I was referred by Superior Seamless Gutters to use Norcal for an estimate for my gutter replacement and some issues with my roof (moss). NorCal Dave made appt with me and had to cancel because he will ill on our first scheduled appointment; which is understandable. We rescheduled and then the evening before appointment he asked to cancel because he needed a haircut and his appointment was at 9AM and wanted to come later. I could not believe NorCal Dave would evening ask to change appointment for his haircut...WOW! Obviously, NorCal Dave did not want the job. Maybe when he looked that it was in Roseland he felt was not worth it or does not like the Roseland area. Just a story I told myself in my true disappointment with the unprofessional way this situation was treated. Update to the window and dry rot repairs that were previously done, Dave gave us a fair estimate to prime and top coat the wood trim that they repaired, two workers came out to perform the work on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately it was just as the Healdsberg fires were flaring up, the work was going along well when one of the painters got a call from his family that they had gotten the word to evacuate there home. Neither of these gentlemen would leave the job before it was completed, they both stayed until everything was done and done very well. In my book that's going above and beyond. Nor-Cal did a fine job. I set up an appointment a couple months back to have my gutters cleaned. They showed up a bit early, but that wouldn't have mattered much since they said I didn't need to be home for it. This guy came to our house. The agreed on rate was $300 to remove the moss from our roof & gutters. Ok, it's high but fine, the guy is American, fine we try to hire American workers. The work was for removal of moss on our roof. The guy finishes, tries to hard sell us this gutter thing for the gutters. Nope. VERY HARD SELL OF THIS GUTTER THING. Don't want it. So he does the "work". He wants the check. Fine. Husband comes in and says, he wants another $225 for the mossicide. What? We told him we wanted that on the phone & before he started the work! This was NOT the agreement. Fine. We pay it, we're pissed. I'm writing this review, and I'm keeping a copy of this review since I'll be posting it elsewhere on the internet in case Yelp removes it. BTW, this guy advertises on CRAIGSLIST in the Bay Area. BUYER BEWARE, BUYER BEWARE!!! Upshot is we paid $525 for this guy to clean our gutters on the roof & add mossicide that is it. FURTHERMORE, he did not clean one side of the roof gutter, it still had MOSS IN IT! My husband had to do it himself. I am SAVING THIS REVIEW for future references. EDIT: No David, you never contacted us after we paid you. I'm sorry that my review upsets you but it is the truth. You are a nice charming friendly person, but charging us something other than what was agreed upon, plus the hard sell, plus the moss is still on the house is not conducive to good business practices. With El Nino supposedly coming this winter, we needed to have our gutters looked at. We called Nor Cal Maintenance to come out and take a look at thew. We made an appt for the very next week (9/4/15), David and his assistant showed up to our home on time and ready to go. We have a set of gutters along the side of the house that is on a zero-lot line. They couldn't go onto our neighbor's property to clean them out but they were able to accommodate us by cleaning those gutters by scooping the debris out by hand! Those particular gutter were pretty full so we understand how much work that was for them! They recommended crowns be installed in the downspouts which will really help keep leaves and sticky balls, of the tree next door, out of our gutters. They also recommended a few things they could do for a problem "waterfall" gutter we have near the front door which we truly appreciated as well. They were prompt, friendly, great communication & took less than an hour (we have a 1250 sq ft house, single story with gutters on all 4 sides) Very reasonable pricing & they also cleaned up from the mess the gutter cleaning left behind. We plan on having our gutters maintained annually from now on and will definitely be calling Nor Cal Maintenance again next fall! read more

I found David thoroughly professional. He's a good communicator and was on time and worked very efficiently. He was able to explain in fine detail everything I'd ever want to know about rain gutters, gutter covers, what's likely to happen to a rusted gutter under certain conditions, etc. He was upfront about his estimate and he and his small crew (one very agile young man) were about as professional as I could've hoped for. We had a second story with steep rooftops, which scared me: what if someone slips and falls? But no one did. And Dave's bonded and has his contractor's license. He knows his stuff. Contrary to the bad review I see here, there was absolutely no "hard-sell" on anything else, although he did explain there are rain gutter covers that are better than the ones we have, and he could install them if we wanted him to. I have to say that all went very well -- the two workers were timely, extremely nice, quick, and clean with the work.They even helped out with a task involving a tall ladder that I couldn't do myself.
