I LOVED my experience buying my wedding dress from Calvert Couture! I came here knowing they carry Jenny Yoo and I love all of her designs. All of the dresses I tried on were under $2,000. I think most of them were Jenny Yoo so I don't know how accurate of a a price comparison that is to the other designers and dresses they carry, but I was never pressured to try on or purchase a dress out of my budget. The sales consultant was so friendly and helpful. I actually came twice before deciding on a dress, and she put no pressure on me! I'm a very indecisive person and she was happy to help me try on and retry on multiple dresses to make sure I loved the one I picked! I went dress shopping in late June and am expecting to pick up my dress in October or November, so keep that timing in mind if you need your dress super quick! read more

I would not recommend this bridal boutique. We trusted their bridal consultants to order the correct size for my daughter's dress. We had the dress altered and our seamstress of 30 years did her best to create the fit. We were informed that there was not enough fabric to alter the dress correctly. After speaking with Calvet Couture, they recommended we take the dress to their seamstress. When we took it to their seamstress, she stated the dress needed to be one size larger to have enough fabric to alter correctly. They offered to send extra fabric in hopes that it will work. Three weeks before the wedding, they offer "possible" solutions with no guarantee they would work. Cutting it this close, a bride can't take a chance on a "possible". They denied a refund or even a partial refund and blamed the seamstress instead of taking accountability. Brides deserve a boutique that stands behind its sizing, consultants' knowledge, and its customers. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Bridal salons and 26 year old girls go together like salted almonds and dark chocolate (aka really well and really commonly). In the last 4 years I have been to over 20 bridal salons. Whether it be for friends, family, myself. This last weekend I got to go to another! My 21st bridal salon experience was for my baby sister. There was one dress in particular that brought her to Calvet Couture in Orlando. When they posted the dress on social media we quickly called to book an appointment. The salon itself is quite pretty, it's recently relocated (I believe to take over a smaller space). It isn't spectacular by any means though and since the dresses all start mid 2,000s I was kind of expecting something a little more glamorous? There isn't a question in my mind though on whether or not this was a 5 Star experience and that is for one reason alone. The reason is named Monique. Our appointment was with Monique. She is the best bridal consultant I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. There are no words for how impressed I am with her knowledge, patience, kindness, and professionalism. She is clearly an expert in her field and is noticeably passionate about what she does. As we were encroaching past our appointment slot she was gracious and kind. Dozens of dresses, tears, smiles, and laughter went into this appointment. 4 hours of driving for this 2 hour session was worth it. As far as Covid goes they allowed us to come as a group of 5. Masks were required and they only allow a limited number of guests in the salon at a time. The consultants certainly kept a distance from guests and it's obvious that they take time and care to keep the salon (and restrooms) clean. There was no water offered (or champagne (sad)). read more

