Dr Calvert is great. He really takes the time to get to know and understand his patients. That alone is very hard to come by.

The practice is Texas Family Health Coppell and 3 years ago I sent them an internal message stating…read morewhat bad experience I had there. Their staff were rude and unfriendly but the doctor, Dr. Coxsley, is great. I moved out of the area but recently moved back to Coppell and naturally I called trying to see a familiar face. The MA at the time told me Dr. Coxsley was not seeing new patients, I called mack a few months later and come to find out that MA lied.... what really happened is that the practiced "dismissed" me as a patient. I called Monica the practice manager but she never returned my call. I called again a month later and again was told that the practice dismissed me and that Dr. Coxsley made that decision. I think it's crap you leave honest feedback about your staff 3 years ago and you are never allowed back there. Staff come and go all the time but Dr. Coxsley is still there. She is a great doctor. you would think that the practice would call me and ask me what happened what can they do to make it better, etc., but no they did not. It's a shame they can get away with doing this. I tried to email corporate but this is a big business.... never heard back from anyone. I can not recommend this practice as they are shady.

    1. I have chronic UTIs. If anyone has experienced them, you know how extremely painful they can be…read more Two times now I have gone in for treatment and they fail to submit the prescription for antibiotics to my pharmacy. So I just have to deal with the pain until they "get around to it". 2. When you call the office the message suggests logging on to the patient portal and make an appointment. I picked the provider, a day and a time. Beware, you are NOT actually making an appointment, it just sends them a message that you want an appointment. Which is so absurd, why have the patients go through the process of "making an appointment" if they aren't actually making an appointment?? So they received the message in the portal and called me to tell me there were NO appointments available for me to be seen for my UTI. I tell them I'm in pain and NEED to see someone, they don't care!! 3. I also had an instance where I made an appointment for a physical, however that isn't what the scheduler put in. I show up for my appointment and the provider didn't have time to do a physical, yet they charged me over $700 for a physical. There are plenty of physicians in the DFW area. I strongly suggest you find a practice other than Healthcare Associates of Texas. Their priority is making money, NOT THE PATIENTS!!

My husband went here to establish care after receiving a quote that new patient fee with insurance…read morecoverage should be about $81. Healthy guy, mid 30s, no health problems. Occasional overuse muscle pain. He had an appointment and was seen 1.5 hours past his appointment time. The face to face time with Dr Calvert was about 20 minutes and an additional 10 to check out. In these 20 minutes, Dr felt he did enough to up charge medical billing code to 99205, the highest charge for new patient. A full physical exam was not done, social history, family history was not reviewed, simply any questions concerns was asked. Only knee jerk reflex, straight leg raise and vertebral check was done and a prescription for high strength advil was sent electronically to pharmacy. For all of this it cost a whopping $605, $170 was covered by insurance. So he received a bill for approx $435!!!! Have reached out to the office to discuss charges 3 times. Its been 3 months now since original call followed by email to discuss. No word yet. Highly discouraged this practice. It's unethical to charge so much for a new patient visit without having reviewed proper new patient information. Please review your Bill's thoroughly for any possible upcharge! Dr Calvert may be a stellar physician, but as a new patient fee that is ridiculous, especially given that national average is $95-240, rating exceeding $150.

My primary care doctor has been Dr. Bryan Wasson, DO for nearly five years now…read more When I first found Dr. Wasson, I was working in a miserable working environment that was not only miserable because of the hostility of the workers but the unreasonable use of the Air Conditioning at 62 degrees year round. I ended up with bronchitis and walking pneumonia three times in six months. Here is why I give Dr. Wasson 5 stars. He is one of the few doctors I have ever consulted with who actually realizes we might know a tad about our own bodies. What a concept? Right! Here is where we found this realization. I have been susceptible to chronic bronchitis for most of my life, an affliction I share with my mother. And both of us, over the years have figured out that there is a tell-tale sign of impending doom... a metallic taste in our mouth that won't go away. The first time I went to see Dr. Wasson, I complained about a metallic taste in my mouth. He gave me an antibiotic, a weak one and sent me on my way. Two weeks later I had full blown bronchitis that was borderline walking pneumonia. This time he gave me a couple of shots and some medicines to get me well. He wrote this metallic taste phenomenon in my chart. Every time since then, I just call and say I'm tasting metal and he gives me the full treatment before I have a chance to get really sick. Only once have I been given a prescription from Dr. Wasson where he didn't give me a sample or a coupon. And that one time was one of those days I was thoroughly glad to have such a great doctor! I had full-blown food poisoning. I had been attempting to take phenergan for a couple of days to no avail. I had both suppositories and pills. So this day Dr. Wasson gave me a prescription and sent me over to Las Colinas Pharmacy where they created a phenergan cream that I could rub on my arms. Because if you have been getting sick for 3-4 days you have to be able to get the medicine in you where it will stay, if you catch my drift. Dr. Wasson's office has always been able to work me in anytime I was sick...and they were very quick and thorough when I needed to have my pre-op screening to make sure my heart, my lungs and everything else was healthy enough for brain surgery. I thoroughly recommend Dr. Wasson if you are looking for an internal medicine doctor.
