This was my first time using California Spa Service after the manufacturer of my 10 year old spa (MasterSpa) recommended them. They're in Danville and I'm 30 minutes away, but their range of service areas is wide. The whole experience was great, from booking my service call with Angela, to text communications keeping me updated, and finally the work my spa tech Alan performed. I must have asked 20 questions of Alan because I typically maintain it myself, though I'm new to that responsibility. He was very patient with me, answered everything, and he also provided tips on the refill to make sure that I did it in a way to prevent any air gaps with the pump. It's up and running and that's a success! It's rare to find great customer service these days, and California Spa Services is providing just that! read more

I worked with the team to get a new cover and a lifter for my spa. Everything was great, and very professional. I'd work with them again.

Ordered spa cover. 6 weeks later told it was damaged while loading. 2weeks later technician arrives-doesn't knock or tell us he's in backyard. He breaks the lifter that is in place. In less than an hour I get an estimate for lifter replacement for over $1000!!!!! I send photos. Part gets ordered and 10days later tech comes and replaces and again, never lets us know he is here. I call to see if he's coming-they tell me the job is done! All around poor quality experience on every level. Really unreliable business read more

I have CA Spa Service come out and service my spa every year. They do a great job. This year I was having a residue all around the spa that they emptied cleaned blew out the jets but it returned right away. I called took them a sample, couldn't quite figure it out. Paul the owner came out and realized it was the gaskets were disintegrating. They redid the service with no charge. Angela, Dustin and Paul went out of their way to make it right. I called this company based on the recommendation posted by Nextdoor, but I had bad experienced. Our hot tub kept tripping GFCI, their diagnostic was the heater sensor. They replaced and yet was still tripping the GFCI. The technician called their company and he was instructed to reset something and this technician kept unplugging and messing around with the panel. The hot tub worked while fe was still there but when he left the GFCI tripped again. The charge on this visit was $512. On the second visit the technician messed around on the panel again after a few minutes his diagnostic came back that we needed a new pump, which will amount to $2000+. I wasn't satisfied with that diagnostic, so I called Paradise Valley Spa (Sundance), where we bought this spa. The screen was inoperable because it was locked. And the fuse box holder for the screen was loose. They didn't see any problem with the pump. Fixed the loose fuse box and unlocked the screen panel and updated the date, time and whatever is needed to run the spa. Thanks to Paradise valley Spa and to Justin. No extra charge, just the normal diagnostic visit. read more

Do not use this company out of concord. So far I would not trust this company to do any of my services in the future. I needed a warranty issue fixed with the leaking lights and they want to charge me $185 service fee. I also scheduled a $350 clean and sanitize for my hot tub and they did a horrible job. It looks like they filled it up with water and put chemicals in it. Still waiting on them to make it right! * Update: Paul the general manager gave me a call. He was much nicer to deal with and willing to make it right for the trouble I had been through. They came back out and cleaned the tub more and took away the service charge. If you use this company I would deal directly with Paul. *Paul reached out a second time to follow up to make sure everything was well and to send some extra parts that we may need later. I hired Cal Spa to fix an older hot tub which included installing new equipment. They began work August 2023. After install, they did not test to confirm whether the system works. I was told to wait several days to try to use the system. After 3 days passed, I attempted to use the spa and found that it was not working and notified Cal Spa. The system does not currently work, more than a year after initial evaluation. I have been charged nearly $5,000. Most recently, I was charged, without approval of running my card, another $200. In short, the company installed a faulty system, charged close to $5,000 for the labor and equipment, and have claimed two times, incorrectly, that the hot tub runs to justify the charges. They did not test the system before leaving and charging me and are continuing to charge for work to fix their errors. I would recommend steering clear of this company. read more

Was asked to send photos of parts and would receive and email with estimate. After multiple calls and text messages for follow up on 4/2 call, I never got an estimate. Poor customer service. I would under no circumstances recommend this company. My spa was leaking and I hired Cal Spa to fix the problem. A service man came out the said the problem was caused by a leaking hose issue. A repair was made and was advised that the problem was fixed. Soon after I noticed that the spa was still leaking. After several missed appointments, they finally came out and advised me that there were two jets that needed replacing. I was charged an additional inspection fee, service appointment and the cost of parts. The spa still continued to leak. Another service man came out and said that there was another jet that needed replacing. The repair was made and without my written or verbal approval, my credit card was charged for the repairs. My spa was not heating. The tech came out for $165 to diagnose it in about 20 minutes. Needed a new circuit board. I got the bid and it was for over $1145 on top of the $165 already spent. I called another service (Paradise Valley Spas) and they came out for $95, diagnosed it as the same thing, had the part in their truck, fixed it, and the total came out to under $700. He was at my house for less than an hour. They included the call out, so the $700 was my total out of pocket. Total out of pocket with California Spa Service would have been over $1300. They might know what they're doing, but they are way too expensive! read more

I have been dealing with Cal Spa Service for about a year and a half now. One of my LED lights went bad in my hot tub and was still under warranty so I reached out to them to have them try and repair it. Apparently, it is not easy at all to swap out a light in a hot tub as I had initially thought. Long story short, they could not fix the light and actually after attempting it the plastic light seal in the hot tub popped off when they attempted to fix it which caused a leak. They sealed it with silicone but after 6 months it started leaking again due to it fading. I called them up again to see about a more permanent fix so this doesn't happen again, and Isaiah (office manager) said that epoxy would be that fix. I drained the tub myself so I arranged simply for them to come out and clean the tub and seal the light. Isaiah quoted me $165 for the first half hour and additional charges if it goes longer. I thought perfect. They came out and got it done in a half hour, pretty straightforward. I check my credit card and they charged me $247. Called and spoke to Isaiah and he said "Oh well I sent two guys out instead of one, so that is why there was an additional charge." Nowhere in our conversation was that mentioned ever. Isaiah then proceeds to tell me that every time I call there is an issue, and that "I don't really provide them any business." Mind you, I have used them for several services including the warranty covered ones. Highly unprofessional from Isaiah and just terrible customer service. *UPDATE* - Paul (the owner) reached out to me directly, apologized and honored the original price. I would highly recommend dealing with him when possible, as you can tell he is truly dedicated to doing right by his customers. read more
