Camarena's became my recent favorite car repair service in Lompoc. I had taken my Toyota FJ Cruiser into a Toyota dealership for its routine maintenance, and they said I needed several other repairs and gave me a quote of $3,000. I took their recommendations to Camarena's and asked for a quote for those repairs. The repairs at Camarena's were $1,000 cheaper and they did a fantastic job. Since that time, we have needed several emergency repairs on the two vehicles we own and even though they were super busy they have always been able to fit us in with a quick turnaround. I've been purchasing my tires from Camarena's for I do not know how long...since it was the grandfather and the shop on A street!! ALWAYS fair prices, always free rotations, and the family still runs it and they are as nice as can be. Now that they do repairs, we bring all our vehicles here, for just about everything. You could not ask for a more honest or hardworking shop of mechanics. They can pretty much always get you in for oil changes and maintenance without too much of a wait. Appointments are easy to make, and they are very friendly and accommodating. I actually had to come here to get a really shoddy brake job redone, and they were amazing. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. When I called the first time, I couldn't hear the person on the other end. When I asked if I had reached Camarena's Tires, the man replied, 'Yeah, what do you want'. I should have hung up right then. But, I continued to ask for a stock check and price for tires that fit my specifications. After a brief hold, the guy says that they have them in stock and they would be $115 per tire, plus mounting and balancing. We went there to get the tires. They didn't honor the quote they gave over the phone. Plus, they charged for the balancing but clearly didn't balance them. So, I went right back and asked them to fix the issue. I went to the restroom and when I came out, they said it was done. On my way home it became clear that they didn't fix the balance issue. The place was filled with a bunch of young latino men working on their cars. Which, I have no issue with. However, I do have issues with the reverse discrimination toward an elderly, disabled white guy. read more

I always come here for my oil changes Today I went in for an oil change and not only did they change my oil but they also filled up my windshield wiper water I had no idea until I got home and realized my car wasn't dinging anymore . I can't say enough about this place! I had tires put on a few months ago and not only did they beat everyone's price by quite a bit, and for the same tire with warranty but their service is amazing and the guy who seems to be in charge or maybe owns it is super friendly every time I go. I called because my Toyota Sienna keeps having an issue with the traction control light engaging for a short period of time when I am driving on curves. This makes my car slow down considerably and feels likes the brakes are engaged. I made an appointment at Toyota and before that thought I should have the tires checked before. Camarena's had my car and looked it over and even ran the diagnostic codes. He assured me everything looks good but told me if Toyota can't find what is wrong to bring it back and they will dig even deeper to try and find out what might be happening and that it could possibly be an electrical issue since the car hadbeen damaged in the Thomas fire when we lived in Ventura and was repaired. Camarena's did not even charge me for checking it and they really seem to care about finding out what is wrong with my vehicle. Spent time discussing it with me when I picked up. These guys have always done a good job for us. After we moved to town three years ago, my wife's car got a flat tire. They fixed it for her, and for no charge. So when her play-toy car needed tires, we got them from these folks, and again they did a good job. And they did a good job on the alignment we needed on my car. Driving back from Jalama beach we all of a sudden hear a sound like something whipping the inside of the right rear tire well. Pull over - no sign of anything but we hear a hissing. Drive on to a wide enough spot and change to the spare - but it is old, cracked and a space-saver. Crawl north to Lompoc. First thing you see is Camarena's. Diego was super helpful. Crew at lunch so we went to lunch as well. Come to find out the inner sidewall is punctured and no repair is possible. We have a set of four tires in storage so only needed one to get us home. Diego sent us to their used tire store on A. Two guys drop everything, help me pick a good used tire, and even fixed the spare tire rack when it slid off its rails. $40, fast as it could be, and a tip for the guys for fixing the slider. Wish we still had a shop like this home in Tahoe. read more

After 6 months, Mazda CX5 tire pressure warning kept going off. Took to dealer and they found nothing wrong, rotated tires. After the warning system kept going off and one tire kept losing pressure took to Camarena's and they found nail in tire in 2 minutes, repaired tire with path in kess than 10 minutes. No more problems, tire holds pressure. read more

They said it would be about an hour before they could get to my oil change but I traveled from out of town so they got in me right away and completed it within 20 mins! I've been buying our tires from the Camarena brothers for more than 10 years. I've also purchased mag wheels from them, and have had them check suspension issues and adjust alignment. Javier is great, and the shop he runs at Ocean and 7th is very convenient. Their prices are competitive, and they offer free tire rotations and flat repairs for tires purchased from them. Not very impressed. Its my first time here and their time management needs improvement. The guy said a 4 hr job. Its been here since they opened its now 5pm and STILL WAITING. While the car was here it suddenly started making a funny noise that it didnt make prior to being dropped off. read more
