The view outside the front door of our chalet was directly to the mountain. The location is ideal - close enough to Banff and the Banff National Park, but also accessible to Golden and Rogers Pass. The site is well cared for, and our nightly s'mores via the fire pit was quite enjoyable. While we purchased our firewood from the IGA, you can get some at the Chalets from one of the caretakers, whose name is on each unit (albeit more expensive).

What that means is swooping through passes and feeling like you can touch the trees! A gourmet chef has appies waiting for you when you get back from hiking and wandering as does the sauna. It was a trip of a lifetime for us between the natural beauty, making new friends, the incredible night sky, seeing a grizzly (safely) and gorgeous sunshine reflecting off of glacier after glacier. Everything you could possibly need was provided: BBQ lighter and supplies, all kitchen needs, laundry detergent, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner etc. The deck, BBQ, and hot tub were great and the view was spectacular. The only possible downsides were the main bedroom was quite small for the bed - but worth it to have that king size mattress. Also the underground parking is really tight. We couldn't get our SUV in there. It wasn't a big deal for the fall, but could really suck if you visit in the winter. These are just picky points though. The apartment is fantastic, we will definitely be back for much longer.

I am from the east coast of the states, so the night sky just amazed me. The host, Jonathan even made a campfire for me so I could sit and relax and watch the stars. The nature sounds provided me with a wonderful mediation. The lodge is only a 15 minutes drive to downtown Golden yet you have the privacy of a real mountain retreat. We stayed for 4 days and could have stayed longer. Each daily breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Our hostess, Lucille made inquires to see if we had any special dietary requirements too. A bonus was that she left baked goods under glass on the counter for a later snack at our leisure. This is a family owned B&B who make you feel as comfortable as family. They live on the walk out first floor beneath the guest rooms. Fortunately for me, they have a lovely black Labrador retriever named Ollie. His gentleness added to my stay. Nothing is perfect but these owners are committed to making your stay completely delightful in every way.

The bed was the comfiest bed I've slept in for years. Not to mention the bedding is luxurious, not the shitty blanket and sheet you get in many hotels or B & B's. Our room had hard wood floors, a claw foot bath, a steam shower, robes, a flat screen tv with Netflix and Youtube. You have a huge communal kitchen downstairs which has everything you need. Jack the current manager was the most charming, accommodating, funny and generous person to deal with during our stay. He showed us around when we arrived (which was late), and regularly checked in on us. Unfortunately halfway during our stay the hot water system stopped working. I am certain this won't be a future issue but needless to say it was a pretty big let down for us. (We were mostly excited about using the tub on our trip!) Jack compensated ALL THREE nights to make sure we wouldn't leave feeling disappointed. He also offered us a return stay free of charge so that we could fully enjoy the space in the future. Seriously impressive service. One teeny, tiny thing to keep in mind. As we were only visiting as friends it wasn't an issue but... Sound does travel easily. We could occasionally hear other guests in their quarters. So we imagined honeymooners or couples may have a tough time feeling completely private. But other than that this place is where you want to go if you're staying in Golden.