Words cannot describe how unbelievably disappointed, disgusted, and furious I am with Calvet Couture Bridal. In September, I proposed to my fiancee. The following weekend, she and her mother visited Calvet Couture Bridal to look at wedding dresses. There were positive reviews on Instagram, and it seemed like a classy, respectable business with a great selection of dresses. My fiancee and her mother had a pleasant first visit. My fiancee tried on several dresses, and one of the employees offered champagne. The 1st issue we had with the business was in the discrepancy between what was told to us at the actual store, and what was said to us afterwards. For example, we agreed upon a payment plan for the dress. Upon making the first down-payment, the employee said that they would place the order for the dress right away. The following month, when I called them in order to pay for the second portion, they told me that they were waiting on me to pay the 2nd payment before ordering the dress. This was a direct contradiction from what was communicated to us in person at the store. My fiancee spoke to the employee, and the employee implied that we were lying and that we misunderstood. Either way, I made the second payment, and that was that. I was told that the last payment only needed to be made when the dress arrived. In January, my fiancee called to see the status of the dress. They told her that the dress wouldn't arrive until early February, and that they would call her once the dress came in. Today, on February 12, pushing the midpoint of the month, my fiancee called the business, only to find out that they have had the dress since January 31st, and there was not a single call or email notifying us of this important fact. So, my fiancee went to the store to talk to them directly, and she mentioned that she was troubled by all of the miscommunication issues we have had since the fall. The older woman associate did not seem to care one bit and offered no apology on behalf of herself or the wider business. The associate said, "Let me get the dress, since it did come in last month." The moment the woman opened the bag, my fiancee immediately knew that Calvet Couture ordered the dress in the wrong color. The color that my fiancee ordered was white. The dress that came out of the bag was blush. My fiancee said "This is the wrong color," and the woman associate said she would go in the back and check the order. Apparently, there was "nothing notated" that it was ordered in white, even though we did order the dress, in white. The associate said she would call someone, and we assume she was calling the employee who ordered the dress back in the fall. She asked the coworker if the dress came in white, and then the associate got off the phone and told my fiancee that the dress is "not made in all-white." The associate goes on to say "Well the dress will look all-white in the photos", and my fiancee argued with her, reminding her that she ordered the dress in white, and was told it comes in all-white. Never was there any indication otherwise. The associate then offered a few suggestions: first, she told my fiancee that the all-white dress came with a shorter train and it had no beading on it. My fiancee told her that particular dress was not what she wanted, and it was not what she ordered, either. The associate suggested that my fiancee didn't even know what kind of dress she ordered. She then said that the blush fabric could be removed and replaced with the white fabric so that it is an all-white dress. "I can set an appointment with the seamstress to have the correct fabric hemmed into the dress." However, she told my fiancee that they would cover for the replacing of the fabric, but that my fiancee was responsible for paying for the alterations. My fiancee then asked for a refund, and the associate said they can't offer one because we signed a contract. Except, here's the thing-- we didn't. And our binder proved us right. Then she tried to guilt her into keeping the dress, saying that they would have a dress on their hands. Awful read more

I really wanted to like this bridal salon but they were terrible. I've been in the hospitality/customer service industry and have a lot of patience but this was trying to deal with. I was looking for a particular dress and they had it in stock at another location a few hours away. I called twice to confirm the dress would be in store for my bridal appointment. I go to my appointment and they did not have the dress. Now this dress was "the dress" for me so it was a big deal. They overnighted it and I had to come back the next day. They gave me a discount and I could forgive the mishap but it continued. When I came in the first time they offered champagne and I never got it. When I came the next day they offered champagne and never got it. When I came in a third time to actually purchase the dress no beverages or champagne offered. I have to admit I didn't care for some of the consultants. Some were really nice but the others quite snobbish and not very helpful. When I picked up my wedding dress I wrote down the information of my bridesmaids for the dresses they were to order. They don't carry the brand anymore but my consultant confirmed with the owner it would still be fine as long as they ordered a dress still on the website. My bridesmaid called and told them they couldn't do it anymore. I called in and spoke with Kelly and she told me the same thing. I told her about all of my terrible experiences but all she said was sorry and I don't think she was really all that sorry. At this point I'm livid and I just hung up. I completely regret purchasing my dress from the shop. Of all the wedding vendors I've dealt with they are by far the worst and I wish I had gone elsewhere. SAVE YOURSELF FROM A NIGHTMARE! This store made my wedding dress shopping an absolute nightmare. They fit you for a dress in the store that is your size to make you believe they will size you correctly. Their personnel in charge of sizing you has NO IDEA what they are doing, and the dress arrives in a size that does not fit you. In the pictures you can see when they sized me up in the store the dress fit with spacious sleeves. The dress they ordered that cost me 6000 DOLLARS and gave me had sleeves that would not go past my elbows!!!! It was basically impossible for me to get into the dress they gave me. When I asked for a refund they said they DO NOT REFUND and that it is a simple task of tailoring it. The tailor had to literally tear the whole dress apart and put it back together. Obviously with so much alteration it did not come out as it would have been if they had ordered the correct size. There should have been minimal alteration, even the tailor was shocked that this was the dress they gave me. The alteration itself cost me 1250 DOLLARS because of how extensive it had to be. In the end I cannot use this dress because it did not come out to what they showed me initially in the store. In summary, they made a process that should have been nice a total nightmare. Save yourself from this place, and go to a place where they actually care about their clients. read more

