It is now 10 years that I have been with this company. They have done their job and made repairs in a most timely manner. I conduct business with Sue who is kind, friendly, and a "get it done right" kind of a person. They take care of the RPZ testing that has to be done annually and send the forms to the appropriate people. I was surprised to see the negative reviews!?! I have used Call the Underground on and off (depending on if I wanted my sprinklers operational that year) for the last 4-5 seasons. Scheduling has never been a problem. They are patient the couple times I failed to call them back or submit paperwork in time. My favorite part, though, are the crews. They are extremely friendly and will do anything you ask of them. They rerouted my system for hardscape and returned the ground to like-new condition when I would have easily accepted a little mess. read more

NOTE: This is a review of customer service only! I called to schedule service for backflow testing. I called three times and left a message. When I received a call back later in the day the woman that I spoke with said my backflow testing was complete and results sent in to city already. She was ready to let me go when I asked her how this was done when I had not called them, she argued that someone had. After some back and forth she realized she wasn't even looking at the correct information. I said to her why she would be so quick to tell someone they were in compliance with regulations when they weren't and could face fees. She hung up on me. I am willing to give this company the benefit of the doubt that their actual service is good, however the customer service on the phone was pretty ridiculous. I wish I saw these reviews before calling this company. Worst customer service EVER. No one EVER answers the phone, goes straight to voicemail, and they don't call back. It's as if they don't want any business. It took them two months to send an estimate. Got a hold of a manager once after dozens of calls and messages. Missed her call one morning, when I called her back within 5 minutes, got the standard voicemail. Called 12 more times over the next 8 hours, left 3 messages, and they never responded. We have been customers for 29 years, they installed our system when we built our home. Beginning of April I booked an appointment for end of April for a $1200. repair job, few days before they canceled it. Rebooked for today, they called at 1pm yesterday to again cancel my appt because "they don't have enough staff". They have NO consideration for our time and lost wages every time they cancel. Today, which is a Saturday, we called (for a 2nd time in the past month) and our call was answered. The lovely lady that we spoke with both times stated that they are under new management. I've been a customer since 2004. EVERY time I've called the office to pay my contract and set up appointments the staff has been professional, friendly and efficient. The employees that maintain the irrigation system show up on time EVERY time (I've had at least 45 appointments with them). They don't give a window of time. They come at exactly the time they've scheduled with me. So no waiting around for them. So efficient! I have not shopped around so I can't speak for their pricing. read more

Had to replace a number of heads due to city construction and some tubing. Got a quote on Monday, came out on Wednesday, and completed the work in half the time and did an excellent job. This company is trying to go out of business it seems. Until this year, they would call to schedule our appointment. This year, nothing, even though we prepaid the year. When we contacted them to hook our sprinklers up for the season, they showed up at the wrong time and blamed us for not being home. Furthermore, they got really snotty when we suggested they were wrong with the time. Several months ago I had a billing question. I called for 3 days without a call back. I then posted a negative review on Yelp, Someone from office called me and said that since my account was current they didn't see a reason to return my calls. They assured me future calls would be returned promptly. This year I was sent a contract renewal by The Underground. Thinking that the issue was settled, I renewed on 3/7/15, and paid for the season, which included turn on Spring, mid summer check and turn off Fall. This week I repeatedly called over several days to explain that my house is sold and wanting to transfer service to new owner. My calls were never returned, so this morning I drove to the office. As soon as Introduced myself the office manager asked me to leave or she would call the police. When I asked the reason, her answer was "you posted a negative review on Yelp". She refused to talk to me. When I see the numerous similar Yelp reviews with same complaints by other customers before and after my original post, this is how they interact with clients...by not interacting. I have used Call the Underground since 2011. Never had one problem with reaching anyone or receiving a call back. They installed the system and maintain it. Their prices are reasonable as well. For 2 seasons i used oasis after i moved to Geneva. Last season 2014 had system set up and a few repairs, then winterized in the fall. Never recieved a bill. I never thought about it till i recieved a notice from oasis that they put a lien on my house for amount due. I immediately called and had to deal with a very rude customer service/receptionist. Having never recieved a bill i wanted to know why the lien. She said multiple invoices were mailed, including certified letters. I asked what address was used as i never recieved a bill and certainly no certified letters. Was told it was to my Ohio address on file. I explained that was my old address not current and asked why it it being used. For the previous 2 years all mail, invoices from oasis came to my Geneva addess. Obviously something changed on their end that caused the problem but they wouldnt admit it. Her position was arrogant and rude, saying i just should have paid my bill. And there was nothing should could do. I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager and was told no. Again rudely told to pay my bill. I asked if i could be sent a copy of the bill since it was sent to the wrong address and i had not seen it. I again was told no, that oasis had done all it was required to. Obviously i got nowhere with her, and recieved no help from accounts recievable who i talked with the next day. Again was told no when i requested to talk with management to help resolve this. So i have a lien on my house for bill i have yet to recieve from a company who wont admit they made a mistake and wont work with me to help resolve it. Lastly, they had my phone number on file, but didnt bother to call before putting a lien on my house. HOW IS THAT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! So anyone who reads this, find another service provider for your irrigation needs. Oasis is not a company you want to do business with. read more

