Things were going well until our dogs (Nandi & Nefi) came back home sick two days in a row. We have stopped taking our twin French Bulldogs Nandi & Nefi there because we didn't find out that they were sick until we got them back home and that was very concerning. We ended up paying and tipping very well and no compensation was offered up on the two days our girls came home sick. They both ingested what looked like "couch foam" you know the inside of a couch. My wife and I felt that should have been the least they could do but it didn't happen. The reason that we were given just didn't sit right with us. We were assured that they were being watched. Since then we have suspected that the damage done is not over with. We have had to keep a close eye on our Nandi & Nefi because Nandi's stool has not been the same since. We will have to get her x-rayed to rule out any of the "couch foam" they both (Nandi & Nefi) ingested at Pampered Pooches twice. We would have liked for the owner to Offer up some type of compensation, but that never happened. My wife and I had a spoke with the owners who we enjoyed getting to know and we hoped that there would be more done to correct what happened. Our fur babies are important to us, they're our fur children and when we send healthy dogs to any establishment we expect to get healthy dogs back in the same condition we brought them in. We have invested a lot into our fur babies so when their health is threatened we don't take that seriously. We are open to an additional conversation with the owners to give them the opportunity to make good on the unfortunate events that took place at their establishment. Business owners must be held accountable and do more to correct mistakes especially when they're repeated. read more

Finding the right person to take care of your beloved pet is not an easy thing to find. To think you are leaving them in the hands of someone who will not care for them the same way you do, is a scary thought. The first time I called Nicari, I could tell she not only really cared about dogs, but also about my needs and concerns as an owner. I was in a bind, leaving for the Philippines for 2 weeks, and even though she was booked, she made every effort to accommodate me and my 16 year old pooch. This was no ordinary request. Not only would I be out of the country for 2 weeks, but my senior dog needed extra attention around the clock. Since my dad was no longer around, there was really nobody else that I knew who was capable of giving him the type of care he needed. Needless to say, she and Maurice took great care of Payton, as if he were their own. They went on to take care of him several more times over the next few months. Their sincerity and genuine care for Payton would further prove itself, as Payton grew very sick in his old age, Nicari came to visit Payton and ask about him daily. Sadly Payton passed recently. I was crushed, but Nicari was right there to comfort me, and even delivered a bottle of wine that was custom made for Payton. At the end of the day, Pampered Pooches cared for my little Payton like their own family member and went above and beyond to care for him. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! In the 3 years I've had my white German Shepherd, Kona, I have never boarded him so you can understand my hesitation to leave him with complete strangers! Yelp's high reviews of CPP lead me here and I couldn't have been more happy! First of all, you have to do a meet and greet with the other dogs and also you get to see where you will be leaving your dog. CPP doesn't use kennels - so rest assured that your dog won't be locked up in a cage while you're gone! They have a big yard to run around in and get to hang out in their living room while in the house! They are even with your dog 24 hours a day!! With other boarding facilities, you have to pay extra to for them to walk your dog, at CPP, walks are included! With my white GSD, she even took him to a park to let him run around with her 3 Weimeraners! Best of all, she gives you picture updates through text message so you can see how well your pet is doing! Nicari was so amazing with Kona and had such a good bond with him that he even cried when we left! Nicari worked wonders with Kona and even got him to come out of his shyness shell! He had such a fun filled weekend that he passed out right when we got home! If I could rate this business with more stars, I would!! This is a new review on CPP's boarding... Went away for 4 days and as much as I dreaded leaving my Zoe, I had to but of course I felt comfortable knowing I can leave her at California Pampered Pooches for the weekend. We had a red eye so I was able to drop off Zoe in the evening. Zoe just got fixed so she was still on her medicine and they took great care of her. CPP just asked for me to write down her feeding times and do's and don'ts after her surgery and they were able to accommodate us. It was such a relieve knowing she would be in good hands and with other dogs her size. One of my favorites about CPP is they are kennel free. Although I do have a kennel for Zoe at home I love that she can run free in the huge backyard and get all the exercise she needs. Nicari and her team are amazing! My dog Apollo stayed with them when we went on a trip for four days to Chicago and I knew he was in good hands from the moment I met Nicari and her staff. They are so good to the dogs and you can tell she and her team are passionate about what they do. Apollo came back tired, happy, and clean from his stay and Nicari went above and beyond while we were gone to make me feel good about him being with her. Without asking she send me photos and updates on his stay which is so helpful when you are away from your pet. We love this place! This was the first time that I left my baby Callan for boarding for a whole week and it was the greatest move that we made. He loved this place! I loved it because he had a lot of doggy friends to run around and play with. He received lots of love, attention and effection. The owners were very sensitive to my leaving the poo for the first time. They sent pictures, video's and answered ALL of my many phone calls. This is definitely my boarding of choice for our toy poodle Callan. Lastly, to make things even better, they bathed him and droped him off at home for us. Took my husky puppy here today for his 1st time at a dog daycare and his first time around a lot of dogs and needless to say I was VERY nervous but I have to say the staff here was really excellent at slowly introducing him to the other dogs and helping me to feel comfortable. They sent me pics and videos throughout the day that were awesome. My dog didn't want to leave he was having so much fun. When he got home he was pooped and went right to sleep. I have to say Oliver, Andrew, Jordan and Emily went above and beyond and made me feel very comfortable that my doggie was in good hands. Nicari and California Pampered Pets came recommended by a friend who uses her frequently. I actually cried when leaving Whiskey with a stranger, and within an hour of leaving I was receiving text pictures and videos of how calm and relaxed my dog was at their facility. Since he's the only dog in our house, this is a great place where he can play with other dogs in a fun and supervised environment. The dogs have a HUGE yard where they can run around and play. I first discovered Pampered Pooches a few months after I moved to Vallejo from San Francisco, and was going on a trip out of the country and wanted to find a good reputable boarding place for her. Tilly positively ADORES Nicari, and Don, and probably all of the employees at Pampered Pooches and I feel incredible peace of mind whenever I drop Tilly off to be boarded, which hasn't been the case for me in the past. I had a somewhat negative experience with a boarding place in San Francisco, and so have been VERY picky and uber careful about picking a boarding place ever since. I think that CA Pampered Pooches has been the PERFECT fit for both Tilly and myself, I wouldn't think of leaving her elsewhere, and she is ALWAYS incredibly happy and fully content when I pick her up. In fact, we have another stay coming soon, and I KNOW she's looking forward to it! We had our first meeting with CPP and it was amazing, both Nacari and Maurice were a pleasure to meet and greet with all the dogs, this is the first time we are doing. I was very nervous and to my surprise all went great. We have set up an appointment for Saturday for a doggie daycare day for a day of playing so they can get to know each other. *****update we did the daycare on 2/11/12 we will do this again it was Amazing all three of my retrievers had an awesome time!