I really don't write bad reviews but I feel like other people can learn from the experience I had at Calvet Couture. I made my appointment here with my budget in mind because their website says their prices range from $1,000 - $8,000 and my budget was well above the lowest price listed. The consultant made me feel like they had no dresses to fit my budget at all, there were maybe 5 dresses (2 of which were only offered at off-the-rack prices but were in terrible shape). We walked through the store and to the "fitting room" which was basically makeshift drapery, the consultant handed me the dresses through the curtain and I had to step into them and zip them up myself without any assistance. From my experience going to two other bridal shops, helping a bride into the dress is the minimum of customer service someone would expect when trying on wedding dresses - no matter how much you plan on paying. Listen to the many reviews before me saying that the customer service is NOT there. Calvet Couture should seriously consider changing the FAQ on their website to have a higher starting price range. Unless your budget is at the higher end, they will treat you like you're less than and not worth their effort. Save yourself the time and go to One and Only or Something New, two shops in the area that provide excellent customer service. read more

I had the privilege of having my bridal gown experience at Calvet in Winter Park and I wanted to share how phenomenal it was. I met with Monique back in June and she was absolutely amazing to work with. I went to my first appointment with my friend who had recommended them and my intention was just to browse around to get an idea of what I liked. Monique listened to what I liked and what I didn't. She was patient, kind, and determined to make me feel comfortable. As a plus size woman, I truly dreaded dress shopping and here she was making me feel such at ease. I never felt out of place and there was absolutely no judgment. I felt like one of the girls! I ended up finding my dress which I didn't expect at my first go. I came back with my mom for the second appointment. Monique went above and beyond to make sure my second appointment was just as memorable as my first so my mom and I could share that experience. Overall such a pleasant experience. Monique was fantastic from start to finish. Also my dress came early which I'm so happy about since I am doing an elopement. Everything lined up perfect for us and I am so thankful for Monique and Calvet. Thank you for such a memorable experience. I will highly recommend them to any future bride! read more

In a spur of the moment group text convo, I found myself venturing down to Orlando for a girl's trip to do more bridal gown shopping for my sister. Calvet Couture was our first stop. It was in a cute little unassuming strip of shops in the College Park area. But you're immediately taken with the gorgeous boutique as you step off the streets and into the shop. The shop was sectioned off, in such that while you could see the whole store from your corner, you were in a semi-private area with your entourage so the focus remained where it should: the bride to be. Big mirrors flanked the walls and the store is well lit and painted in a calming sea blue. Bordering on the Tiffany's blue, but a little softer. They have a wide variety of bridal gowns and a small selection of bridesmaid gowns as well. Our appointment was with Alex, the shop owner. She was fabulous to work with and made sure we were completely comfortable during the whole appointment. We weren't limited to a number of dresses and she allowed my sister to take her time trying on all the dresses. My sister made many comments throughout the rest of the day (as we visited other shops) how Alex went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable with the whole process. Definitely a one-up that she has on some of the other shops we've visited during this process is being able to show you the alterations they can make to their dresses. Bridal shops are always quick to tell you what options are available when trying on dresses, but they can't always SHOW you. She had pictures she was able to pull up on her iPad of previous brides that allowed my sister to actually see what she was talking about which was a nice add. While appointments are definitely required on some days, it appears the shop may be open on other days with an appointment not being absolutely necessary, but I would definitely recommend one. Or at least contact the shop for further clarification. CCB is one of the newer shops on the scene and it is definitely ready to help you in a big way for your big special day. read more

