So disappointed! We've been bringing our two shitzu's here for the past year! Every time we take them they are unevenly cut or should I say RAZORED! My poor max has many many many cuts on his neck, ears, stomach, arms and NOSE!!! The first time this happened it was on his BALLS and now they are BLACK and SCARRED. I took pictures and WILL be going back to complain! This is ridiculous! I literally went down the list of places on Yelp, looking for someone would could take me at 3:30 PM. (most places close at 5.) This is the first place that was willing to see me on short notice without an appointment. They stayed after the shop closed, roughly 6:30 PM just to take care of my dog. They called me, gave me 15 minutes notice to pick her up, and she looks great. Also, this place is comparatively cheaper than then other places I called. My medium sized Golden Retriever was dirty, stinky, covered in mats, chewing herself, and just had clumps of thick hair everywhere. Most places I called wanted to charge me $80, this place charged me $60 with no appointment. They bathed her, shaved her, sprayed her with a nice smelling cologne, and treated her as if she was their own dog. Despite working after hours, the job they did doesn't look rushed at all. They really took their time and did a great job. I was so pleased with the results, that I gave the woman who did my dog (who also happened to be the owner) a hug. I always take my pomeranian here and I usually pay around $35 which is a good price for me. But every single time I take him here he stays for 2 and half hours! I recently had an appointment for him at 12 and brought him in early around 11:30 because I lost track of time and thought I was running late. They did not finish him until 2pm, I dont know how long it takes for them to get him groomed but I dont like him sitting in a cage for 2 hours. When I called to get an update on him they claimed that they had tried to reach me but didn't know if they had the right number which was a lie because 1) I never got a call from them and 2)Before I left my dog there they had repeated my correct phone number to me. I like this place but this has happened twice before to my little pup, I will be looking for other places. read more

Took my miniature schnauzer here for the first and last time on Friday. Her haircut was ok, but after I picked her up she got sick and almost died. I had to take her to the vet which wasn't cheap. 4 days later she's still having trouble eating and drinking. read more

I took my cat to be groomed at Funky Poodle. They groomed him OK, but I didn't like the owner. She had a bad attitude and we wound up getting into an argument. She said not to bring my cat there anymore. I said fine with me and I was sorry I brought him in. They overcharged me. read more

I've been going here for a couple years and not only are the prices reasonable but they are great with dogs. I bring my Golden Retriever and Lab to them for a trim and bath, and they love it. We took our dog to the funky poodle on Friday 9/26/14 to have him groomed and bathed. This was our first visit to the funky poodle , we made the appointment because our usual groomer was unavailable for another week when I called to make the appointment they seemed real nice so we scheduled the appointment. When we got there to drop off our dog the place seemed to be overwhelmed with commotion there were way to many employees it seemed for a shop that small , there was a groomer clipping a dogs nails on a table you could tell she was clipping the poor dogs nails way to short because every time she would clip a nail the dog would scream and cry this happened several times with no visual signs of remorse from the groomer , eventually she muzzled the dog and kept going but the dog kept screaming it was a small gray dog , another dog some how got away from a groomer and almost made it out the front gate , I really wish I would have trusted my gut when I got there and just walked out and waited for our groomer to have an availability because when we picked up our dog we noticed when we got home they cut him very bad on his belly the incision is at least an 1/8 inch deep and about an in and a half long it had to had been bleeding as to how deep it was but there was no sign of blood so they must have clean it hoping we wouldn't they should have told us. This morning I called to talk to the owner Lisa told me she wasn't in today so I asked for the owners name and Lisa replied that if I didn't know here name then she didn't need to give it to me. what kind of a business are they running over there very unprofessional lack of customer courtesy . I know there are people out there that have good experiences with the funky poodle and I understand that but what happened to our dog is unacceptable and I just hope it doesn't ever happen to any one els's family pet or worse , but for some reason I highly doubt it. I have been taking our dog to the same groomer for over 4 years and they have never even scratched our dog. Very pleased with the grooming of my long haired cat. She needed a cleanup because she was matted in places and also getting feces in her tail fur. I didn't want to completely shave her like other grooming places recommended. The Funky Poodle was willing to do a "Sanitary Groom" which meant a bath, matted hair removal, and private area shave. She was done in less than three hours. I am very pleased with their services and will be back with my dog! read more

