I've been using Calvin's Plumbing for 20 years and spent thousands of dollars. Calvin Senior sold the business to his son, Calvin Junior. It used to be very professionally run but I highly recommend you DO NOT USE this company. I had them come out to repair my sewer pump. The tech said the float valve just needed adjusting and cleaning, no parts. He was here less than an hour. I received the payment notice by email and clicked and paid it before I opened and read the invoice. They billed for two hours @ $225 per hour. I called and finally got through to someone and explained the above. She said she would look into it and get back. Several days went by with no call. Again, had a problem getting thought to anyone. Finally, the gal said she would get with the supervisor and got back to me saying they billed it at the wrong hourly rate, should have been $155 per hour. She said the two hours would stand as they change for travel time and, evidently, do not prorate the second hour. I told her that was fine, please credit my credit card. I did not hear or see any credit come through several days later so I called. The gal told me she would have Calvin Junior give me a call. He did but did not know what it was about. I explained. His comment was "I don't know why they agreed to a refund be I will give it as a credit to your account." I told him I was not happy with that, that I wanted a refund as I did not know when I might need their service. After several back and forth, he refused a refund only a credit. When I told him I would get on Yelp and explain the bad customer service, he replied "do what you have to do." read more

Scott was fantastic. He completed the punch list generated during a high risk plumbing assessment for our large condo complex. He found very little extra work and completed everything in the time frame he estimated. He was friendly, efficient, respectful of us and our home. He was neat and cleaned up after himself. Found a water line leak outside our home so had to shut down water. Tried calling two other plumbing companies m, one said he was booked solid and the other said he would be at my home at 11a. At 1039, he texted and said he cannot make it until 130p I called Calvin's plumbing, sent them pictures of the leak and within an hour they were at my home and 15 minutes later, problem solved. They even looked at me water meter with me to verify there were no other leaks! I was lucky the plumber was in my area, but still excellent service. read more

I was initially very impressed with Calvin's plumbing. Wendy answered the phone on the first ring. She scheduled Kenitchi to come out and look at my water leak.When when he arrived he explained he was going to dig a hole to check the connection. I was surprised he was doing so much work to just give me an estimate. I live in Pualani Estates, were all the houses are the same, and most of them had water main breaks. Wendy called me again to let me know they are working on the estimate and are just waiting to get an estimate from an excavator.They were the only company using an excavator. The excavator company was not able to give them a quote for about 10 days and Wendy wasn't able to give me a quote for just the plumbing without the excavator. The excavator company didn't show up the day he was supposed to, but came the next day. The quote was double for just the excavation then what other companies had quoted me. My gardener offered to dig the trench for $3000 and other gardener quoted $1800 for the job. I told Wendy that I would be only needing a quote for plumbing. It had been almost 10 days since Kenitchi came out and I still didn't get the quote for the plumbing. I decided to go with another company. Shortly after, Wendy called me and asked me if I still wanted that quote. I explained that I couldn't wait any longer for it and had hired Black and White Plumbing. She told me she would bill me $150 for sending someone out there. At no point had she explained to me that it would be $150 for someone to come out. I still haven't received her quote. read more

Scott from Calvin's plumbing came out to repair a leak coming from our upstairs bathroom into our downstairs bathroom. During the first visit he noticed the upstairs drain wasn't sealed well and also had hair caught in the catch. He cleared the drain and resealed it. It seemed to work, but within a couple of uses, we noticed the leak again. Scott came back within 2 days and tested the overhead shower head and it was fine. Finally he tested the handheld sprayer and found the leak. It's been a few weeks and no problems! Prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend Calvin's Plumbing! read more

Scott at Calvin's plumbing was very professional and nice. We had a shower drip that turned out to be more than just changing out the cartridge. Scott having years of experience knew what to do. He let me order the replacement parts so that I could save a little money. Then he installed the new valve having to get at it from the opposite side of the wall. We had a main waterline break at our Ranch Estate in Waiki'i Ranch and the plumber we usually call couldn't get us in so I found Calvin's based on good reviews. Here I am adding to another great review for the incredible and quick work done by Garrett with Calvin's Plumbing. Not only is Garrett super knowledgeable but he is down to earth, explained every step and was able to get us in immediately and fix our water leak right away. He also made sure that the materials he used would be more secure and durable. I am so grateful to have found this company. 1 month later we had another mainline water break in a different location and we immediately called Garrett at Calvin's plumbing who helped us out immediately. Garrett professionalism shows not only in his work but also in the way he carries himself and how meticulously tidy his plumbing truck was. We had a little non-communication from the booking agent but thank goodness we have connected with Garrett. He is absolutely the reason this company is now our go-to. After being satisfied with their evaluation and estimation of cost I set up an appointment with the office staff. Garrett who had performed the evaluation arrived on time, on the appointment date with all of the materials and performed all of the work we had planned. He was very professional, knowledgeable, personable and did not waste any time. I am very happy with the work performed, the cost and the quality of materials utilized. Calvin's is the worst plumbing company I have ever experienced in my life (and I'm 64 years old). They came out an replaced a one dollar (max) O-Ring in the toilet which took the guy 10 minutes total (to diagnose, get, and install). I got a bill for $109. Don't flush your money down the toilet like I did. Avoid Calvin's Plumbing even if you have an emergency, find somebody else. read more

I have done quite a bit of business with Calvin's Plumbing over the past 6 years. Always great attention to details and quick service. 5-months ago we had to have them fix a leaky toilet...they replaced the entire insides of the tank. It worked fine for 5 months and now started running again due to a faulty "flapper". Called Calvin's plumbing (since they did the original work), they came, replaced the flapper and CHARGED ME $112.00 to fix something that should last longer than 5 months. As a realtor on the island and someone who has dealt with many plumbers, I'm thinking there should have been some kind of a discount since ALL the other toilets (7 total) are working fine with "flappers" that are much older! When ask why it didn't last, I was told "you have hard water"...why does this toilet have harder water than the other 6? I still love Calvin's Plumbing and I like the work they do, I'm just not happy that they don't stand by their work...could it be a "faulty flapper"? read more

Don't use Calvin's! I recently had a toilet repaired, only to later find my bathroom floor flooded. I called for a warranty repair, and they not only didn't fix the leak, but broke a dish I had placed to catch the water leak. Then they BILLED ME $100 for the repair spending only 10 minutes! Calvin, the owner refused to call me and instead, Jenny told me if I didn't like it, to go find another plumbing company. read more