A warning to all brides to-be who shop here to be aware of the overall poor customer service I have endured. As a soon to be bride myself, I pictured a happy and joyous experience which turned horrible after realizing that I was sold a defective dress with rips, tears, and holes that were not observed to the naked eye or until a closer look was taken by several seamstresses (including those recommended by the store). My fairytale of a dress was now tainted and I personally feel taken advantage of. And instead of receiving any sort of apology or acknowledgement that this dress was not up to par, my family and I received attitude and straight out avoidance from the owner. Please be careful in shopping at this place. We had an experience with this company where we ordered a custom gown that came back in terrible condition (broken glass in the gown, stains, etc.) and they refused to work with us to resolve the issues. They continually pointed to "language in the contract" as to why we were stuck with a terrible gown and blamed us for being upset with the quality we received and their level of service. At the end of the day, we are being forced to keep a gown that cannot be worn at the wedding (due to quality) and we have emails from this company basically telling us it's our fault for not liking what we ordered... If I could do it all over again, I would not shop here and suggest you find another boutique in the area that cares more about long-lasting relationships than turning a short-term profit. read more

Read your contract. I ordered a dress from here and it was supposed to be a size 2 - as was printed on the order sheet. Dress came in - I tried it on knowing it would be big and I would have to take it in. Paid the remaining balance and was rushed out the door. The dress has been in the garment bag since I brought it home. Opened the bag yesterday and noticed a tag on the plastic wrapping (wrapping I never saw) that said dress size 4. 4?! I didn't order a 4. Called the store today and got this lil statement that you can get it altered down to the size I needed. Yeah, but you didn't give me what I ordered. I was told to read the bottom of the order form that said once the dress leaves the store the boutique is no longer liable for any issues/damages. You ordered the wrong dress! The order form says 2 and you gave me a 4! You didn't get very me what I ordered so you didn't hold up your end of the bargain. Ridiculous. Thought this store had great customer service but you are noting once you walk out the door even with the wrong product. read more

I have been dreading writing this review because I have never actually written a bad review before, but I felt that the women considering buying a wedding dress from Calvet Couture should know and learn from my experience. The experience when you go in to look or purchase a dress is very pleasant, once they make the sale, it is absolutely terrible. I have never experienced such terrible customer service and it is something you should never have to deal with as a bride with 1000 other things going on. When my dress came in I went to pick it up and it was so tight that they could not get it up and we had to fight to zipper it. I could not breathe and could not walk correctly. The girl helping me was not the girl that sold me the dress. When I asked her what we should do because it is too tight she said "well you signed the contract so we can't do anything." I saved for months to buy my dress and that really broke my heart that they could care less that it clearly did not fit. (I have always been between a size 2-4 and actually lost weight in the time that they ordered my dress.) They were insistent on ordering me a 0 according to my measurements for that designer and assured me that it could be let out in the thigh area where I measured bigger. I of course trusted them because they are supposed to be the experts. I called for 3 weeks trying to get the girl that sold me my dress (Emily) on the phone and she said that since I took the dress there is nothing they can do (the first girl told me I had to take it from the store), but Emily assured me that it could be taken out up to a size 4 in that area. So I altered it and still, it was too small. We tried again to get Emily on the phone, spoke with other people such as Frances who made my mom cry on the phone because she was so nasty about the situation. Never once did the owner of the store reach out to see if there was anything that could be done even though I emailed her and called the store many times. They only offered me fabric to try making the dress bigger once I contacted the designer. The designer's office also wondered why Calvet did not just order my a 0 in the top and a 2 or 4 on the bottom if I had measured that way since that is something the designer could have done. Or why they did not just send it back since they would have taken it if it was not altered. At the end of the day, they offered no help, dodged my calls, and were flat out rude and stuck up. No apology, nothing. Just defensive from the start. They only offered after I called the designer when it was WAY too late and show zero dignity or compassion in the work that they do. They had the audacity to blame my seamstress when this whole problem could have been resolved right when I picked up my dress in the first place. I could go on and on about the series of events that happened to lead me to writing such a review, but I honestly just want other brides to know so that this does not happen to them. I wish I read the reviews because there are so many other women that said the same thing about Calvet; they make the sale, then do. not. care. about. you. There are so many shops out there that care about the customer and in this day and age that is what makes the difference. If I could go back in time I would go any of the other 100+ stores in the Orlando area and would never want anyone to go through what I did. If everything goes perfectly, great. She read my style so well and pulled the most beautiful dresses for me to try on. She was so sweet and supportive and truly enhanced the whole experience. My dress was absolutely gorgeous, but my experience here left a lot to be desired. I truly believe that for this massive day in your life and for the amount of money you're spending, this shop does not give you the attention you deserve. I was there several times over the course of buying my dress and some of the employees left me standing without help for far too long. They were distracted and helping other brides at the time. They clipped and unclipped me only when I called them over. We also had an item where the tag was not updated to the most recent price and the shop would not honor it, even though they said they would try to. We ended up paying an extra $90. If I could've bought my dress at another bridal salon, I would've gone elsewhere, quite frankly. read more