Took my dog in the day before Thanksgiving or the day of cant remember. Anyways i called in . to make sure they had time to see my dog & explained what i wanted & they told me to bring her in. I get there & the ownder tells me they are completly booked & they have no time. I was upset because it took me 35 minutes to get there. She felt bad i was told they had time so she took my maltease in. I dropped her off around 12pm & didnt get her back until 6:30ishh! I was told i would have her back by 4. Called at 4 they said 5. Called at 5 they said 6. I got there at 6 & didnt get her until 6:30. Her haircut was totally uneven. When i mean uneven i mean long strands that were not trimmed at all. I paid $45 for a bad grooming & not to mention my dog came home not being her happy self she looked drowsy. My mother in law & boyfriend noticed she was looking kind of drowsy. I dont know if because they had so many dogs they might of givin her something to calm her which would really piss me off! Definetly not returning ever again. read more

They tend to overbook often. With so many dogs on site that some customer's pets are bathed outside in back where the strays are kept. Customers dogs are left 4-7 hours in kennels because they overbook. For me, it's not a safe environment to risk leaving a pet unattended. The groomers skills are fine, but might be a good idea to stay until your pet is done. read more

They left my dog in a hot cage from 10am until 5pm. I checked in twice, seeing my dog stressed out and all they kept saying was "He's next". I will never take my dog there again. I hope others stay away as well. read more

Wonderful groomers! If you want your pet to receive the loving care that you would give them i highly recommend the Funky Poodle. I use to take my dogs to Paws & Jaws but ever since the new owners took over they have mistreated them so I found these groomers and have been taking my dogs there ever since. My dogs were afraid to go into Paws & Jaws but they no longer fear going to the groomers and it is all because of the kind and gentle treatment they have received at the Funky Poodle. It did take a few times for them to cut my dogs the exact way i wanted but ever since they have always done a great job and i highly recommend them to everyone who loves their pets! read more

The groomers are good, and will usually see your dog on the same day if you call ahead. Make sure you speak to the groomer who will be grooming your dog, rather than leaving notes with the person accepting the dog. There is one groomer however who does whatever she likes, and in fact did the opposite of what I asked for, twice, on both of my dogs! I have an America Cocker, and asked for a "puppy cut"- they evidently thought I said "fluffy" cut. I saw the last part as I was picking him up- they were combing him and combing him with the wire brush. The hair was barely trimmed. He looked ridiculous. Next I asked for a field cut, short all over, and a different groomer than the one I got last time. They scheduled him with the same groomer. She trimmed all over, and *combed his ears* (cockers have curly hair which can be combed straight) to about 15 inches long! Ridiculous, again. For my poodle-border-collie mix, I asked for "short all over, remove head and tail". She *teased* the hair on my dog's head!, and left the tail without even trimming it. She took twice as long as promised on both occasions. But if you are very specific about what you want, you will be pleased. Ask for Brenda or Lucy. read more

I will never take my little fur baby there again!!!! I have a shih-tzu and specifically said not to shave her. The groomer insisted in a long shave so I agreed as long as her hair stayed somewhat long and to please cut along her nails to expose her pink nails. When my husband went back to get her , he send me a picture of her and my daughter and I started laughing thinking he took a picture of an ugly dog there messing with us pretending it was my Jaxie. When he got home my poor little dog was completely shaved!!! To the skin!!! The groomer shaved her paws so close to her skin that they were red and irritated for weeks. My dog was in pain. She didn't want to eat and came home not wanting to play. She even looked at herself in the mirror and and had tears run down her face. Never again will I ever take her there or recommend this place to anyone. They are very friendly but I think they probably try to accommodate to too many people and overwhelming themselves and end up doing a terrible job. read more
