Now it turns out the gutters they installed were 7 1/2 inches. The standard gutter is between four and 6 inches. The gutters were installed without a facia board. They were screwed directly into the roof beams. Because the gutters were not installed with the facia board, Water got in between this very large heavy gutter and the roof beams and rotted it. It also appears as there are not enough downspouts. Now I'm having to pay for a whole new gutter system for the entire house. They sent me a picture of some debris in the lowest part of the gutter after it fell off the building. It didn't appear to me as there was very much debris in the gutter, but this is the excuse they're using as to why the gutter fell off, and why they are not responsible. They installed the gutters with no gutter guard so they knew that some debris would get into the gutter. They sent me one photo showing the lowest part of the gutter after everything shifted into it during the fall. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. I can't imagine a gutter company installing a great big huge heavy gutter onto a building with no facia board to secure it onto the building, and not enough downspouts.. The Property Management company had given the instructions to have the new gutter system look like the old. What she said was taking out of context because she certainly wouldn't have told them to do the work if she had known it needed a facia board more downspouts and there was no reason for the expensive oversized Heavy Gutters. I wonder if they had put on the proper size gutter if the savings could have paid for the facia board and additionally needed downspouts?

Buzz Doughty and his crew just completed installing a new roof on our home and we are extremely pleased with the results. I watched Doughty Roofing replace the roof on the house across the street and was impressed by the crew's efficiency and work. I met Buzz when they were cleaning up on the job across the street; I asked him if he could look at my place and give me an estimate. He took a great deal of time to explained his estimate procedure. Buzz said it was a two-day job and responded quickly, answering questions right away, and came back with a good bid that same day. The work was completed between the recent storms in one day plus a couple of hours the next. Service started very quickly after signing the contract and was finished ahead of schedule and they did a great job. I'm very pleased with their work ethic and overall value for money spent. We made an appt for the very next week (9/4/15), David and his assistant showed up to our home on time and ready to go. We have a set of gutters along the side of the house that is on a zero-lot line. They couldn't go onto our neighbor's property to clean them out but they were able to accommodate us by cleaning those gutters by scooping the debris out by hand! Those particular gutter were pretty full so we understand how much work that was for them! They recommended crowns be installed in the downspouts which will really help keep leaves and sticky balls, of the tree next door, out of our gutters. They also recommended a few things they could do for a problem "waterfall" gutter we have near the front door which we truly appreciated as well. They were prompt, friendly, great communication & took less than an hour (we have a 1250 sq ft house, single story with gutters on all 4 sides) Very reasonable pricing & they also cleaned up from the mess the gutter cleaning left behind. We plan on having our gutters maintained annually from now on and will definitely be calling Nor Cal Maintenance again next fall!

If you hire them, get a signed contract with clear scope, verify the invoice matches actual work performed, and confirm what documentation you'll receive during the work. I'd take the time to get multiple estimates and research other options before committing.

The same goes for most successful businesses, do it right and take nothing for granted. In this case it's the gutters on your roof that keep rain from going places where it's not supposed to go. If your roof isn't keeping things dry and without a doubt on your part, save yourself a lot of trouble and have Superior install seamless gutters and guards. In 2013 I decided it was time for a new roof on my house. I also decided it was time to quit risking my life every year cleaning out my old gutters. I had installed some DIY gutter guards on the old roof, the kind that work for maybe a year, then collapse like mine did. The guy I chose to install the roof recommended Superior Seamless for the gutters, which is how I met Cory when he prepared an estimate.