I had the most amazing experience picking out the dress I would become a wife in. For the first time since getting engaged, I felt like a bride when walking into Calvet Couture. The peaceful teal color of the wall shows off all of the gorgeous dresses so perfectly and all of the staff members are knowledgeable, genuine and helpful, I truly felt like I was on an episode of "Say Yes To The Dress" :) There is really a perfect dress for every style, some more casual and some more formal so I was able to try on all different kinds of dresses before being certain that I found the one. My family who joined me had nothing but wonderful things to say about the experience, it was a relaxing, fun and beautiful experience. Emily was so sweet & welcoming from the moment I walked in the door! She was so sweet & answered any & every crazy question I had with out making me feel silly or dumb (like other places have done). She was also very laid back & didn't make me feel pressured about anything (another flaw of most bridal boutiques I have been to). Beautiful store, good selection, bad service. We may have come on the wrong day...there was only one bridal consultant there on a Saturday. I was the only bride trying on gowns at the time, but there were 2 other brides in for alterations, which my consultant was also assisting with. She did not give great attention and did not have any input on the dresses unless specific questions were asked. Did not even know the fabrics. I was choosing my own belts and having MOH tie them on. At one point she walked away and I went to step down by myself off the pedestal and almost fell on my face. I did have bridesmaids there, but it shouldn't be their job to escort me. I would recommend based on ambiance and selection...I hope it was a fluke that only one consultant was working on a Saturday. read more

