I didn't like my experience with this center. the staff and nurses are pretty nice people never had a problem with them. however, dr.brehm is a bit different, he has a very condescending attitude and is always rushing the process. whenever you're explaining your health concerns he seems to belittle your issues. if you are reading this review in search of a new primary physician, i would just skip this one. the other one star reviews are not lying. read more

The bad reviews, here, are absolutely 100% NONSENSE. Over the course of seven years, Dr. Brehm has been my primary care provider, and in that time his bedside manner and general demeanor has been polite, thoughtful, and professional. I have met doctors that have the "god complex" and think their medical knowledge justifies rude behavior, but, contrary to the bad reviews I saw, never have I witnessed anything like that. I actually find it upsetting. That being said, I cannot stress enough how highly I would recommend Dr. Brehm. I would send family and friends in a heartbeat. After being a patient of Dr. Brehm's for over 20 years, I just had to write a review after reading some of the negative reviews. I feel as though I am going to see a family member when I go in for my appointment. I always write down in my smart phone notes what I need him to address and he always answers all of my questions/concerns one by one. He makes me feel as though he hangs on to every word I say and offers feedback. Nele (MA) and Earline (office Mgr) are also at the top of my favorite health care provider list and always take care of my requests. Brehm Medical Center would be highly recommended to anyone that asks me for a recommendation. Brehm Medical Center is now my go to familypractitioner. I've been there 3 times (twice for myself and once for my son). All experiences I felt that they were listening to me, diagnosing my actual symptoms, and passionately explaining what they were prescribing and how to get myself (or my son) better. I have only had interactions with Tory, the Nurse Practitioner there. I take it Dr.Brehm is pretty hard to get an appt with, but Tory is awesome! She has a great sense of humor and a very pleasant bedside manner. Also the medical assistant (I think her name might be letty) is very sweet. The whole staff was great with my son. They don't have any kid's toys or a flat screen TV, but the office is nice, up to date and clean. What more could you ask for? And I have never had to wait for more than 10 minutes (usually its closer to 5) Also they are great about working with you regarding billing/insurance issues. My office is close to this location and there have been 2 times that they have seen me, diagnosed me and got me out the door in less than an hour and best of all, I didn't feel rushed. They are just that good! I highly recommend anyone in the area to give them a go. With all the construction on LBJ its a little difficult to get to, but look for the signage and you will be fine. read more

You know this place may not be as great as the website says it is if you get attitude from the receptionist. I called at 10 am to make an appointment and got the answering machine so I left a message. Couldn't wait so I went the ER, 1pm I get a call back from the receptionist, but I'm on an exam table being treated so I let it go to voice mail. I call back to reschedule and I'm on hold for 10-15 minutes. When I get the receptionist on the phone, Nelly, she is very curt with me. I ask her simple questions such as appointment availability, who she is referring me to if not Dr. Brehm, and I tell her the reason for my appointment. She gets exasperated like I'm sucking up valuable and I just say, You know what? Forget it. I'm obviously wasting your time. I hang up the phone and begin my search for another doctor. I feel awful as it is from being sick and in pain from ER treatment, and then I have to deal with an unprofessional, rude receptionist who gets agitated when I ask pertinent questions. I would have been a brand new patient, but I'm very glad I didn't go there and next time I'll read reviews before I even think about calling any more health care professionals. read more

Then they put me on hold for up to 10 minutes. So called again, just for a lady to pick up and send me to another person which ended up going to voicemail once again... don't waste your time !! I have been coming to Dr Brehm for several years and when I recommended him to a friend I was asked about the poor reviews he has online...I was previously unaware of these and just now read through some with complete disbelief...it sounds like these people are talking about someone other than Dr Brehm who has always been a complete professional with me. His advice has been thoughtful and his demeanor even-keeled. I am shocked by some of the things people have said and really disappointed to read them as they are completely unfair. WORST doctor EVER!! My husband and I went to Dr. Brehm for 2 years. everything was fine for a while. I had explained that I was seeing an allergist separately and my husband was planning on going to my same allergist. Instead, Dr. Brehm's office talked him into getting allergy shots there at Dr. Brehm's office. My husband got one round of shots and Dr. Brehm charged close to $1500. My insurance rejected it and sent both Dr. Brehm and us a letter explaining that Dr. Brehm's office was WAY overcharging and was not entering it into the BCBS correctly at all. $1500 was what an entire years worth of shots being charged by my allergist. Dr. Brehm was charging that much per month. Since we could not afford to pay it, it went to collections!! I am turning him over to the Medical Board of Texas for fraud. read more

