We like this place a lot because they are in Camas near our grandchildren, and it's still affordable. I was impressed by how clean it was this visit, considering how old it is. And now we can even take our little dog. This time I came myself for 4 nights, and stayed on the 3rd floor for the first time; just right for 1 small grandma. My room was near the bathroom and kitchen, which was great, because I brought my own food (health problems & prefer to spend $ on my family). The A/C in the window was noisy when on but worked great and I turned it off at night anyway (It's only May 3). My nebulizer is prob just as noisy. When my husband and I came in Oct. we loved walking down the street to Natalia's café on the corner for the free breakfast at the was included then with our second floor rooms...just fun for us. If you stay on the third floor you have to pay but it's still only $7.95 or so. The kitchen has microwave, reg. fridge, and Kirkland dark coffee we like. (I bring my own decaffe too:-) The staff is great; personable, helped me bring my luggage up without my asking. But know it's European. Hot water took awhile to get to 3rd floor shower...but it's fun to feel like I'm "back to the future" in 1911.... in a novel for a few minutes. I can walk all over town at night in safety and quiet. And this quiet retreat is just what I needed after my spouse's sad and serious diagnosis. I walked nearby beautiful Round Lake Fri. morning and met a new friend, an unexoected dimension, and learned more about resilience facing cancers worse than mine. Count your blessings. read more

I stayed two nights on the third floor. The floor has maybe eight rooms without bathrooms, but there's two bathrooms for the floor to share. That worked out great. The room was only about $90 a night. A great price. The hotel was built in 1911 and has a lot of character. I'll go there again if I visit that area again. read more

