Many things took place to my grandmother was she was here. For instance, her room camera we installed was turned off by an employee. On a different occasion her jewelry was stolen, then management completely overlooked and disregarded the situation. Management also had my mother and I take my grandmothers trash out to the dumpster because the employees did not want to. And lastly, when I told a nurse to please check on my grandma after leaving from a visit the employee did not check, and my grandma ended up in the hospital. My heart goes out to the good employees who work here, I only experienced 1-3 good nurses who generally took care of my grandmother, that I cannot be more thankful for. I am just angry and upset with the way things were handled and kept hush hush from me and my family for years, especially at the cost we were paying. Think twice before you send that application. I would hate to see what happened to my grandmother happen to anyone else's loved one.

Nurses and doctors state that this does not look like just a fall. No cameras to show how and when she got to her room. She is now in critical condition and no one has called or visited her one time since a week she has been in emergency hospital. Crooks without conscience. So don't ever consider this place!!!!'!!!

I would love to live here one day. Andrew, the Executive Director, is always out and about. He knows all of the residents by name and knows details about each one. He knew me by name before I had even moved my mom in. The Executive Directors at two other communities where my mom lived prior to the Oaks never left their offices and didn't know my name, even though I visited 4-7 days a week. Lynne, the Horizons activities director, is amazing. She has so many great things planned, my mom loves going for rides on the community bus, even if it's just the "scenic joyride" around Woodstock. My mother has lived at three other AL and memory care communities and the Oaks is by far the best. I visited four communities before selecting the Oaks. I also asked around a lot, talked to many people in the industry, including the caregivers, CNAs, etc. They all said how great the Oaks is and how much they would love to work there if given the chance.

It was easy to book, the staff was more than helpful, and we had a great time. My grandma moved to a smaller unit after my grandfather passed, and has been happy with the quality of both units. We brought my mom to live here after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She did not come willingly…read morebecause she didn't understand her illness and was a handful when she arrived. Suzanne and Chuck went out of their way to make the adjustment as smooth as possible. After a few short weeks, she loved it there. All the workers were extremely kind to her. We had a few minor hiccups with her medications, but that is to be excepted and they were quick to fix the problems. Eventually my mom was placed in their memory care and I was happy with the care she was given. They helped get my mom on hospice and kept me aware of the hospice staff and how they were doing. The biggest gratefulness I have towards Benton House is when my mom fell and fractured her back. We thought for sure she would have to be placed in a nursing home. They were wonderful to accept her back and told me this was her home. She died a few weeks later, but happy and grateful that she was able to live her final days in a place she eventually fell in love with.