My daughter is in the horrible situation created by Alfred Angelo and now we are desperately seeking a new dress that will make her heart full again. I had a fantastic experience at Calvet Couture Bridal!! The store itself is gorgeous. The owner, Alex, did an amazing job with the space. It is big and open, which helps you to not feel overwhelmed when trying to pick out dresses! Everything is clean, light, and pretty. The dressing rooms are large which gives you plenty of room when trying on. The range of pricing was great.. I never once felt uncomfortable about my budget and I had so many (beautiful) options to choose from! The best part was my stylist, Becca. She was so sweet and made me feel SO comfortable. She gave honest opinions and completely understood what I was looking for, what I wanted, and what I didn't like! She wasn't pushy at all and truly wanted to help me find a beautiful dress that looked great on me!! Once we found the dress, she went a step further and helped me understand ways we could alter/add to make it exactly what I was looking for. I said yes to the dress at Calvet Couture Bridal! :) I did not feel overwhelmed there like I had at other shops where there are only a few decent dresses scattered amongst many awful ones. EVERY dress is gorgeous at Calvet and they offer several different styles to choose from which was great for me because I was still undecided on what style I wanted. The Calvet ladies are not pushy and provide helpful and honest feedback. Alexandra, the owner, is very knowledgable and has been in the wedding industry for years; she's approachable and has great taste which also reflects in the boutique itself. It is beautifully designed. It's located in the heart of College Park which makes for a fun shopping experience too. You could celebrate finding "the one" at one of the many restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend Calvet Couture Bridal! After my 3rd visit to Calvet Couture Bridal, I finally said yes to the dress today with the help of the lovely Alexandra and Sarah! Sarah was so sweet and a trooper during my appointment today; even with losing her voice, she stayed with me the whole time and hunted down a dress for me to try on. There were at least 2 other appointments going on at the same time, but it never felt crowded or took away from my own experience. Alexandra even checked in a few times throughout my appointment and assisted with the process. The whole experience was so laid back and fun, I couldn't have asked for a better time. The dress I bought is the very first dress that Alexandra picked out for me on my first appointment based on my initial budget and stylistic preference. She was not only just helpful, she was also extremely patient with me through the entirety of the appointment (being that it was my first dress shopping experience ever, I had no idea what to expect) and was so kind to explain the different silhouettes and materials best suited for my body type and the type of wedding venue. This was my fourth appointment to find The Dress, and I only went because of a friend who told me I HAD to go-- she had found her perfect dress there recently. I am so glad I listened to her. As soon as you walk in, you feel welcomed by the ladies-- not intimidated by how chic and fancy this place looks. (It really blew away the other 3 places I'd visited as far as visual appeal go). I had the most amazing experience at this store! Monique my bridal consultant was AMAZING! She was super respectful, cheery, helpful, and calming during my whole appointment. I could not have asked for a more wonderful person to help me find my dress. She was super respectful of my budget, always warning me if I was looking at a dress that was over it. The dresses were all beautiful and of varying price points which is what was so amazing! I would whole heartedly recommend this place to any bride. I found my beautiful wedding dress here! My initial consultation with Hannah was amazing. She was so sweet and knowledgeable. She took all my feedback and actually picked out the dress that I chose. She is a wonderful consultant! Unfortunately, the rest of my experience with CCB was not as pleasant. When I picked up my dress in April I ordered some hair accessories, a veil and earrings. I never got an email that any of these items had arrived and come July I was getting a little worried that they would not arrive in time for my August 4th wedding. I decided to visit the store after work one day to ask if they had come in and the store was closed an hour early. I then emailed them asking and never got a response. I came back to the store a week later and they said my veil was in but not the earrings or hair accessories. They said they would be in soon and there was no apology that it was taking longer than expected. Finally about a week before my wedding with still no communication from them I went in again just to see if by some chance they had come in. They had finally arrived and I took them home that day. About a week after I get home from my honeymoon (Mid August) I get an email saying that my accessories had arrived at the store....and I had obviously already picked them up. I wanted to give more stars because my initial experience was so positive but their customer service and communication needs some major improvement. read more

My friend purchased a dress here and the sales team was all friendly until the dress was delivered damaged. Then they turned into nasty unhelpful money hungry employees who had no consideration for my friend who only wanted a different dress that wasn't damaged NOT a refund. Now she has a damaged "brand new" dress for her special day. In a pandemic when times are difficult for everyone the last thing a bride should be concerned with is her brand new dress arriving damaged in the box and not having the company who sent it taking ownership for their products and quality of service. read more

I often don't leave review but I just had to take the time to write about my experience with Calvet. I did not buy my dress at Calvet and I am regretting it! I got swept up in the moment and purchased my Hayley Paige dress in ATL when visiting. My dressed was mailed to me from ATL and I have had so many issues with my dress being incorrect from the store in ATL. After a few rounds of mailing it back and forth to the other store, I decided to call Calvet as they are the Hayley Paige retailer in town. I spoke with Emily who eased all my worries and wanted to help EVEN though I didn't purchase my dress there. She assureed me they would help get it fixed and referred me to their best seamstress. Calvet did not have to help as I wasn't their client but they went out of their way to. I will recommend Calvet to EVERYONE! You can buy your dress from anywhere but will they be there to help after the fact?? Calvet will! read more