BEWARE! My husband surprised me with a trip to CBH for our wedding anniversary this last Wed, July 30th, 2025. I *really* wanted to like this place. We are big fans of historic buildings & adaptive reuse (my hubby has an Architecture degree w a Masters in Historic Preservation) and we have always enjoyed visiting the Camas Main Street. But we were forced to leave just an hour after our arrival. I started coughing out of nowhere and couldn't stop. In my life up to now, I have not been a person who suffers from allergies, but something in that room set me off. I have NEVER had a reaction in any other hotel I've stayed in. I tried to soldier through because I didn't want to ruin our special anniversary plans, but it kept getting worse, even after we turned off the A/C on a 90° day. I finally threw in the towel and told him I couldn't stay anymore. My best guess is that maybe I encountered something toxic (was it mildew? mold? toxic cleaners?? who knows?). So we gathered our belongings and returned to the front desk. I went outside right away for fresh air (which helped the cough subside a lot) while my hubby went to the front desk to check out and get a refund for our UNUSED 2 nights stay. But they wouldn't refund and said they'd still charge us for that day, even though it was a Wed, the hotel was mostly empty, we'd arrived in the afternoon, and the only thing we'd used was the TV, previously-used toilet paper and a bar of soap 2x. It was a great disappointment. TL;DR - ALLERGIES ASIDE, MY IMPRESSION OF THE HOTEL ITSELF: We opted for a room w its own bathroom. I was a bit disappointed As we climbed to our 3rd room, there were huge box fans on the floors. I was really worried we wouldn't have A/C due to the box fans in the hallways, but was very happy to see we had A/C in-room. Unfortunately, the A/C unit was inches away from the bed and blowing hard. The room was TINY. Not at all commensurate with the hefty price hike for a room w a bathroom. The bed, TV cabinet & tiny wall desk/bedside table filled up the entire room w very little floor space. There is nowhere for 2 ppl to sit except the bed. The bathroom was extremely small but arranged well and functional (altho we never used the shower so I cannot speak to that). I was pretty grossed out when I went to quickly use the bathroom before going out and encountered a used toilet paper role that was almost gone. I ended up having to replace the role w a new one, myself. I wondered if this was indicative of a poorly-cleaned room. No big deal, said I, we will be out and about, so we wouldn't be in the space a lot, and I didn't want to ruin my hubby's thoughtful effort, so I kept my thoughts to myself. It was at this point that I had my exposure (to who-knows-what) coughing attack. On our way back home to Vancouver, as we tried to figure out what might have set me off, my husband started to cough, as well. He also informed me that there were dusty cobwebs in the hallway. I hadn't even noticed. Good riddance. We will never go back, and we highly DO NOT RECOMMEND, especially if you're someone who has allergies or is sensitive to environmental exposures (which I never have been but am now, apparently). OH! Also, it's an historic space, so there are stairs and no accessibility, so not a good hotel for those who are older and/or have difficulty with mobility. My sister booked their honeymoon suite for the night of her wedding. She paid half of the room for the deposit and received a booking confirmation. 2 days before her wedding, the Camas Hotel staff told her that she never booked and that the honeymoon suite is not available. It is obvious that they double booked the room and tried to cover it up. They tried to say that she paid for the romance package and not the room, but there is no way to book the package without the room. They offered a refund for the room deposit that she paid. This place is a scam. We bought a room on a 3rd party site without realizing it. The confirmation said we had a private bathroom and a city view. When we arrived, we were informed that we would have to share a bathroom with strangers or pay an additional 70,00. We paid the money (which we plan on disputing with our credit card company ) and were given a room facing a brick wall. BE WARY!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!! My grandmother booked a room through a third party site- Booking.com for a July event. Because of her age and difficulty with technology I stepped in to help her and discovered this reservation. It was for the wrong city of her travels. We cancelled on May 25th through both Camas Hotel and Booking, both businesses contacted us to say we needed to cancel with the other party. So a second time we did that- we then received notification for both business that they had received our requests. These emails were dated 5/26 from Bookin.com and 5/28 from Camas Hotel. We believed the matter resolved. The week of 7/19 Sharon started to receive greeting emails from Camas Hotel, welcoming her upcoming stay. I called the hotel directly and explained the situation, I was informed of the policy to cancel through Booking.com- I explained we had and that we had gotten confirmation from both companies that the cancellation had been initiated. I was told a manager would call me and given their email address. Then she was charged, I emailed and again explained the situation requesting a refund, I also called the hotel again. I have called a total of 5 times now, and emailed 3 times. Each call I leave a message and am told a manager will contact me. There has been no return call or answer to my emails. I believe they have set a policy in place that makes it very difficult to cancel and essentially gives opportunity to steal from people. We followed their policy, we followed up, we received confirmation, we followed up and then my grandmother was still charged. In fighting for a refund I have been ignored, while I understand it's only $119, this amount is large for my grandmothers limited income. read more

