Yummy service and a shout out to Conner, a kind, warm and friendly soul who was/is an exceptional greeter and server. Food was hot and tasty. Had a breakfast bowl - all the goodies - egg, avocado, spinach, feta on grits. It was a new and unique breakfast. Coffee was strong like I liked it. Reasonable prices. One critique is the room temperature was way too cold! Another customer ordered a cup of hot water and placed it between her legs to warm up!!! read more

The service here was amazing! and the sweet tea is absolutely to die for!! I live in california and can't get real authentic sweet tea like this here so it was truly a treat. We were passing through Starke and needed a late morning food stop. we were very pleased to find Call St Cafe. The staff is so friendly, we were warmly greeted, promptly served and checked on frequently to see if we needed anything. Breakfast was plentiful, everything made fresh including sausages. When I travel, if I have time, I really like to visit local restaurants, both to get a taste of local flavor and also support independent businesses. So when I went to Call Street I really wanted to love this restaurant, I really did. And to be honest, if quarter stars were allowed it would be a 3.25 to 3.5, but they aren't so 3.0 it is. To be fair, the food is fresh and good. I opted for the chicken salad with croissant, with a a side of fruit. The croissant was undercooked and had a doughy flavor to it, which was less than optimal, but the chicken salad was amazing and fresh and delicious. The fruit was fresh, and flavorful but I could have done with a personal peeve of mine, seeds in the cantaloupe and honeydew. Come on, it is not hard to serve it without seeds, so someone was rushed. To be fair, service was extremely pleasant and friendly - like down home, come to church and join us for Sunday dinner friendly. You will immediately feel at home, when you are finally greeted. For me, that was about 10 minutes after I sat down and then only because I got up and greeted a waitress. My food took another 25-30 minutes, so I was there for 35-45 minutes before I got my lunch. That is just not optimal and the restaurant needs to work through that issue. Drinks are served in cool mason jars which simply screams southern hospitality. read more

I went back in May for breakfast to try something new and was happy I did. The server was awesome, they were following social distancing and wearing masks. I ordered the Corn Beef Bowl and it was great. Corn beef served with home fries, grilled onions topped with two eggs, you can't go wrong. Enjoyed checking out a new spot, I will be back. read more

Great cafe in the heart of downtown Starke, Florida. It's a relaxed vibe with great farm to table offerings prepared fresh and with a local flare. I had the 511 burger and it was fantastic. I don't know if I've ever seen a tomato as red. Everything was delicious. The salad was fresh and clean. Came here after wife and son finished church on Sunday as it was our son's birthday. Arrived a little after one in the afternoon expecting a wait for the Sunday crowd, but nearly nobody there. Waited longer than expected to be seated, as there was nobody to seat us. Finally got to sit down, and service improved drastically from there. Tallie took great care of us, put my son's cake in the fridge while we ate, brought out small plates at the end of the meal for the cake and applied military discount to our bill. Food was hot and fresh once it finally showed up, and we all dug right in so fast I didn't have time to take pics. The sandwiches were all great, but I'm still on the fence on the potato salad. Never had their style before, and the flavor was good but the cucumbers had me taken aback a bit. All the good was good, but Tallies service put the experience over the top. First, this place is aesthetically pleasing from the street. Very big city cafe in a small town. I was immediately greeted. Mind you I arrived 5 minutes after they opened for breakfast. The young lady helped me choose some great healthy menu options as I was headed to Spartan Race in Jacksonville. I discussed the race with the young lady. My food was hot & tasted amazing! I ordered a western omelette with fruit & wheat toast. I was even given a bottled water to Make sure I stayed hydrated while at Spartan Race. Call Street Cafe has got themselves a new customer. I worked a lot in Miami in previous years. The customer service would be half of what it is at Call Street Cafe & the food would cost twice as much. I went on 2/24/19 at 7am. What a hidden gem!!! I picked this place for breakfast merely due to the convenient location amongst my commute. These folks can cook!!! The biscuits were as moist as could be, the veggie omelet was full of flavor, and they even have turkey bacon which not many places do. I think the onions were pickled (which I love) the flavor of the food was delicious, the quality was very high. I honestly with the best for this establishment l, the waitstaff was so cordial and everyone seemed happy. The inside of the cafe was beautiful. If your near by I'd say stop in! We stopped here on our way to Tampa. It had many good reviews and they were right It's a cute place with good food, drinks and really great service. Super sweet lunch spot! We waited a few minutes because there were less tables and they were spread out because of Covid. The food was delicious and the portions were perfect! Excellent place, welcoming and inviting, we were in a rush on our way up north and the place was packed, they took the time to seat us and put our food order to the front of the kitchen. We are also very African-American, and by that I mean midnight black, it is a source of family pride. This is an adorable restaurant with delicious, affordable food and excellent service. I wish this place was in Tampa so I could come here every week. We arrived on Sunday around noon and grabbed the last available table. It looked like everything flowed well - tables were full, but parties would get up regularly so anybody waiting didn't have to do so for long. I ordered the Green Monster - avocado, eggs, spinach, onion, and mushrooms over potatoes. It was perfect - hot and delicious! I wish I could have some right now. My boyfriend ordered the Classic Breakfast and a half order of the Biscuits & Gravy. We were both very pleased with our meals. Our server was friendly and had a smile on her face the whole time. It definitely seemed as if she was happy to be there, which is quite refreshing. The only negative I can say, which isn't enough for me to deduct a star, is that the strawberry muffin didn't taste like anything. I even shared it with my boyfriend and he thought the same thing. This place is a hidden treasure! We were driving through the area and stumbled on this cafe. From the outside and the minimal decor we were a little apprehensive at first. But upon entering that all changed. The staff was really sweet. The menu's variety, creativity, and FRESH choices is fantastic! My husband got the Cuban with a side salad. The bread was so fresh and the meat was tasty. The homemade pickles were a nice touch. He also got a side salad with homemade blue cheese dressing. All very light and fresh. I got the turkey cranberry sandwich and WOW was it delicious! That cranberry mayo paired perfectly with the smoked Gouda and roasted turkey. And the potato salad?! Aside from my Aunt Tami's .... it's THE BEST I've ever had. We are fasting from soda so we didn't get any but they also had a great selection of handcrafted natural sodas. We were looking for a lunch spot after Mass today and found Call Street Cafe. What a wonderful spot in Starke! My husband had a toasted wrap and I had the Cuban panini. We both had potato salad for a side. The panini was more like a BBQ sandwich than a Cuban; but, it was delicious. The potato salad tasted homemade. The tea (half sweet half unsweet) was brewed and very tasty. We will definitely be back here. I want to try breakfast next time. read more
