Been seeing Dr. Arimie for a little over ten years now and he is Godsend. I have been to a couple of GI docs and let's just say, thankfully I found my forever GI specialist. In my experience, he listens, he takes time, he examines, he reviews, and he is thorough. I don't mind the wait because I know when it is my turn, I am receiving his full undivided attention and utmost care. I follow his regimen which helped me tremendously but he is open to ideas. For follow ups, he is accessible too. Thank you doc for taking care of me always. And oh.. back office staff has been excellent as well and front office customer service has significantly improved since about a year ago. read more

I was referred to Dr. Arimie by my internist. Dr. Arimie blamed my C-Diff on my diet and told me to eat Bulgarian yogurt. I've had c-diff before and nearly died in a two week coma so his response was disconcerting. We scheduled a colonoscopy. I arrived at the proper time and then waited in pre-op for 4.5 hours in excruciating back and neck pain along with diarrhea! I tried to leave twice but nurses kept calming me down by telling me I was the next patient all the while taking other people in before me that had arrived after me. When they finally got to me I was the last patient of the day! I complained to the doctor and pretty much everyone in the room about how wrong it was to leave a patient for 4.5 hours and having the staff repeatedly lie to me about being next. Dr. Arimie never said a word, no apology or excuse for his epic lateness. When I woke up, he told me to eat Bulgarian yogurt! I was not given a reason or diagnosis for having bloody diarrhea for months. It's been daily for over 3 months now and I will never go back to him again! Avoid this guy! L.P. read more

I saw Dr. Arimie again this past year, as it had been 4 years or so since my previous visit. I am still not at the age yet where I would start the colonoscopy process but I've had GI issues off and on since my 20s. Anyhow, this appointment was about like my previous ones - I waited forever (more than 1 hour this last time) for the doctor. In all fairness, one of his staff did come in and ask me if I wanted to reschedule or schedule a video conference appointment instead because he was at the hospital and they were not sure when he would return. I declined, stating that it had already taken enough effort to schedule this appointment weeks ago and I would not have time again for another few weeks myself. Anyhow, so he finally comes in, and does what he always did in the past - type on the laptop and ask a few questions, mumble a few comments, answer a call from somebody on his cel phone, texting, more typing on laptop, and then at the end he did do a physical exam of me - worth the high insurance co-pay just for that I guess. He said, "well, we could ask your insurance company if they will pay for a colonoscopy if you want, it's up to you." I said I'd think about it, but as I did have a Cologuard test last year thru my PCP, which came back negative, I decided it probably wasn't worth it. I had actually asked Arimie for the Cologuard test in the past but apparently he does not use them, he only uses colonoscopy. Anyhow, I think I will be going to someone else from now on. There is no question that Arimie knows GI medicine very well but I don't think he is good for younger people or unless you have some really serious problems. He just seems like he is overly busy with his more pressing patients. So, maybe he should just work with those people. My PCP recommended him so I took that recommendation. If you go to him, just be ready for a different sort of medical office experience that you may not like. Communication is definitely not his strong suit. He does not make much eye contact and does not say much. Most of the time, it seems like he's tuning you out when you ask questions. As a point of reference, my orthopedic doctor who has done surgery on me and treated me for broken bones, is always very direct. He would never dream of using a cel phone in an appointment. I've actually heard him ask other patients if they have questions! I have seen him probably 20 times and never once was he late for an appointment. Like Arimie, he works in the West Hills Hospital too. Anyhow, nobody's perfect. But if there are more cons than pros, you do have to think about alternatives when it comes to health care providers. read more

I don't have the right words to say yet about this "doctor" but I felt the need to put a review up here to warn other patients who might be referred to him by their insurance. My mother presented to him with a large amount of abdominal and pelvic bloating, distention, and discomfort. He initially only wanted to see her via telehealth, but relented when she begged his office staff. He saw her in person, and put her on a two week long lactose free diet with other restrictions to test for food sensitivity. He told her that she had developed an allergy to lactose. The bloating and tightness in her belly was like that of a woman in her six month of pregnancy. Her belly was hard and made her walking difficult, and even to an untrained eye, looked extremely concerning. While on Dr Arimie's "cleanse", my mother begged for additional scans from her primary physician. These revealed a 31 cm mass which required an immediate 4 hour long surgery for removal, and an arduous wait on pathology for potential malignancy. Had my mom listened to Arimie, she would still be on a diet cleanse for lactose. The mass could have popped inside of her. The fluid that it was leaking out would have continued to poison her body. Our mind is boggled at his apathy. To top it off, while she is still in the hospital recovering, his staff continues to call to confirm a "telehealth" appointment with Arimie who wants to check on how the diet worked out for her. read more

