While we were very satisfied with the quality of our custom patio cover and the installation process in 2021, we have since encountered several challenges with customer service and communication regarding warranty repairs. A couple of years after installation, water began leaking from one side of the drain area, staining the cement. After multiple attempts to contact the company, the issue was eventually addressed one month after my initial outreach. More recently, in summer 2025, one of the large side panels came loose. I contacted Justin immediately in mid-August and sent photos as requested, but despite being told it was a simple fix, I received no follow-up. I reached out several times via text, email, and phone, yet as of October 1st, I still have not received a timeline for scheduling the repairs. I would appreciate a clear timeline for repairs and more consistent updates regarding the status of my warranty claims. Implementing a dedicated customer service contact or an automated repair scheduling system could help prevent delays and improve communication. We truly enjoyed our initial experience and hope that future service aligns with the high standards set during installation. Leaving customers in limbo does not reflect well on your business, and I look forward to seeing improvements in these areas. read more

I reached out to California Patios to get a quote for installing a shade sail set up in our backyard. Granted not a high paying job for the company but still something they came out to look at helping with. It's been 3 weeks and no return to my calls or text messages and no quote was ever sent over. I get that I'm not buying an expensive pergola or gazebo but would appreciate a heads up. I have since reached out to other providers and am working with them on a quote. We are so pleased with our patio cover. Justin was fantastic to work with, start to finish. No pressure, full disclosure, informative, polite and friendly. He provided an estimate and engineered the design for our patio cover. His crew was very professional, and provided was with information regarding up keep. When we bought the patio covers they were great and Justin was very good to work with. Issue now is we started having a little issue with a noise of some kind when operating the screens and after NUMEROUS phone calls to Justin he finally got back to us. He did come out and said he didn't know what the issue was and would have to look into it. Since then one of the screens doesn't work at all. Again, numerous phone calls and Justin won't return the calls.... very disappointed that he won't even call back when he says he will. Be very careful in dealing with them. read more

Beware of over inflated bids, we had 3 other contractors give bids for existing patio enclosure, they gave bids from $4,800-$5500 their guy comes out and gives us a bid for the EXACT same work $15,000+ so what you are saying is you are looking to ripoff us for 10K what a joke and bottom line Thieves in my book. read more

Called these guys for an estimate on a deck rebuild. Very professional and friendly. Changed the time at least once but showed up and looked like he knew what he was doing e.g.: right equipment, nice vehicle, etc.. A week passed and still no estimate. This is frankly quite common with area contractors. A 20X20 ft. redwood deck should not be a real taxing problem for a legitimate contractor. Can't rely on this guy. read more

After having a bad experience with another patio company which after a month of broken promises and failing to return calls had backed out, I have Mike a call thinking there was no way we could get it done in a week. Concrete and patio cover. Mike stepped up and recommended Dee at KT concrete to first pour the patio. Again I was shocked when Dee met with me and had the patio poured within 2 days of calling him! Did an excellent job and although he had plenty of projects going, still found time to help me. Then 2 days later our patio cover was installed professionally. No surprises, it was done right! I can't express enough my gratitude to California Patio for getting this done so quickly for us. Mike and his staff really go the extra mile with service and quality. Very helpful, family, small town feel to his company. Not like those other "big name" places. And he uses the same materials as those other companies. A few months ago we had both a pergola (patio cover) and a retractable sunshade awning installed in our back yard around the pool area. This summer we spent more time outside in the shaded comfort of the combined patio covers than we had in all of the past 4 years of living here. The owners (Mike and Justin) are professional, prompt and very knowledgeable. Additionally, they double check things with the manufacturers to ensure that their installation is done properly. Their senior installation crew (Albert and Brad) are the guys you dream about showing up to do the work. Unfailingly polite, meticulous (Brad replanted our plants which they had no choice but to step on in order to put in the posts!) and without any wasted motion they worked like a dream team. They completely covered our pool so that no dust went in, and they cleaned up our patio better than they found it before they left! We had a little bit of trouble with the retractable awning due to the type of wall construction we had and after 1 phone call to them months after the installation, they called us back the same day and promptly came out to completely remedy the problem even better than new!