The staff was always friendly and helpful at all times I've seen them. I felt like I was coming home and felt warm, safe, and welcomed as soon as I stepped through the front door. The bed was very comfortable and the availability of a shared kitchen area was much appreciated. Such a cute hotel with all the comforts one requires at a reasonable price right in the middle of a quaint small town. Who could ask for more? The hotel is cute, charming and clean. The room was on the smaller side but we were only looking to sleep one night and leave the next morning so it was fine. The staff was very friendly. The only reason why I am not giving it a five stars is because after checking out I received an email which I didn't check for hours starting that upon inspection of the room they noticed a coffee mug missing from the room so it was charged to my card on file. I didn't even see the coffee mugs in the room as we didn't have coffee ‍. Other than that we enjoyed our visit but don't know if will book with them in the future. We stayed at the hotel with a gift card my mother in law had given us as a gift - we were super excited to have a night away from the kids! We then were told that the gift card was not paid for and were charged for the room. When I spoke with the manager he was extremely rude and said that the gift card was legitimate but that they issue gifts cards off a 'trust basis' & that the gift card was not paid for. Its very sad as we enjoyed staying downtown Camas but it's clear what is important to the owners / managers of the hotel. The people who gave us the gift card said they will never be staying there. Valentine's Day package was not as described and ruined my Valentine's Day surprise by spilling the beans to my wife. Nice little place though. I would have given a better rating but I called and asked for the $55 Valentines. Special, which was supposed to be a Dozen roses, a box of SWISS chocolates, champagne and two glasses... what I got was 10 tulips, some "mixed" chocolates a bottle of champagne ( The cheap kind) and Two glasses. The guy at the front desk asked my wife about the package even though I told them to keep it a secret when I ordered it, so that was the start . Then I got to the room and saw the Tulips ... it pretty much ruined my stay from there, luckily my Wife told me not to worry about it until the next day, so we made the most of it. When I told the guy about everything the next day he said because of the snow , that they couldn't get Roses, although my wife and I walked to the local Safeway about three blocks away, where there were tons of roses. As for the Swiss chocolates, he seemed surprised that the website said that . He said that he would take $20 off for the Roses, but wanted the Tulips and Vase back. At that point I was done and just agreed. Here in Washington State to visit my daughter who will be moving back to Texas this month! My daughter found this quaint bed and breakfast and hosted a wedding shower in their atrium just last weekend. They rent the space out when not used for the breakfast which is complementary with our stay. The lobby is tiny but inviting and the lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful; she assisted us with our bags. The hotel has a narrow staircase that leads up to the second and third floors; so I would say it is not handicap friendly...there is no elevator. Our room had a king bed, loved the wardrobe which housed the TV, a small space for hanging clothes and a Keurig with two coffee choices or tea. It's nice to have a real cup and not a plastic one. More about the decor; the bathroom floor had a unique tiled design which gave the bathroom a bit of character. I loved not having to share a bathroom European style ! Yes , if in the area again I would stay here again ! We were able to leave our bags at the front desk, while we shopped! read more

If you are looking for a place to stay in Camas, Washington, look no further! This is the best hotel. It is located in the heart of historical downtown Camas, within walking distance of Natalia's Cafe. It is very quaint and friendly which fits the feel of this town. Juliana couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. All of the managers, including Stacy and Kaylee, were so welcoming even when I originally called to inquire on the phone about the hotel. We were so pleased that we chose to stay in the ensuite rooms. The Columbia Gorge was perfectly situated near the stairs and the atrium where there was availability of a microwave. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room included a Keurig coffee maker and all the fixings for our morning coffee. The breakfast at Natalia's Cafe was included. It was located within walking distance at the end of the block. After breakfast we strolled down the street, window shopping at Allure Boutique and checking out the great bookstore Bookish . Later in the day we could go beer tasting or wine tasting! Since we have family in the area, we are planning to return to Camas. The only place we will stay is at the Camas Boutique Hotel! read more

The Camas Hotel was a great experience, but prospective guests please keep this in mind: This is a historic building. The rooms can get a bit chilly, the plumbing is sensitive, and the walls are thin. A couple was having some of the best sex of their lives somewhere in the hotel, and it sounded like they were right in the room with us. We could also hear TVs in the morning, anyone and everyone going up and down the stairs, and people conversing on the street. If this doesn't deter you, you will enjoy great service, comfy beds and linens, an amazing location in adorable downtown Camas, and a unique lodging experience. There was an atrium on the second floor that looked inviting (but COVID). We also had the room with the massive bathtub, which was worth every penny. read more

This is a cute boutique hotel. It's in downtown Camas, Wa. Don't believe what you read though! Went we booked we booked for the room with a free breakfast in the morning. When we checked in we were told there is no continental breakfast after all. There attitude was oh well too bad. My husband is here for work so we were specifically looking for a place with coffee and breakfast in the morning. I felt a refund is in order but no such luck. We were just told no breakfast. The pictures are not really accurate. Our room was tiny with a bathroom. The Bed was really uncomfortable. It had a topper that was thick and I'll fitting that slid off bed with every movement. There were 4 flights of stairs to our room. Couldn't use WiFi kept getting error code to move closer. Had a view of alley and stagnant mosquito water on the rooftops. Fridge makes noise all night. Shower was cold on Monday and got colder had to get out of shower and take shower at our next hotel. Wouldn't stay here again. read more

