starbucks or rook. it's a wanna be "hipster" starbucks. i will never recommend this place. how can you mess up a cold brew. dead lol. legit was in there 20 minutes, 3 of my drinks were wrong. i mean what? nothing was labeled had no idea which was which, they didn't either. the coffee was mid. i won't go here again. prices are wrong on line. 3/10. legit trash.

Almond milk latte

I've been to their Manalapan location a few times but it's so dark and dreary in there so I was happy to see they have a new bright and airy location. The place is clean, wide and open. I ordered two lattes, hot--one with oat milk the other with almond. The oat milk latte was fine. The almond milk latte was not. I don't know how a specialty coffee shop doesn't use barista almond milk. Using regular almond milk doesn't give the latte that thick steamed milk texture and leaves you with an almost salty taste in your mouth.

Delicious coffee! They have unique crafted coffee drinks on their menu and can make nearly anything. The staff is kind & attentive and happily made suggestions on what to order. It's also super cute inside - could totally see myself getting a coffee and staying for a bit to get some work done!

Avocado Toast with hot honey. Overpriced at $8.50.

Being a huge fan of coffee and all things coffee-related, I was incredibly excited to see a new shop opening up in a plaza near me. After what seemed like half a year of waiting to open, California Cold Co is finally here, and... it's not half bad, but I also have some gripes. First time I came here was after work at 6:12pm on a Friday, needing a quick pick-me-up after a fairly exhausting day. I arrived to a locked door, with absolutely no signage whatsoever giving their hours or open/closed status. Fine. While not thrilled that they didn't feel the need to post any hours, I figured I'd try again the next day. I arrived the next day at around 10:30am, and boy the place was mobbed. The line stretched all the way to the door, and after a long wait I ordered something fairly simple: an iced coffee (large) and some avocado toast. The latter, I was informed would be an additional 15 minute wait. I was a bit surprised by this, since it should just be a matter of having some toast and smearing a bunch of avocado onto it? Not sure what's so complex about it. While sorta tasty, I didn't think the avocado toast was anything all that special, and especially at the price of $8.50 wasn't at all worth it imo. The coffee was tasty and among some of the better iced coffee's I've had, but again - at the price of ~$6 for a large, is a bit much. All in all, not bad, but very expensive for what you get. Better hours would be nice, as would better prices. Right now, this feels like your average yuppie "fancy coffee" place like Starbucks, or any other franchise you'd see in a mall. Might be back for an iced coffee if I'm feeling exceptionally lazy, but otherwise forgettable.

Love this place! So happy it opened, it's only about 1 mile up the road from me. Beautifully decorated, comfortable seating with plenty of space available, the staff is always friendly, and every single drink my fiancé and I have ordered we have enjoyed! We've visited a few times, and it's now become our Friday morn treat. The lavender syrup has easily become my fave, it's delicious and I hope it stays year round! I did order the avocado toast and even though it was great, I feel that $8.50 for it is extremely steep; it's just 2 pieces of dave's killer bread with avocado, red pepper flakes & hot honey drizzle. My fiancé said the plain croissant with butter was very good. We're looking forward to trying new things!

New, clean place for a great cup of coffee. I ordered a latte and the avocado toast. Mine was GF toast. They add some hot honey to the top and it was fantastic. Highly recommend this place for service with a smile!

By far the best coffee shop I have been to hands down. Between the incredible coffee, the great food, the awesome decor and the employees all being extremely nice. Absolutely loved it.

I ordered the Mom Burger, which is a Swiss burger topped with mushrooms on a brioche bun. It also came with a good portion of fries and a side of pickles. The burger itself was pretty solid -- good flavor and a satisfying size. At $16, the portion felt fair considering the amount of fries you get with it. One thing I noticed was an additional charge for sauces. I asked about it, and they explained that all their sauces are made in-house, which is why they charge $1 per sauce. Honestly, that makes sense when they're homemade. Now the star of the show for me was actually the drink. After looking over the menu a bit more, I decided to try the LA Metro coffee drink with almond milk. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but for $5.99, I have to say it was really good. Definitely something I'd order again. I also want to mention the customer service. The girl working at the counter was extremely nice -- probably some of the best customer service I've had in a while. She didn't rush anything, answered my questions, and was very professional and friendly. I asked about the specials, the cakes they offer, and even whether they were doing a St. Patrick's Day platter, which they are. Overall, it was a really good experience. Good food, great drink, and excellent customer service. I'd definitely recommend stopping by Taylor Sam's if you're in the area.