What a horrible experience. From the unfriendly woman who appeared to be managing the office to the complete lack of compassion from the doctor himself. Dr. Arimie came highly recommended so I was very confused. Again, unfriendly front office but my nurse was friendly. Long wait without an apology. Dr. Arimie didn't really seem to be listening to me and at a certain point, checked out. He offered to treat me but his lack of enthusiasm was evident. We agreed we had differing opinions and I left. Beware Beware Beware!! What I thought was a great experience coming into this office to see Dr Arimie has turned into an unfortunate experience. My initial consult went smooth, dr was knowledgeable provided the appropriate testing gave me a great regiment. I even made a google review on how great he was. This review is for the person in charge of billing. I am sooo glad I have multiple credit cards and are able to keep track of where and how I use each and every single one of them. I found it very strange that I called this office not once or twice BUT 6 TIMES to pay a $10 bill. (instead of 25 they had initially charged me 15 for co pay) and never answered when I tried calling, I even thought someone might of tested positive for covid and had shut their offices. I left 3 voicemails and still no call back. Afraid I will go to collections I figured it be safe to pay the $10 online. (BIG MISTAKE) their online payment method asks for the cvv # in back of your card (THIS HAS BEEN THE ONLY PLACE IVE MADE A PAYMENT USING MY CVV ON THIS PARTICULAR CARD) and they have stolen my identity! Is either billing, or their online services they are using in this office is not secured and are committing theft. What I thought was even more strange, was that the receptionist literally called me the day after I made the online payment!! Kind of suspect? I would say so!! I was waiting for my deductible to accumulate to have my procedures done at the end of the year and now I will never come back here again! read more

I am so grateful to have met Dr Arimie. He has been treating my 94 year young mother for the past 4 years. He is a very caring, compassionate and intelligent Physician. He patiently listens to all our concerns and symptom and then come up with a treatment plan. He is always there to help our family members with the 100 questions that we have. He is the best Gastroenterologist at West hills hospital and I see that he is willing to spend the time to talk to each patients and many that I spoke with are very happy with him. He is the only Doctor that our family trust to work on my mothers complex health issues. Dr Arimie cares for mother's health like she is his own mother. My mother would not be alive without his care. Tried to make an appointment called around 11am, receptionist ask everything but refused to give any appointments was rude and had attitude, said she will call me back once she checked the schedule...never called back, I called next day - provided same information - finally got ahead of this person around 3 pm. Dr Arimie's willingness to go above and beyond to ensure that I completely understood the causes of my symptoms and the lifestyle changes I needed to make to correct those symptoms, was a welcomed change from my visits to Kaiser (where doctors are on tight schedules and generally have about 10 to 15 minutes to see you). For my first visit, Dr Arimie saw me for 45 minutes, allowing me to ask all the questions I wanted. Feeling fantastic and relieved! Dr Arimie did what my first doctor wouldn't do. I am soooo glad I got a second opinion. He talked to me with care and concern. Told me what he could do how he would do it and did it. I underwent a "technically difficult and complex"procedure and was sparred surgery and a three day hospital stay. Most helpful was my feeling of ease and comfort with Dr. Arimie. He came to me highly recommended and lived up to that recommendation. DO NOT GO TO THIS GASTROENTEROLOGIST. My dad had him 6 years ago for a colonoscopy and endoscopy and discovered he had H. Pylori. This bacteria is a risk factor for DEVELOPING STOMACH CANCER. After prescribing him antibiotics, he NEVER FOLLOWED UP with my dad to check his how his condition was doing. Additionally, he was ON THE PHONE ON A PERSONAL CALL IGNORING MY DAD while my dad was presenting him with his signs and symptoms. He is NOT a professional, and my dad had a hunch that the doctor is racist. My father recently had a colonoscopy and it was discovered that the H. Pylori was still in his system. This could have been AVOIDED if this so called "5 star doctor" had followed up with him and his condition. If any other health care professional did what this doctor did, they would be fired on the spot and may have their license in jeopardy for ignoring the needs of a patient and putting personal matters above a patient while working in the work place. If I could, I would have this doctor placed under investigation. A doctor should be caring and following up with ALL of their patients, not just some! read more