We just got home from our second stay at the hotel. Our first, about 5 weeks ago, we stayed in room 7. I thought it was wayyy small compared to the pictures online of that specific room. Boy, was I wrong. This time we stayed in room 6, I specifically booked that room thinking it would be a bit roomier according to the pictures. It was the exact opposite. You can hardly get dressed without elbowing the way-too-large armoire which is in every room, or stubbing your toes on the bed frame. On another note, the rooms seem fairly clean. The beds are comfortable. The shower water is hot. The prices are VERY high, in my opinion. Considering the size of the rooms, lack of elevator. Honestly the only reason we rebooked was because they ran a free breakfast special with a partnering restaurant down the block, which was absolutely delicious. I will write them a separate five star review. This morning, Labor Day, we were woke up at 6:30AM by some EXTREMELY LOUD banging in the alley directly below us. As if the garbage & recycling was being tended to. At 6:30. On a holiday morning. Sorry but that sort of tanked the whole experience for us. May rebook, for the right price. After tax I ended up paying $159 for a one night stay in a very small room with no bathtub. I wouldn't rebook for more than $100/night. read more

Camas Hotel is quite old. Some rooms are small and don't even have their own bathrooms. Many rooms only offer a shared bathroom. That being said, my husband and I booked the honeymoon suite. It couldn't have been better as far as the stay. The continental breakfast isn't great but the price for the room for the amenities was worth it. Natalia's cafe is right on the same corner. It even included movie tickets at Liberty Theater down the street. The Jacuzzi tub was luxurious and the water was plenty hot. There was a Kuerig machine that was a nice touch. I would definitely stay there again for a special occasion even though I live less than a mile away. read more

