Sadly, there is no poop emoji rating to give this place. Where to begin ... horrendous customer service, some of the meanest/laziest staff members in all of Columbus. I've been to a lot of crappy places (we all have) but the laziness displayed in this place is top notch. Was a solid place for a number of years, but recent hires have really downgraded this place to a "zero star" type of establishment. If you go to this place consistently, they will eventually lose your clothes. If you go to this place consistently, they will eventually damage your clothes. Go anywhere else. read more

Unlike a few other drink the quaint neighborhood kool-aid and disregard the fact that we providing mediocre services in German Village, Callander Cleaning is just as good at what it does as it looks. They open early 7:30 AM so you can drop your items off before work, prices are reasonable, service is superior, and the turn around is quick. Thanks to this place I no longer shy away from 'dry clean only' purchases. read more

Wow. Fancy. It's strange when you stick a dry cleaner in a giant dusty room with original embossed tin ceilings. I liked it. Lots of space and huge windows looking out to the brick street. But hell, it's just a dry cleaner. I had a pretty good experience. My clothes were dry cleaned within a couple days, as promised. I was hoping to get my shirts back looking brand new, but they looked more like half new. The front and back were pressed and clean, but the sleeves might have been taken off, worn, then reattached. It was no big deal though, I roll my sleeves up anyway. read more

A dress I needed cleaned was returned to me almost as dirty as I gave it to them. They said they "did their best" and I was still charged a full $200. All it took was better communication or a phone call to let me know they couldn't clean it properly so I could take it elsewhere rather than paying that kind of money for a half-assed job. read more

The lost my brand new Buffy queen size comforter. They gave me back an old Kind down comforter. I called 4 days ago to report it. Everyone I've talked to has been rude and not a single person has apologized, told me what they're doing to fix it, nothing. Also, I was told I'd be called back in 15 minutes 4 days ago by Pamela, the supervisor. I'd be a lot less upset if there was any indication that they care that they made a mistake and were dedicated to fixing it, but that isn't the case at all. I really wish I would've read the reviews on this place and not just picked the closest place. I still have someone else's old comforter, I still have no call back, I still don't have my money for the cleaning back, and I also have no idea when or if they are going to fix this without me taking further action. Don't go here. The best thing is for this place to go out of business. read more

They lose your clothes and the prices are ridiculous. Worst staff members of any dry cleaning place I have ever visited. Avoid at all costs.

I can't give this place a 0 because then it won't let me write a review. This laundry service completely destroyed a comforter, kept it hostage after the complaint, told to contact the VP and proceeded to get degraded by the VP calling the customer a 16 year old a-hole who happens to be a well respected German Village community member. The VP was completely disrespectful and all for a clean job that never happened (just like my couch cover that was never cleaned and just kept in a pile in the corner of their store). We gave this place several attempts and the quality has been highly inconsistent. Reached a tipping point after bringing a few items back for a redo because they were unwearable and did not appear clean (visible stains and machine like scrape or brush marks left streaking a black pair of pants) or pressed pants and dress looked terrible (large machine formed creases in several areas on items). Clerk told us that she checked the order before pick up, so she believed the items looked worn. Basically accused us of lying and refused to issue a redo or refund. Offered to call the manager next week when available but "warned" us that the manager likely would agree. Literally have never had a dry cleaner or any business have such poor customer service. Or quality control for that matter. Not to mention we have brought in hundreds of dollars of business in recent months. Will be going out of our way to find a business where the owners and staff care about quality work and customer service. Who takes the time to try to con a dry cleaners to redo poorly done items?! Seriously dumbfounding and don't have time for this place. read more

Callander Cleaners in German Village has zero accountability for their mistakes and their service is deplorable. The two employees who work there are visibly irritated to have to help customers, but more specifically, I dropped two pairs of pants off to be dry cleaned. There was nothing written on my ticket to identify them. When I returned to pick them up, I was given two pairs of pants that were not mine, which I communicated to the desk clerk. Her response "I don't know how that could have happened. This is your ticket and the ticket is with these pants." Then she proceeded to show me the brand names she had written on the pants on her copy of the ticket after I left - which were not the brands of my pants. She also asked if I was sure I brought the pants that were now lost into to be cleaned. No, apparently I do not know the clothes I've been wearing for years and I must have written that on your copy of the ticket even though I don't work here. I was given the number to the owner who of course offered to do nothing about the situation. I can see why the desk clerks behave in the manner they do with an owner who clearly does not understand the meaning of customer service. I will never go back to this place that has the gall to call themselves a business. read more