Brides Beware: this was the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I worked in customer service for 12 years, so I understand that things can't always go perfectly, and hate to write a bad review, but after taking a few weeks to cool off, I feel it is important other people know what they are getting into before dropping thousands on a gown. Especially because I recently read other reviews from brides with very similar stories. So, let me tell you about my experience with Calvet Couture Bridal in Winter Park: I emailed this store to see if they carried a specific gown that I was unable to find elsewhere. I live out of state and specified that I would be traveling to Florida just to try on this gown and wanted to make sure it was available before I made travel arrangements. I was delighted to receive a response that they did have the dress and to "please let us know which location you would prefer to visit and we can make sure that specific style is available for you to try". I scheduled my appointment for two weeks later, bought plane tickets and flew from New Orleans to Orlando. Upon arrival, I was told that the dress was not there but "was coming". It had been sent out to a photo shoot the day before and was supposed to be back by now, but the assistant had not returned. It was VERY apparent that they had completely disregarded my appointment to try on THIS dress. It was suggested to me to start trying on other dresses and they were going to track down the assistant with the dress. After I put on a second dress, the consultant informed me that they still could not get in touch with the assistant and maybe they could "ship it to me or schedule another appointment". I reminded them that I contacted someone at the store prior to booking my appointment 2 weeks ago, and that I had traveled specifically for this dress and was told it would be here. Naturally, I was very upset and stressed at this point and was unable to focus on any other dresses. When the consultant realized how upset I was getting, she said it was unlikely the dress was going to make it and that I should just leave and reschedule. I was only in the state for 4 days and was staying with my mother who lived 2 hours outside of Orlando. I explained that I would rather wait awhile until they can reach the assistant. She said the manager apologizes (the manager never spoke to me and left the store during all of this) and that they didn't want to make me wait. I reemphasized that I didn't mind waiting a few hours since I was already there and coming back was a greater inconvenience, since I did not live there. The consultant went to the back to try the assistant again, but at this point it was clear they did not want me in the store. We could hear her on the phone with the manager, and when she came back, she miraculously had a story that they finally got in touch with the assistant and that she had been in a car accident, was in the hospital, and maybe the photographer could get the dress from the car. If that dress was in a car accident so bad that someone was in the hospital, how was it possibly in any shape to try on? I'm not saying they lied, but it just seemed really unlikely. If that is the truth, I truly hope everyone involved is okay! However, it just seemed really convenient to have an excuse to get me to leave (which was the impression they were giving me the minute I started to get upset about the dress not being there). Accident or not, the bottom line is that if you know you have a customer FLYING from out of state (during a pandemic) to try on a specific dress, WHY on earth would you send it out on a photoshoot the day before?! If the shoot was already scheduled, WHY would you promise "to have that specific style available for you" two weeks prior to the appointment? The entire situation was shady and ruined what is supposed to be one of the best days of wedding planning. The day of the second appointment, Calvet called to let me know that the dress was back in the store and ready for my appointment! Again, pretty amazing that it was in try on shape after a car accident. If that was what really happened, I am sorry the assistant went through that and hope all is well now. Given the way it was handled, I obviously did not return. I did not want to give my business to a store that treated customers so poorly. Truth or not to the story, it was handled VERY inadequately. DO NOT do business with Calvet Couture Bridal, they do not value customers or the very special bridal experience each and every bride deserves when choosing their wedding gown. If you can help it, buy your dress elsewhere. read more

I had the most perfect experience at Calvet Couture, and this was mostly because I was working with Monique, a consultant there. She was so knowledgeable, she listened to exactly what I was saying, and she made me feel more than comfortable. I had ideas of what I wanted, and because Monique also has wedding dress design experience, she was able to help me make the dress of my dreams happen!