I was very disappointed in my 2 weeks stay here. First of all, I signed up for breakfast every morning and they told me that the restaurant was undergoing renovations and they didn't know in time to let Priceline know, HMMM!!. This was strange because they were serving dinner every night, HMMM!! When I asked what they were going to do about it, they said that I didn't request breakfast, which it states on the Priceline website, and they would not make it right. Then on my second week, one of the two bathrooms on each floor was out of order for the whole week, the whole week, HMMM!! Also, the last three days I was there, the WIFI was not working, again, no help!! For the crackerjack box size room and how much they are charging for a boutique hotel, it is not worth it and I for one, will never stay there again or recommend that place to anyone. We stayed in the European style room 19 (on the 3rd floor) from 7/16-7/22. Reservations were made via phone. The clerk was very friendly. There was a $40 deposit and she told me upfront the total charges. Everything was handled smoothly. I received a confirmation email right away. Upon arrival, the clerk gave us info about parking (free off street 1 1/2 blocks away) and sightseeing before she escorted us to our room. She offered to carry our bags up for us, but we declined. This is a small 104-year-old hotel that doesn't have many of the amenities that you'd expect in a modern hotel. There are three stories and no elevator. Online, the hotel was clear about which rooms had air conditioning & which had shared bathrooms. This was reiterated over the phone and again when we arrived. Rooms without air are provided with a fan and you can open a screened window. If you're sensitive to heat, consider getting a room with a/c. During our visit, the highs reached 75° and the lows were in the upper 50s. The rooms were quite warm after being closed up each day and took a while to cool down each night. It was fine by 3 AM when we'd wake up ready for heavier covers. Our rooms didn't have an attached bathroom, but there was a sink and mirror. My husband loved the accordian wall mirror for shaving. Inside our room, we were provided with earplugs, face wash, and soap. Each bathroom (there are 2) had dispensers mounted in the shower filled with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The showers are large with sliding glass doors. I don't know how many guests were on my floor, but we had no problem accessing a bathroom. If you're sensitive about germs, consider getting the ensuite. Housekeeping occurs once every day. Unless you're first in line after it's cleaned, finding someone's hair in the shower is unavoidable. Twice, there was a wad of hair in the drain that I removed before showering. While the hotel was by no means filthy, it was due for a deep cleaning. There are stains on the floor of one shower that likely would come out with a good scrubbing (Comet!) and the shower door needs a good cleaning. I would like to have seen a daily shower spray available for guests to use for sanitation. The stainless kitchen sink was tarnished (Comet!) and the stove, while obviously wiped, was not really cleaned. There was a sign in the kitchen that said it would be cleaned once a day. I checked back the next afternoon to find that the stove and sink looked the same. Two days later, still the same; wiped, but not really cleaned. The baseboards were very dusty as were the glass tabletops in the hall. I suggest using a crevice tool to vacuum the edges of the carpet. I agree with another reviewer's comments about the outside noise. Because we had to sleep with the window open, it meant hearing everything that went on outside. During our stay, it seemed everyone under 25 was outside playing Pokemon Go. The earplugs helped drown out most of the noise that rose up from the street. However, even with the earplugs, I was startled awake by someone screaming "I got Pikachu!!!" Checked the clock and it was 3:16 AM. There was also a lot of noise coming from Caps N' Taps. Despite closing at 10 PM, patrons linger on the patio seating for hours later, yelling and laughing. That noise carried easily through our window even when it was closed. There are also at least two guys in town who like to revv their truck engines and speed around in the middle of the night. I invented a story about them the town troublemakers. All of this noise is a little disappointing when you are hoping for a quaint, sleepy little town. Considering there are no residences in an approximate 3 block radius, and most everything closed by 7, this area should be much quieter. Unfortunately, the locals are probably bored out of their minds and leaving their neighborhood to hang out here is all they have to entertain themselves. We were on vacation so we laughed it off as best we could. If we had to live with it, we would've called the cops. Of course, none of the noise is Camas Hotel's fault. They can't control what goes on outside. I'm sure they know it can get loud, which is why they provide earplugs. Inside the hotel was very quiet and I believe they try their best to keep it that way. There's a sign in the laundry room asking guests not to start a load after 8 PM so as to avoid disturbing other guests. We washed a load of clothes and it made me chuckle because it was so quiet. Compared to the noise from outside, I'd say the washing machine was the least of anyone's problems. All said, the good outweighs the bad and we'd certainly stay there again but most likely with the ensuite. Since the outside noise is beyond their control, but the cleanliness isn't, I'll split one star between the two. Minus one star for cleanliness/outside noise. It really is a cute hotel and can be a pleasant experience if you know what to expect. read more

I love it when a place lives up to its reviews and ratings. That's not the case here at Camas. They exceed it IMHO. From the rates to the high quality to the staff, Camas hits on all cylinders. My wife and I spent the weekend here to celebrate her birthday and were not disappointed at anytime. The staff responded to every request. The front desk even found and delivered plastic utensils to our room. Free tickets for breakfast next door at Tommy O's made for a pleasant start each day. We will come here more in the future, as should you. read more