I would not give these people any stars but I am forced to give then 1 so I will. I will tell you why I have had them as my service company for many years. Prior to them merging with Oasis their CS was tolerable. Since they have merged they no longer no the meaning of Costumer Service [CS] they are arrogant and must always be right even when they are proven wrong. They have gone as far as telling me they cannot lie because the person was a former NUN. If she did not live up to her vows then she can certainly lie as she did to me. We finally resolved the dispute by them coming out and servicing my system at NO CHARGE to me. They have always come out and taken care of my system so I never worried about it until this year. Now I have a burst water pipe and my system is still not winterized. I have been calling and leaving messages for 2 days by phone and by email NO RESPONSE nothing unusual for this company. My final recourse will be to have the pipes repaired and file a suit against this company for the damages that they have caused me. I would suggest anyone who is thinking of doing business with them to read all the reviews and think 2 or 3 times before they consider hiring them to do any work for you. Last of all only 1/2 of their technician know what they are doing so you better get the right one or you are still up the creek, and have to go through the aggravation of trying to schedule a 2nd call. read more

I am writing this review so hopefully someone from this company will call me back! Because I have tried to call them for nearly a year. Only voice mails, never a call return. Seriously??? How dare they b in business!??? This is a scary company! They send certified mails to my tenant under my name multiple times. I called them back each time since March this year. I even save their number on my phone to call them at different times of the day to find out what is the problem. Never returned my phone calls. I thought it was a scam. And almost forgot about it. Now we are about to refinance our loan...and we found out through the title company, Mike Vlcek, the president of this company, field a lien against my property. We "inherited" this company from the previous owners of our house. We figured "they know the system" so it should be a good fit. The service techs were great - no issues there. They were prompt, took plenty of time to answer all my questions about our new system - thorough inspection of the equipment - adjusted each head. No complaints about the men who came to the house. Never got a bill. Called in to ask for an invoice. No answer, left messages. Left more messages. Never called back. Finally talked to someone after a few months. They said they emailed us the invoice. We explained that we are new owners of the property, we asked what email address they had on file. Was not ours, and it sounded like it might be the previous owners! Gave them new email address - never got an invoice. More months go by. More messages. At this point we are begging to pay this company! It's now February (for service rendered the previous Spring) we get a certified letter with threat of lien against the property if we don't pay immediately. On the paper invoice, in the certified letter, the OLD owners email address! We sent the payment check certified mail, verified it was cashed, and have gladly moved on. Call the Underground takes a day or more to return calls. If you miss the phone call the next day you have to call back and wait another day for a returned call. A person NEVER answers the phone. If you need an estimate, you have to wait until the weekend when the owner writes the estimate. You then have to wait several days for them to email you the estimate. Then you have to sign the estimate and wait for them to receive the signed estimate and call back. If you miss that call . . . Get the point! read more

I've found their labor rate to be competitive with others in the area (like +/-$5.00). I'm a person that appreciates yearly reminders for turn on/shutoff. Oasis Irrigation is very unehical business. 1) They do not provide exact estimates. 2) They do not stick to there estiamtes. 3) They do not complete the job and when they come back they charge again. 4) A two man crew billed us over 1000 dollars for fixing very simple things. The crew did not work more than two hours. 5) When they come in and do the work they do not provide any paperwork that ndicates what work they have done, how long they have done it, etc. If you have other choices do not use this compan. read more

I used Call the Underground to install my irrigatyion system. Not perfect but they were worth the price paid. The service recieved since then (turn on / shut off and RPZ testing) since then has been a chore. Previous reviewer comments on difficulty getting them to answer the phone and return voicemeoil messages are spot on. They seem to not want your business. i have called countless times and they dont return messages. Apparently they use their voinermail exclusively and never answer the phone. If you are looking for a new system or service on your existing system you need to consider this before hiring them. read more