One of the most arrogant flippant doctors I have ever seen. He upset me so much I walked out of the office and I will never go back there. He doesn't listen to patients, but lectures them; he berated me. He needs to be turned into the medical board. His billing is high and inaccurate and nickel and dimes you for his mistakes. The staff doesn't care either because they can't stand the doctor either. I was there way too long before I realized I didn't need to be bullied around and over charged. Read the other reviews; he rushes into the exam room like he's got no time for you and goes back to his office and hides, and then laughs at you. He has really got something wrong with him. I've never seen a doctor so self absorbed when he's supposed to be taking care of patients. I finally walked out in the middle of his ranting at me. The only time he spent any time with me was when he lectured me on why I should vote for. He insisted I get a flu shot and he started in on me about politics, too. He has no business lecturing patients on his political opinions. He should be a prison doctor, not a general practitioner dealing with the public. read more

Dr. Brehm is a terrific doctor with a no-nonsense, proactive approach at monitoring and caring for his patiences' overall health and well-being. I have been his patient for the past 5 years and have always been pleased with my visits. He takes the time to meet with you and address your concerns. He gives practical advice and recently incorporated some excellent new imaging procedures into his annual physical examinations to help better monitor health from the inside out. My family will never visit this practice again. Dr. Brehm is very condescending and lacking in compassion and kindness. His patient care is the worst I have ever experienced. I was pregnant with a baby girl the last time I saw him, and he told me that girls are dramatic and high maintenance. (This was unsolicited info, mind you!) His practice always billed me some mysterious amount at the time of service, which I found very strange...since most practices process payment through insurance/ billing dept. Probably no one will read this. I suffered for 2 years with being tired and slow weight gain. Dr. Brehm recc a diet book and told me I was fat cause I was lazy and lazy cause I was fat! I felt crazy and well....lazy! Finally a doctor listened to me...ends up I have Leaky guy syndrome which robs me of my nutrients...hince tired and body storing fat as attempt to overcome basic malnutrition !!!! This by far was the worst doctor experience I have ever had. I had some issues that had been really concerning me and my boss mentioned Dr Brehm since it was fairly close to our office. There was 1 person other than myself in the lobby so they were not backed up. Dr Brehm rushed me thru the whole appointment. When I would ask a question or try to explain symptoms he acted very annoyed like he was in a super rush to get to the next room. His responses to my questions were very arrogant and his bedside manner was very poor. My boss said she could see where I could feel that way as he had acted the same to her but she just isn't the type to care. Staff was very nice. Dr. Brehm not so much. He did not check anything. Most doctor's check your temp, your ears, your lungs, your eyes, etc. But, he did go on and on about getting a flu shot. Does he work for the CDC? No bedside matter what so ever. He comes in like a wrecking ball. Writing a review about Brehm Medical Center is really very easy for me to do. They made it so! I have been going to Brehm Medical Center Off and On since 2007. Dr. Brehm is the most caring person that I know and as a doctor, he is very thorough, asks lots of questions, incorporates evidence based research in his practice and his bed side manner is excellent. Sophie, Nurse Practitioner is soft spoken, takes her time with each individual patient and makes you feel that you are all she cares about, she is very personable, loving and practices professionalism all through. Dr.Brehm is rude and nasty! I literally left my appointment with TEARS in my eyes. He is condescending. He had a issue with me declining an immunization, He continued to try and persuade me into it after I told him NO several times! He than berated me. I scheduled an appt here for 3:15. I'd never been to the office and it took a few minutes to find it but arrived at 3:20. The doors were locked and it was closed. The office will not return calls. After 4 messages still no return call. The medical assistants unfortunately are very green and lack real medical knowledge. Better just to go to cvs and get fast medical attention. Will be removing this office from my provider list. Very disappointing. read more

The best staff ever! Everyone was absolutely amazing. I immediately was greeted by front staff. Did not have to wait more than 2 minutes before I was called back. The complete staff was caring and took time with me to make sure all my questions were answered. I felt completely comfortable. I have found my doctor for sure.