The hotel just updated their response to say I declined to move to another room. That is a total lie. I was told and their initial response was that they were full so there was no other room. That is a blatant lie on their part. If a king bed can be split you at least should have a topper and the same type of bed. This is a boutique hotel in downtown Camas. Built in 1912. It is quaint and clean for the traveler who is looking for an experience. However, it did not suit the needs for my stay and I was disappointed. I traveled down to Clark county for a concert at the Sunlight Amphitheater. All the rooms along I-5 were sold out. At the advertised rate of $85 and stellar reviews, I figured I would snap up the last room in this hotel. So I got to Camas early and they were having a huge street fair. There was parking issues. The Hotel has a reserved parking lot on 4th street that requires dragging your luggage a block and a half down the street or bumpy old sidewalk. The hotel sent a friendly young lady with a wagon to help with this. The hotel still has it's early 1900s charm, and if you like the European style of shared bathrooms, it is not a problem ( I'm sure Rick Steve's fans are cool here ). There is no elevator and the stairs are narrow and steep. There are high ceilings and to climb to my third floor room with my wheelie bumping up those stairs after a long drive was annoying to me and probably fellow lodgers who had to hear it. The room was tiny, with a sink and coffee maker. No room for a comfy arm chair but did have a small glass table with two upright chairs. Owners had carefully selected furniture to compliment the 1900s boarding house style rooms. The hallways had broad landings with benches inviting one to mingle and socialize with other borders. The desk lady informed me that if I returned late, I may need to park in the overflow lot behind the mortuary and gave me a map and key to get into the hotel lobby. Returning after midnight when the concert ended, I indeed needed overflow parking. However at that time, as a result of the street fair festivities, the bars had been doing a great business and the dark, poorly lit streets of Camas were filled with drunk, young, happy men. Mortuary parking required a several block journey through this area for this lone woman. So I chose street parking in a better lit area closer to the hotel and worried about getting ticketed or towed during the rest of my stay. Some of those happy fellows must have been my lodging neighbors and got to our shared bathroom before me. The seat was up and there was pee all over it. Yuk! I don't like this at my own house! Decided that taking a shower before bed in the shared bathroom with drunk male guests possibly waiting in line outside was something this old lady would take a pass on. The bed was comfortable and slept being paranoid about my car. Got up early, was greeted by the toilet seat up and mellowing yellow. Bumped my luggage downstairs following the smells of breakfast. Discovered the atrium and coffee, bagels, oatmeal, yogurts, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, orange juice, and quiche. Very nice 60 something, greenie trekkers enjoying the breakfast and complimenting their weeklong stay in the hotel. So long review summed up: Great little historic hotel if you are looking for an experience, come into enjoy the street fair and festivities, and can get the advertised price. This is a gym of a hotel and I lovely little town. My daughter and I were looking for somewhere different to stay for our trip at the Columbia Gorge. I found this little hotel in this tiny town and the reviews are awesome. It lived up to everything it was supposed to be. The room was lovely the service was excellent they even give you free movie tickets. For the theater down the street. The town is adorable and there's a great breakfast place next-door if you don't want to eat the breakfast is included. That looks wonderful but we were leaving so early to go see waterfalls that we chose to go down the street to the other restaurant. I had a wonderful stay in a quaint little Hotel directly in the center of the hamlet of Camas. This is a circa 1940s style well maintained. A perfect way to escape the metro and regain your sanity. Restaurant and shops are right outside the front door. Parking is a block away or if you are parking after 6 pm you can park steps away. The only need for your car is when leaving Camas going into the Gorge or diving back into the rat race in Vancouver / Portland metroplex. Excellent Service ! read more

This place is so awesome, obviously a killer location and such a magical history - it's a special thing to have this unique spot still Operating for the downtown community. It's an old building so the usual expectations should apply- THIN WALLS and floor noise above. Extremely convenient parking lot. Nice breakfast option for a lite snack. Very pleasantly surprised by the Camas Hotel. Looking for a quick get away, I found this boutique hotel online through a bed and breakfast site. I was so excited that I booked through the third party site instead of directly through the hotel. For those who don't know, it's better to book directly through the hotel for many reasons I won't go into. Charming is the best way to describe this hotel. I stayed in room 27, it was small but had everything I needed. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in in quite some time. Very nice decor and color scheme. This room has a bathroom and shower. If that's important to you, make sure you book a room with these amenities, otherwise, you'll have to use the shared bathroom spaces which aren't too bad anyway. There is complementary breakfast in the mornings. The "sunroom" or enclosed deck, not sure what to call it, where breakfast is served, was cute and quaint. There are lots of little fun shops right down here too, as well as a movie theatre (you can get tickets at the hotel). So for the price I paid for the room, the value was awesome. The owners are super nice and everyone I came into contact with was friendly. I'd stay here again. read more

Perfect end to a perfect day. The Camas Hotel was home for the night for our out of town wedding guests. I think it in total we had 6-7 of the room with about 20 people (including kids) staying. Everyone had a good night's sleep. Karen treats everyone as if they are guests in her house and the pride in ownership shines! read more