Fantastic company! We have been using Underground-Oasis for years to winterize and check our sprinkler system. Never any problems. The most recent call was for a broken pipe connection, Javier came out almost immediately, dug out the problem pipe, put on a new fitting and left the site very clean. AVOID AT ANY COST. Terrible experience. We called them to winterize our sprinklers. There employee came, left a mess in the yard and completed only half the job. We called and asked to come back and finished, which they refused. Instead they sent us a bill for the full amount. When we called them and asked to finish the work they refused and told us to not pay they bill. These people are mentally unstable. I called to get an appointment to have them come out and take a look at some problems I had. Their first call back was very informative and responsive. Over the next three weeks, however, I called DURING BUSINESS HOURS and never got anybody live and left messages to set an appointment. 1 out of every 2 calls were returned. On a Saturday July 30, Sue called and left a vice message to see if I was still interested. Again, over the next 2 weeks I left messages from home and work trying to get in touch to set an appointment. today on the way to work I left a message at 6:50 that was finally returned. I talked to Sue and asked why my phone calls weren't being returned. She said that the company decided they don't want to business with me because the phone calls I left were in her words "creepy." When I asked what she meant by "creepy" she couldn't elaborate only stating that I left messages from "multiple phone numbers." DUH...you mean business and cell phone? Guilty. I sure did have to leave messages from work and cell because my phone calls weren't returned. In any event I asked her if the true reason she does not want to do business is because OASIS UNDERGROUND DOESN'T WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH BLACK PEOPLE, she swore at me dropping the F Bomb. These people are unstable and probably don't react well to criticism. They are probably left wing liberal democrats. Don't do business with these guys...THEY are the creeps. read more

When it came time this year to have our back flow valve tested for our sprinkler system, it brought back to mind the very frustrating experience we had last year with Call the Underground. So this review should have been submitted last year in July, 2013. Keep in mind as you read this, we were customers of Call the Underground since 2003. We pre-paid in March, 2013, for 3 services to be done for the season---turn-on, back flow test (required by law to be completed in June), and turn-off for the year. We had some issues with turn-on when we were told that there was not a sprinkler head in the place where we said it was not working. The man was very nice that came out, but my husband did find that sprinkler head and repaired it himself. The REAL problem came when we were contacted by our Village the end of July because our back flow test had not been done in June as was required by law. In the past, since it is always done outside and the paperwork is usually filed with the Village without our even knowing the job was done, we had no idea it had not been completed. The Village told us our water would be turned off in 5 days if it was not taken care of. We phoned Call the Underground to ask what the story was, and were told that someone would be out to take care of it right away, with no explanation as to why it had not been done when it was supposed to. Yes, someone did come out quickly, but somehow the required paperwork never made it back to the Village. Five days later, sure enough, our water was turned off! The timing could not have been worse as we had a houseful of out-of-town guests who came in to get ready to attend my Mother-in-Law's Memorial Service. Talk about embarrassing, inconvenient, and totally frustrating! The woman I spoke to at Call the Underground rudely stated the Village must have lost it, and took her time to fax it in "again". Two hours later when the water was finally turned back on, the damage was already done for those in our house. And on top of that, we had an additional $75 charge to get our water back on. Numerous calls to Call the Underground to voice our complaint about it being done a month late when we had already paid for the service 4 months previously, as well as trying to recoup the $75 charge from the Village, were ignored or never returned. When we spoke to our Village, we found out that we were not the only ones this had happened to. They also spoke of constant unreturned phone calls to no avail. After enduring 3 family deaths within 4 months, this issue went to the wayside last year, and I never got to issue a bad review or complaint in a timely manner. This year when the time came for the back flow test, we called another company who had it completed in 2 days, paperwork filed appropriately, AND was $25 cheaper. From the home page of their own website, it states--"Call the Underground-Oasis Irrigation is dedicated to providing you with the best customer service possible." If you respond to that type of "customer service" then this is the company for you. It certainly will never be again for us. read more

I've used this company for several years and the service has continued to decline. they get 250 calls per day and have one person trying to field those calls. if they get back to you in 2-3 weeks you're lucky. i think the company is having growing pains and not hiring to accommodate. it's unfortunate as the people are very nice. read more

I had a terrible experience with the person who answers their phone. I just bought a house and the previous owner used this company to install and service the current irrigation system. I called for some basic information on the mapping of the system because I needed to run some piping underground. They were not able to provide this and got very defensive when I asked about it. Basically I told her I'd likely not call them in the future for their services due to the customer service and she told me that is probably a wise decision. I was appalled. read more
