    A beautiful fellowship hall!
    Frank Z.

Wow, this church is absolutely amazing! The people here are super friendly and the welcoming staff will help you get situated. Whether you're new to the faith or a seasoned Christian, there's always something new to learn from the word. Pastor Charles and the other staff are always working hard to make sure people are welcomed and being challenged to be better people. This church also has a heart for local and global missions. There are kids ministries with awesome teachers and tons of staff, so families are definitely welcomed! Youth group and college groups are also taken care of, so high school and college students, check us out! Adults of all ages meet during the week at cell groups, a great opportunity to grow in discipleship and fellowship. Not sure if you want to check this church out yet? Get the Tapestry LA Church App! You can find the sermons, prayer guides, event info and other awesome content straight from your phone.

Everyone comes from a different background, has different needs, is in a different stage of faith...but for whatever reason, you're looking for a spiritual home or just want to check out a new-to-you church. There is no perfect church, but there are healthy churches and Tapestry is definitely that. Tapestry is a non-denominational church that aims for the "radical middle." This means striving for both solid Biblical doctrine teaching and the power of the Holy Spirit (so somewhere in between conservative, which I'm more familiar with, and charismatic, which can mean passionate prayers and speaking in tongues). Pastor Charles, the lead pastor, describes himself as a "Prestecostal" - part Presbyterian, part Pentecostal. This is a fairly new and rapidly growing church. It officially launched back in November 2014 (there is a back story of how it came to be, and the pastoral staff has plenty of experience). The first time I went to service, I went alone and got a bit overwhelmed so I left right after. The 11:15 a.m. service gets really packed (which makes the space seem small), the girl who I was sitting next to was really emotional, and I just figured everyone else already knew each other. I went back though, and I was determined to make connections/meet people/get plugged in. Who should notice me standing in the back of a very crowded room, awkward and alone? Pastor Charles. He greeted me, explained to me that a lot of the people there were also new like me, but quickly introduced me to some members who invited me to a cell (small group) potluck. I haven't missed a Sunday since then. What do you want in a church? I'll tell you what I want and what I've found at Tapestry. 1. Community. People to do life together with. Weekly cell groups/small groups. Lots of occasions for fellowship (picnics, basketball, volleyball, lunches, etc.). 2. A pastor who knows me, knows where I am spiritually, and prays for me. I also enjoy getting to know all of the pastors and their families, as well as their testimonies. 3. People who truly embody the image and spirit of God. People who are so genuine, loving, accepting, and supportive. People who walk the walk, but also lend helping hands to others. 4. Scripture-based message, that's a given. 5. Plenty of opportunities to serve both the church and/or community. Other things offered are children's ministry with dedicated teachers/volunteers, youth ministry, college ministry, worship band/team, opportunities for missions/outreach, etc. but you can learn all about that on their website/FB/etc. and should you decide to attend. It's located in Westlake near MacArthur Park (close to both K-town and downtown). There's free parking (garage, lot, and street) but can be challenging if you come late, especially for the 11:15am service. So what more can I say? If you're curious, simply "come and see."

Been going to Tapestry for a while now and it has been such a wonderful experience serving with this church and seeing God move. Like what others have said the pastoral staff is amazing and really wants to get to know you and pray for you. Pastor Charles is such an amazing man of God and his sermons always blow my mind because of how theological it is but at the same time he lets you know how you can apply it to your life. You can also check out their website and even listen to the sermons online at http://tapestrylachurch.com This is great for me because if i do miss church, I am still able to listen to the sermon. Another great thing that this church is about is loving the community and really being good neighbors to the harboring area, Westlake. Been to a few of the events that are held here and it's nothing short than amazing. I believe the other great thing about this church is the cell groups. Cell groups are amazing because its broken up by gender, age, and location. This makes it easy to find the right group that fits you. Its been great because you're able to meet a loving group of brothers and sisters here that you can really share your lives, pray, and read the word with. Love this church a lot

From the moment we walked in, there was such a deep sense of peace and reverence. The architecture is absolutely breathtaking--soaring ceilings, stunning stained glass, incredible artwork, and details everywhere you look. I was especially moved by the historic pieces throughout the cathedral, including the beautiful chapel, mosaics, and preserved altar. Even the courtyard and surrounding grounds felt serene and thoughtfully designed. Beyond its beauty, what made this experience so special was the feeling inside the cathedral. Despite being such a grand space, it felt incredibly warm, welcoming, and sacred. Whether you visit for Mass, prayer, or simply to admire the architecture, this is truly a place that leaves a lasting impression. Such a wonderful and memorable experience. I would absolutely recommend visiting if you're ever in Los Angeles

The Cafe has tables to sit. There is a small area that has some kid games. A nice water fountain on the backside with olive trees. There is a gift shop right next to the Cafe. Bathrooms are located by the gift shop or on the lower level of the Cathedral near the back pews. 5/5 Ambiance Large seating areas with a chapel inside. There are relics inside as well on the sides. Been blessed to attend priest being ordained as well as a Chrism Mass. 3.75/5 Parking Large event days expect a long line. You can get parking validation when you are leaving Mass just see the information booth at the bottom of the stairs. So if you have a chance visit the Cathedral stay awhile to be still and enjoy the peaceful Ambiance. Psalm 46:11, God bless

I spent those first weeks in the back sitting on the floor crying. I felt so free and just ok to be myself for once. It has definitely been a hospital for me. It's been 3 years now and I'm so grateful that I was introduced to this community. I've grown spiritually, mentally and emotionally. I'm still growing and figuring myself out but where I am now is without a doubt due to Jesus Christ and the heavy presence he places over this church. The amazing leadership team at Evergreen take their own personal relationships with Jesus very seriously and it makes me trust them so much more. If you're looking to get more involved in the community, I highly recommend checking out all of the greenhouse groups and see which one works for you. Also look into the volunteer teams! I joined the prayer walk team for a time and that is where I made a lot of friends. I'm looking to see where else I can be of use because I seriously love this community and see myself staying here for a long time. I wanna grow with this place.

The entire pastoral and leadership team are sold-out lovers of Christ, and their authenticity is undeniable. From the moment I stepped into this church, I was overwhelmed by the love of God through the Holy Spirit--I instantly knew I had found my church home. Deep calls out to deep. Like anything worthwhile in life, building community takes effort. If you're looking for connection, I strongly encourage you to start volunteering right away. That's how you meet the "good eggs"--the ones who value serving, consistency, and commitment, just as Christ's love compels us to show up for one another. Think of it like planting a tree: roots are necessary for fruit to grow. Attending once or twice and making a judgment doesn't do justice to what this church has to offer. Plug in, get to know people. You can't microwave friendships or a sense of belonging. But according to scripture when you refresh others, Jesus refreshes you--and serving is one powerful way to experience that. If you're visiting for the first time, welcome. I hope you'll take that next step and get involved. Life isn't easy, in fact Jesus warned us there will be trials and tribulation, but He has overcome. Finding people who draw from His well of life is a rare gem, but I've met some of the most solid, faith-filled people here at Evergreen LA. From a city of Angels Native, Amy & God bless you!