This is a negative review. 2 pants, asked for an estimate before any work was done. Never got called, not for an estimate or when the pants were finished. Stopped in, took 20 minutes to find them, deftones blasting in the background, saggy pants kid couldnt care less. Exorbitant fee for 2 small rips, which is why I wanted an estimate so I wouldn't get gipped. You say it looks nice? Id rather have caskey's Ayn Rand-esque industrial look than a quaint building with crappy/expensive service. read more

I was not told I was in the "rush" zone (two days) nor was I informed of the price. 28 dollars. 5.50 a shirt! To be pressed. Oh, she didn't write the cost on the receipt either. I have only been to Callander Cleaner's once and I will never return. The place is nice and you can tell that the business is a proud family-owned establishment. However, the customer service is deplorable. I had brought a vintage dress to be drycleaned at the German Village location and upon getting it back 3 days later, it was nearly unrecognizable. Faded, still dirty, and discolored, the dress was not what I had dropped off earlier in the week. To make matters worse, it was unavailable for repurchase and I was supposed to wear the dress to a wedding that weekend. I completed an online customer service note on the company's website to hear back from Mr. Callander. I had let him know in the note that the dress was ruined and that I thought I deserved reimbursement for my damages. He simply sent me an email telling me to take the dress back to the German Village location. That was it. No discussion. I replied to him with a picture of the dress, a picture of me wearing the dress only once before to show comparison, and I sent him a comparable dress by the same company to show the coloring. I dropped the dress back off at the location as requested and he sent me a check for the total amount of the "comparable" dress ($42). I then sent him an email asking if he knew where my ruined dress was (thinking maybe I could attempt to dye it black) and if I would receive reimbursement for the service that ruined my dress. I have not heard back from Mr. Callander. While I am happy with the reimbursement for the dress (although we did not communicate and my dress cost much more than the only other comparable dress for sale at this time), I am unhappy with the lack of communication (mostly the lack of remorse for ruining something I cannot repurchase) and that I had to pay to have my dress ruined. Thank goodness it wasn't something irreplaceable like a baby blanket or a wedding dress. DO NOT USE. read more

The first time I went to Callander Cleaners will certainly be the last! I would highly recommend going ANYWHERE ELSE as they have now ruined my very expensive dress and have literally taken no responsibility for their mistakes. I so naively assumed that this establishment would dry clean my garment without any issues and did not think to look over my dress for any stains they may have created after picking up my dress. Only a couple months later when I decide to get my dress back out, I notice that there are stains all over the garment. I promptly took it back to Callanders, thinking they would try to take out the stains they had created. I was wrong. They told me that they were unsuccessful in removing the stains as well as noting that they were not responsible for the damage. If I wanted to contest that I could pay to get a lab report done by Callanders for $38 to prove that they were the ones responsible for the damage. I was also told that I could contact Ron Sr. as he tried to take out the stains himself and talk to him as to how I would like to proceed. After trying for weeks to get ahold of Ron Sr. with no luck, I finally managed to talk to him. I immediately told him of the situation, which he clearly had no notion of, but he went on to say that the damage was not a result of mistakes made during the dry cleaning process. He said that no matter what the wear time is (wore this dress twice), the stains were most likely a result of that even if there were no stains when I originally brought this in. He stated that he was unable to figure out if he could in fact get rid of the stains unless he was able to see the dress, clearly not remembering that he had already tried and failed to remove the damage he had done. I'm not sure if he had previously tried to remove the stains and forgot or if he lied about attempting to rectify the situation. Either way, I am absolutely astonished a business could operate with business practices such as this one. I would DEFINITELY not bring your garments here as they not only have created stains and thus, ruined clothing, but also has no accountability for any damage they have done. The customer service is absolutely atrocious from the clerks who work at the counter all the way up to Ron Sr. himself. I, like so many of those who have written on the yelp review, am so irate with the lack of professionalism shown at this business! read more

I used to go here only because of proximity to where I live (downtown). But then I became adventurous and tried another place nearby that was cheaper. They messed up my very first order and damaged my dress pants. Now I'm back to what works and I'm very happy every time. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I cannot believe how many of my husband's shirts came back to us with the buttons melted and broken. I mean what did you DO?! You have to sign this thing that basically sounds like "hey we have no liability for lost or damaged items!" ...and therefore have no incentive to treat your items with care. NEVER GOING BACK! You can't even be trusted with the most common dry cleaning item. Very disappointed :/ read more
